Yeah need a stock recovery as well. I have a Boost Mobile Desire 626s. On 5.1 I think. TWRP runs fine on it. But I'm switching to another phone. I want to return it to stock. I'd use the RUU. But the only one available is for just Sprint. It works fine with the phone, but then it will lose the Boost Mobile boot animation. Want to avoid that.
I tried pulling the recovery_signed.img from the RUU and flashing just that. But get red triangle of death when I try to boot recovery mode.
The other stock recovery I found around here also results in red triangle of death. Currently stuck on TWRP and as a result who ever gets this phone after me won't be able to install future OTA updates. Kinda of a problem.
The phone model as shown in the download mode menu is "htc_a32ewhl"
With "OS-1.24.651.2" and date of "Nov 6 2015, 18:12:10(650321)"
I tried to flash that recovery_signed.img and I get ant error in cmd and don't know how to fix it, maybe someone can help, because I need working recovery for updating to marshmallow:
Code:
target reported max download size of 16773120 bytes
Invalid sparse file format at header magi
I need stock recovery too, maybe someone can share :/

My bootloader is unlocked, it is s-on. I don't get any error, I just can't enter to recovery mode, I think I flashed the wrong one and now it's corrupted. When I click on recovery, I just get back to HBOOT menu and can't enter to recovery. When updating the phone, the same, because phone can enter to recovery. When I click 'install now' it reboots and gets into fastboot, because can't access to recovery.
When I try to flash recovery_signed.img which uploaded one guy in this thread I get error in fastboot:

Okay you didnt wipe anything did you?
If you did not your OS is still intact.
Flash this its TWRP recovery for our 626s.
https://twrp.me/devices/htcdesire626s.html
Go to fastboot and flash that like you would any other recovery. "fastboot flash recovery filename.img" where filename is the exact name of that recovery.then try rebooting your phone into the regular OS.if you dont have one,and it wont boot,i can try and offer you further instructions.do you know if your provider is GSM?

It is currently uploading to Mega.nz due to the size. Once it's uploaded i will post the link to it.
in the mean while you can check to see if this is the right file for you.
the file name is as follows:-

Hi,
I was just installing the CM 10.1 ROM and I received the error "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped". After this, I tried to reinstall the stock boot.img I got from Android Revolution and I seem to have lost everything on the phone. When connected via USB, the phone folders are normally shown, but now they aren't. As well, when trying to boot, I get stuck at the HTC logo screen. I tried fastboot flash boot boot.img but I keep receiving the error that the device can't be detected and/or the partition "boot.img" can't be found. I did cd c:\Root (my rooting folder) beforehand and boot.img is in there. How do I factory reset as in reinstall original OS with HTC Sense 5 UI on it so that everything went back to when I took it out of the box? If there's a way to do it via TWRP which I have installed, I would love to know how.

i dont think you can flash that type of file. download a rom that is in zip format then flash it or you might be able to use all in one toolkit to push the file u you have to the phone.
but i recommend getting a zip file that is proven to work for you device

im not sure but i dont think you can flash those. i think you may have to use adb and push the rom to the phone
I am a newbie trying to root htc one(att) , after I installed the 4.2.2 it began to keep restarting,I tought it was because I didn't wipe my data before I flash a new ROM, so i enter the TWRP and wanna wipe data and try again.
But I selected all the options and wiped everything on the cellphone including the OS, so now I can enter the bootloader, and I can enter the recovery, but I can't find the "USB storage" in the computer , so how can I transfer the rom to the storage and flash again?
Thank you very much
Search on how to use sideload command
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
You know what ADB and Fastboot are I assume? if not, I'll explain more.
But you have to do the following:
- download a rom of your choice on your pc (or use one you already have on there)
- put it in your ADB folder (for example for me C:\Users\Thom\Downloads\One\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20130219\sdk\platform-tools)
- then open a command window in that folder (shift+right click on the folder, or in a cmd window use the cd command)
- use the command "adb push ROM.zip /sdcard/ROM.zip" replacing ROM with the EXACT name of the ROM file and including the .zip piece on both ends. This may take a minute or two...or four, but you will see a message in Command Prompt saying something like <12345678kb to 1234567kb>. That is just telling you that the file was pushed properly.
Hi, thank you for the help. I followed your guide and successfully transfer the zip into the phone. But when I enter the recovery and try to install, it failed and says:
E: unable to mount /cache
E: unable to mount /data
E: unable to mount /system
E: unable to mount internal storage
I click the mount option in the recovery , there are 4 box (cache, data,system,USB-OTG), but I can't choose any of them.
Also at the bottom of the box it says that"Storage: Internal Storage (0MB)"

ok, I'll try to help.
I had the exact same problem yesterday (I was being a bit dumb and accidently pressed the wrong button ) and I managed to solve it.
Okay, here is the RUU. Download it, it may take a while.
http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1847-ruu-m7-ul-jb-50-cingular-12650212exe/
So while it's downloading, start with preparing.
First of all, did you flash the new firmware already? If so, go back to the old one. I'm not sure if the AT&T has same firmware as the international, if it does I can give you a link because I still have it on my pc.
You can flash it with "fastboot oem rebootRUU" (case sensitive!)
then when you see a htc logo on your phone "fastboot flash zip firmware.zip" (replace firmware with actual file name)
THEN FLASH IT AGAIN, OTHERWISE IT WON'T WORK AND YOU'LL BE BRICKED
then if it says succesful, use "fastboot reboot". Then go back into bootloader.
then, flash stock recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2158763)
after that, relock your device (command is "fastboot oem relock")
so after the RUU finished downloading, try to run it.
Any problems, I'll keep an eye on this thread
Thank you . I am now at the htc grey logo status.
Since I dont know what firmware is I am afraid to take the next step.
Whats the firmware you've talked about? Is it OS? like 4.2.2 OS zip file?

No, the firmware package for the HBoot, Radio, etc.
I assume you didn't flash it when going to 4.2.2?
Or did you take the official 4.2.2 update before?
No, I didn't flah firmware when going to 4.2.2.
When my phone is good, all I did is I just copied the 4.2.2 to the phone and install in the recovery status.
Then the 4.2.2 keeps restarting and then I deleted everything on the phone .

You can always unlock it again if it doesn't work, so there isn't much of a risk

the problem here isn't the firmware he flashed the 4.2.2 rom, which uses the storage a bit different.
The problem he has is caused by the fact he didn't clear SD directly after flashing (needed if you jump from custom rom 4.1.2 to 4.2.2)
it could have been easy, but he can't boot into his rom, everything is gone. If he could boot it would be waaaaaaay easier, would only require a few ADB commands
OK, now I run the RUU, the phone is in the grey htc status,.It says gonna take 10 mins, hope it will be fine :victory:

before you flash 4.2.2, take the official OTA
or if you don't have it yet, first flash the 4.2.2 firmware (can be found in the ARHD thread) and then after the rom is done installing, wipe the sd card

Before i relock i can load a cwm recovery.
In the recovery i try everything: cache, data, system wipe - factory reset (failed and reload everytime) - try via sideload to install a custom rom (loading the file to device but cannot install...)
After that i read more about the device and i want back to clean stock......but now the only working is fastboot mode to managed the device via PC.
One thing i wont to try was the install a nandroid backup via OTG cable....but this works only in a recovery - right?
It would be nice to unlock the bootloader again so that i came back to recovery...but how?
The fastboot command " fastboot oem unlock" wont work...command error???!!!!!

Better to use TWRP 2.6.3.3 not CWM, some roms can't be flashed correctly with CWM.

normal, only fastboot from bootloader, and ADB from recovery or from booted OS.
One thing i wont to try was the install a nandroid backup via OTG cable....

but this works only in a recovery - right?
THis might be an option if you find a anandroid backup for your version.

right, if you use a twrp nandroid, restore it using twrp. If you use a CWM nandroid, restore using CWM.
It would be nice to unlock the bootloader again so that i came back to recovery...but how?
The fastboot command " fastboot oem unlock" wont work...command error???!!!!!

fastboot oem unlock can't be used on your phone version, you must use HTCdev.com if you want to unlock the bootloader.
Have you finally checked MD5 value of your ruu?
Many many thanks for your detailed reply!!!!
The MD5 of the first RUU was okay.
It still does not work. Wrong imaging ....
Meanwhile, I have downloaded another: "RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_HTC_Europe_1.28.401.7_Radio_4A.13.3231.27_10.31.11.31.05_release_310878_signed".
I try to install but during the prozess comes a message: wrong bootloader........ grrrrrr
Now i will dowload your recommendation on post two today or tomorrow and give that a try....i hope this RUU work...

1.28.401.7 is a downgrade and you can't downgrade with S-ON, you must use a ruu same or higher version installed on your phone (1.29.401.10 +)
So,
i downloaded your recommendation:
"RUU M7 UL K44 SENSE55 MR HTC Europe 4.19.401.9 R Radio 4A.23.3263.28 10.38r.1157.04L Release 353069 Signed 2-1"
and try to install but i get imaging error.
The phone shows the silver htc logo and aborted during pushing the files to the device with this imaging error message.....
MD5 matched!
Is this also the wrong RUU??
Somehow I can not get to the target Very disappointing ...
Any ideas?
I get the unlock code from htcdev.com.
Better work with unlocked device (recovery, sideload, nandroid backup option via OTG cable)???
I have solved the problem:
That's what I did:
Unlock the bootloader via htcdev.com.
Get the cwm recovery back .
Flash the current cwm recovery via fastboot (my recovery was a little bit outdated).
Flash via sideload cm11 Rom.
Device booting until the bootanimation :victory:
Back to recovery do all the wipe stuff.
And yes i have fully working device now
Great!
But unfortunately I have not a RUU to get back to the factory defaults ....
But there are still a few RUU or nandroid backups that I can try ...
I've got this phone from rogers, its been stuck in a boot loop, and I am trying to get the ruu to revert it to stock. The one on HTC's website doesn't work. Can anyone help me?

It does work. Your problem is you need to relock the bootloader if you unlocked it and you also 100% need the stock recovery image because if you have Philz Touch Recovery installed it's going to block the RUU from working and that's part of HTC's security measures.

I tried relocking the bootloader and used the ruu but I got an error 155, they said I had the wrong image. I have TWRP recovery installed. And the device wont even boot into that. How do I get the stock image?

First you need to find out whether or not your phone is 32 or 64 bit so remove the battery and replace it then hold the volume down button and press the power button at the same time then type everything you see on your HBoot screen here so I can see it.

Go over here to twrp website twrp 2.8.7.0 HTC Desire 510 then make sure this image file downloads into your minimal adb and fastboot folder on the computer and it MUST be inside the folder then open a command window within the folder and try flashing the recovery file but first change the name I.E rename the file to recovery.img and then do fastboot flash recovery recovery.img after that type adb reboot recovery and see if it worked.

I don't know then. I don't have enough information about it to help. Don't know if you are 32 or 64 bit. Don't know if you have a stock recovery I really don't know much. I'm pretty sure you're not doing something right... Go over the steps of everything you've done so far please.

You need to download a rom and flash it... You can try whichever roms on here you want since your phone is 32 bit.. CM11 is good and so is RaptorRom.. But you can use whatever as long AS it IS for the Desire 510... Download a rom, place it on your SD card and go into recovery an tap install and choose the rom that you put on the SD card... Make sure you read the thread of whichever rom you download since some need a specific Kernel or wifi fix.. Also some times twrp will be set to internal storage and you will need to select the SD storage at the top of the window after you tap install...

Just download a stock rom from one of the threads.
Think new thread needs to be started too separate the different hardware configurations of the htc 626 this is for the a32_ul hardware with Qualcomm snapdragon 410 4 core 64bit activated hardware.
as the htc626s has rooting method that is not compatible to the a32_ul type as the htc 626 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 hardware.
This Thread is for HTC 626 A32_UL Qualcomm snapdragon 410 :good:
I am not able to make a twrp recovery for the htc626 a32_ul phone type , i have looked at uncompiled images of boot and recovery images and see such image learning path that i doubt i am capable to build such custom rom or method to root this phone myself, so started this thread to one separate the rooting method of htc626s and to encourage others that more able than me to create a custom rom for the htc 626 a32_ul chip-set
.
Custom Recovery(s) for a32_ul Desire 626
So I managed to get two image files and when doing the fastboot boot command, it didn't display the error for not having a dtb as the recovery is rebuilt for this device (as far as I can see anyway). I flashed each file as well to try each of them that way instead of the boot command as the boot command just froze the phone and both gave the same result. It will boot into recovery mode but will have a blank screen and not do anything.
I'll link the files download links, as well as the source as to where I downloaded the files here below. All credit should go to the creators of the files.
Try them out and see if you can get them working yourself.
As a note, I am unable to post links due to the account type I have as it is now so put mediafire before those links with a forward slash. Also, one is for TWRP 2.8.0.0 and one is 2.8.7.0. Anyway...
?ubuhbdj0ygdkcqb
and
?bviw88iyrgmyef8
Source: type twrp a32_ul into google and it will be on the website known as ai-development
Good luck and let me know if you make any progress with these.

Didn't manage to root my device using that instructions... device - a32_ul, A-5.1 build 1.09.401.6
Downloaded and flashed the twrp recovery downloaded from here as per the OPs post,
http://www.Mediafire.com/?bviw88iyrgmyef8
but as stated by OP all I get is a blank screen. These recovery images are obviously intended for the 32 bit variant and not the 64bit..... Now I need a stock UL32-EMEA to reflash my recovery....

Thanks for that Frank.
Slight issue tho, unless I am being really stupid,
When I extract the recovery_signed.img file from the zip, it comes out at 28.6mb, when I try to flash it Fastboot errors .
C:\ADB>fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img
target reported max download size of 16773120 bytes
Invalid sparse file format at header magi.
What am I missing. I presume that my recovery partition is only 16mb?
