Dear Devs,
Happy New Year!
I have managed to gain S-Off, Bootloader Unlocked and Rooted.
I have the HTC M8 Sprint HK Edition on Android 5.0.2 Sense 6.0 Software Version 4.25.654.18.
Kernel Version
3.4.0-gdeff0d2
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT
Baseband Version
1.09.20.0209
Build Number
4.25.654.18 CL501086 Release Keys
WiFi, Tethering, Data on Roaming and GSM SIM Works fine with 3G working i guess it is unlocked if these works? 4g does not work at all. Is it possible to convert this device to an Asian Version so that 4G starts to work?
I will be grateful to you guys if you could please help me with this.
Thank you so much.
You mean LTE? Only if your provider LTE bands coincide with Sprint LTE bands. And No do not try to flash firmware from GSM to CDMA M8, the radio will stop working.
Also, use the q/a forum for questions.

[Q] Is it possible to make your AT&T or Sprint HTC ONE (M7) an International version?
Hi guys,
I have a HTC ONE (M7) which is an unlocked AT&T version, as the update for the the International version is already out and I cant update mine since its the AT&T version. I want to know why does the update differ for all the versions? and also is there any way I could install the International update to the AT&T version?
Thanks.
I believe the difference between the two versions is based on the types of network signals they would be using. Europe doesn't have access to 4g and LTE, while the U.S. does. So the device is built differently to accommodate the networks. So sadly, no way to convert a AT&T One to an international one. Best bet it to simply root it, and flash a custom ROM.

You can unlock the bootloader, flash custom recovery, then flash a custom ROM based on the international ones without any issue whatsoever. If you're looking to update without unlocking/rooting/flashing then yes, you're going to be SOL. The HTC One on Sprint and AT&T support all global frequencies, at least as far as non-LTE goes, so they can operate on any carriers network(GSM phones will not work on CDMA networks, however) as long as they are SIM unlocked. SIM unlocked is different from unlocking the bootloader and you'll either need your carrier to provide you the code or purchase a code from a third-party source. Eventually, there may be a hack to do this on your own but not as of this writing.
Thread here on the variants if you want a look.

Im looking for some developer to post a guide on turning a regular Htc One like the T Mobile or AT&T version into a Developer Edition One that will get Ota updates from Htc. All the internets await the dev that does this, or 5 bucks on paypal. Whatever you choose.
This has already been done, although not in one tutorial yet on XDA.
Basicly unlock bootloader via Revolution method S-OFF flash standard RUU (I suggest a 1.28 version so OTA can be checked) and OTA Then relock bootloader and go back S-ON voila standard HTC.
I did it myself with a dutch branded HTC from T-Mobile and made a tutorial in dutch.

can it be done with sprint one too?
If it can be unlocked and S-OFF via revolution I don't see why not. When a RUU is then installed it makes it a standard HTC edition
Won't work on Sprint. The Dev edition is GSM only.

can it do voice over LTE?
Sprint still uses CDMA radios and the Dev edition RUU won't have one.
Also the Sprint phone has a different partition layout than the Dev edition.
The boot partition on GSM phones is the partition number Sprint uses for the radio if I remember correctly

For the sake of simplicity I'll add the Dev edition doesn't support CDMA. Better?
OK no need to treat me like a noob .Did some reading into CDMA and GSM and the sprint version is just different alltogether. The Netherlands/Europe doesn't work like that with different models dor a specific provider.
We have a couple of providers that use the same phone but for example a differnet frequency for GSM 2G 3G 4G etc. CDMA isn't at all available here. or as I understand anywhere outside the US.
So if Sprint uses CDMA I'm afraid it might not work when de Dev edition of the rom hasn't got CDMA support.
You could turn the sprint One into a gsm one it has both radios, just check your gsm needs as it is extremely lacking on how many frequencies it actually has.

its not about the fact that it has both radios. its just the plain simple fact that Sprint uses CDMA for almost all of its phone and data capabilties and the fact that since the HTC ONE/GE only has a GSM version. if you indeed flash an OTA from the GE version it wont have CDMA drivers and therefore you'll basically have a 600 dollar HTC Ipod touch.
I want to flash CleanROM 6.0 on my international HTC One but unfortunately this ROM is made for AT&T only. I live outside the US where the LTE bands supported by the local carriers are completely different from those supported by AT&T.
If I flash CleanROM 6.0 and a radio that supports the LTE bands in my region, will I still be able to use LTE with my phone or will the ROM keep me to AT&T LTE bands only?

Roms do not contain radios. You should be able the flash it with no problems. The data may display wrong in the status bar, but actual speeds should not be effected .

I recently came to US with my HTC ONE M7 (801n), and my sim card is t-mobile USA. My m7 can't find any signal anywhere. I think that's a problem with my old baseband in my home country.
Is there any baseband that can work on t-mobile USA?
Thanks !

This is a CDMA device ,so using with a global SIM with show it as GSM since its in GSM mode which supports upto HSDPA, if u need 3G icons u need to root and phone and follow this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2594804
