28.0.A.8.272 update wifi tethering hotspot issue - Xperia Z4/Z3+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Tethering is not working after 28.0.A.8.272 firmware upgrade can anyone confirm the same? How to solve wifi tethering issue?

hey, i allready got this issue! but you will need to have root to fix it. Is a flag on a Android Database file that blocks 'hotspot' function. You can downgrade back to 266 or wait for a other region 272 firmware.
By the way, this firmware it's better in some aspect? How is the cpu clock on it?

de98cdb63018aa375eacd009d5da0cb3 E6553_28.0.A.8.272_TW.ftf
This is Taiwan version. I tried it little bit ... and roll back to 251. It crashed/reboot when I have xposed with it. I could not get its boot.img, I have to flash boot.img from 251, maybe that was the cause.

I haven't seen much difference in the cpu speed. I have attached antutu benchmark screen, hope that's useful.

Hi Guys !
Ver .272 TW with Ver .266 Generic is same ?

Someone here can check the processor speed clock with cpuinfo?

hey guys kernel of 266 regular staff works in vesao 272 can use , I am using http://click.xda-developers.com/api...ww.mediafire.com/download/qw...z3%2B+boot.rar

[Q] Upgrading From Honecomb 3.1 to 3.2

Hi people,
Having an issue with my GT 8.9" P7300 3G.
Trying to flash the kernel with _Motley's version so i can overclock the CPU, using the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1344330
The thing is my device's android version is 3.1 and when I press on Software update from setting -> about device, i get nothing , it says i have the latest version.
However, in Motleys tutorial there's no zip file for 3.1 3G, I download and flashed the wi-fi one for 3.1 and it was installed with no problems, the only thing obviously was the 3G.
Anyhow, i decided to upgrade the ROM from 3.1 to 3.2 so then I could flash the kernel. Am i doing the right thing? Do I have other (better) alternatives?
Yet, i couldn't find any way to upgrade from 3.1 to 3.2.
Please give me advises on doing so, any help is very much appreciated.
You can flash any stock 3.2 P7300 rom you find in development section. This is the newest > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1443475
You can find a guide on how to use Odin there > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406137
For the firmware i linked to, you only need to use the "PDA" button to select the .md5 file you downloaded. Don't touch any other settings.
Cool,
Thanks. I'll give this a try and come back with the result...
EDIT:
Forgot to ask you: does the ROM you post the link to have support for 3G too?
I see in your signature you have Android 4.0.3 P7300 alpha1, have you done overclocking for your device too?
Do you suggest to me to upgrade to 4.0 instead of 3.2? Just want to have your opinion
Installed and its running OK.
The 3G is also fine... only one thing: the loading at boot takes a bit longer time than 3.1.
But its OK ... not a big deal.

I don't see the need to OC ICS. Everything runs a lot faster even without OC. But keep in mind that it's a alpha, camera and hw video acceleration doesn't work.
Overclocking does not really help. I flashed motley and made extensive benchmarks to compare before and after and the improvements per marks were promising. But when it becomes to lagging, u will experience more lags whencit comes to overclocking. So i dont recommend it. Aside of battery drainage.

Is it a good idea to underclock my EVA-L19?

The reason i want to do this is to reduce the battery drain. Ever since i got the stupid nougat update the device gets hot AF when i'm using facebook or whatsapp and it drains battery very quickly, i get 3h on screen time before i need to recharge. So:
1. is there a threshold i should consider? (i know overclocking hurts the processor, but does underclocking does that too?)
2. what's the best tool i should use?
3. is there a solution yet for the battery problem with nougat on p9? or did huawei said anything about it?
4. is it gonna make any difference?

i found this. will the mentioned method void my warranty, i'm not rooted nor i have a custom recovery. and where is a trustworthy place that i should download the image from?
also i'm eva-l19 3gb ram and it says eva-l09 4gb ram, would that make a difference?
thanks
What the version of the firmware do you have ??
You can downgrade to B378; I made it after an upgrade at B383 (with the same problems with the battery drain).

No Nougat Update for SM-G610Y

Can anyone help me with this.
All the other versions of the J7 Prime (G610F & G610M) have recieved 7.0 Nougart update 6 months ago.
My phone is pretty much the same underneath as the rest of these, No my phone is not carrier locked.
I'm not the only one having this issue, there are a lot of people in the Philippines, Pakistan and here in New Zealand who are wanting this update and cant get it.
Samsung wont tell me anything no matter how much I ask their help desk and support team
I feel like as a customer I deserve to at least know why I haven't got this update but the rest of the world has, and not get continuously told to turn auto updates on when its already on.
Same device bro
Bro, i am a Y variant and i'm on PH. We don't have a choice but to install custom rom to taste the nougat android. Just root your phone, install TWRP then install custom rom like NovaOS or Lineage OS 15.1 for J7 Prime. Just search it and you can find it.
Same issue here...just installed Xenos Rom and its more than enough for me with the features....there are other roms as well
same ;(
Ah, those lazy Samsung coding teams...
My condolences, but you can always install the ROM closest to stock.
Australia G610Y received the Nougat update released April 11, 2018. The ROM is now available for download at SamMobile

I'n sad to say it but Samsung will not be releasing Nougat on our units
here's an email from samsung:
Thank you for contacting Samsung Philippines.
This is to acknowledge the receipt of your e-mail regarding Nougat update for your Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime (SM-G9610Y). We are here to provide you with necessary information about your concern.
Upon checking, Nougat will no longer be available for J7 Prime units released in the Philippine market. Kindly note that Samsung needs to perform multiple tests to ensure the compatibility of the software to the hardware as well as the security of the user.
However, after series of test, Samsung product and development team has decided not to release the nougat update due to some possible incompatibility issue.

I actually downloaded their Nougat based stock rom and flashed it using ODIN. No problems so far... it's just that you won't be able to use their country specific apps which I think is not a big deal.

There are no specific apps for Philippines G610Y except when you purchase through a Telco where settings like boot screen / default web pages all point to the Telco. Flashing Aussie Official G610Y ROM should be fine. In fact this should be a good base to create a custom ROM as it may contain updated drivers and the like.
I been running the Nougat Note FE XenOS v.1.1 without any problem so i dont need to worry bout waiting for an update from OTA

One minor problem I have encountered so far now is whenever I switch to 3G/2G on network mode, it doesn't survive the reboot. It reverts nback to 2G/3G/LTE mode. Other than that the Stock ROm is stable so far. Battery life is incredible.

Need to troubleshoot 1x1. First, I noticed you are using Oxygen kernel. It could probably be an incompatibility with this one.
Another, which I can think of is incompatibility of CSC part if you didnt change your original.

It was still present when I was still using the stock kernel. About the CSC though I have no idea. But maybe you're right because I flashed the original CSC tar.md5 file that came straight from the stock Aussie Nougat ROM. I don't know how I can change it. (Perhaps flash the stock CSC from MM?)

I checked my csc if it changed , and yes it was changed together with xenos. So it might be something else. But then there are CSCs which are not multi CSCs. So i could be wrong.
Edit: ok i did some googling. CSC doesnt affect network selection its the baseband part. You can install phone info samsung to check what versions you are in.

Just tried flashing the old MM modem.bin Seems to work like a charm. Although the network mode still reverts the 2G/3G/4G mode, I'm getting consistent 2G signals now and no more signal drops. I just use 4G whenever I use the phone outside where there is no wifi or when I use Navigation apps like Waze. I assume it'll get the 4G/LTE signal when the signal is strong enough.

That still puzzles me as well. No matter how many reboots I do it just doesn't want to stick to 2G/3G mode.

Can you kindly guide me on how to flash modem.bin? I flashed NZ Nougat stock ROM on PH-bought G610Y and I'm having problem switching network mode when using dual sim. If I disable sim 2 I have no problem. But when both sims are enabled I can't swith sim 1 from 2G only to 4G/3G/2G. Switching doesn't do anything. It's stuck in 2G only.
Do I simply flash the file that starts with "CP"?
Update: I went ahead and flashed the CP file from Marshmallow and problem is fixed. Thanks for the tip!

I am experiencing problems with the new facebook app on XenOS v.1.1 FB is important for me because I need it for work. So, I decided to flash the New Zealand Nougat G610Y. Here are the steps I took for successful installation official nougat on Philippine based phone:
1. I flashed latest XTC G610Y MM so all partitions contain XTC (Philippines) based settings/customizations (BL / AP / CP / CSC)
2. I flashed G610YZTU1BRC3 Nougat (BL / AP) only which means CP/CSC remains XTC (xtc is multi CSC)
3. after step 2 finishes flashing from ODIN, it will encounter an error, but it will go to recovery mode
4. at recovery mode, I simply reboot the system and enjoyed a fresh copy of Nougat
I did not encounter any problem with network selection and tested rebooting it as well. Hope that helps your problem.
Please Assist me on this (i mean step by step instructions..)

702SO to Global Mode

Hi there,
I flashed the Global rom from Brazil to my 702SO using the guide here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KIru7vN5bzI
Anyone who did the same thing? Do you have issues in battery life? Because I got battery issue due to NFC with my XZ1 AU when I flashed the global rom.
Please let us know if you encounter the same.
Thanks
after few attempts, flashed and works fine. no battery drain due to NFC
deep sleep is working when checked by cpu spy reloaded

just use the latest Newflasher tool, you can download here in XDA
in case first attempts are failed and the device says corrupted, you'll only need to flash it again.
after flashing, no battery drain here. I can see that the phone is going deep sleep when i verify with CPU Spy Reloaded
I would like to tune in for you. I also have a plan to flash the 702SO to international, taking down Japanese and SoftBank bloats and free up space for games. Genshin Impact is an good example, whereas these bloats nerfs the game's framerate. Any way on how to do it?

How can i update firmware, without risk?

I bought a used S10e. It is Android 9, and OTA not find newer FW.
Can i change the SW without risk?
Have you a noob tutorial, how can i do it?
Which ROM is suggested? Which have minimal bugs, and great battery time?
Android 9

For a coffee. I did not know how.
Ha said it need server to fix kernel so i can not update, or something.
But he fix the kernel from remote, with USB redirector, then upload FW with ODin.
He suggested this: SM-G970F_DBT_G970FXXU9ETLJ.zip
