Can I install the Latest Maximus ROM on 2.11.531.19? - T-Mobile HTC One (M9)

Pretty much what it says in the title. I want to install MaximusHD and try out cm13 but I don't accidentally want to install a ROM that isn't supported. Thanks.
Oh and, I don't have S-OFF, Unlocked Bootloader, TWRP and currently running the Deodexed Tmobile rom from this forum.

No, You need to be S-off to flash the MM firmware and also need to super cid.

What exactly is Super CID? I'm still pretty new to rooting on HTC so I'm not too sure about these kind of things.

Cid is your carrier ID. T-Mobile is T-MOB010
When you super Cid, what it does is change that to all ones (11111111) which allows you to be able to flash other carriers firmware to your device.
Then you can flash other carriers roms.
To flash the latest Maximus, which is Marshmallow, since T-Mobile does not yet have the firmware for it , we need to flash the International firmware for Marshmallow.
Also to flash the International firmware, we need to make sure the MID (model ID) matches your device MID which is in the android-info.txt in the firmware zip. For T-Mobile its 0PJA12000.
Here is a guide that might help.
I suggest you do some research on this before attempting it.
Hope this helps

So do we have to edit the android-info.txt to have modelid: 0PJA12000? or just as long as we have the right CID?

I'm sort of in the same boat and have been trying to find an answer. I have an unlocked bootloader, but no S-OFF. I would like to try a custom LP rom, would I still be able to install one without changing from the 2.11.531.19 firmware?

Thanks. The other issue I'm having is backing up my stock recovery, I tried the "fastboot boot twrp.img" while in download mode, but my phone just shows that the img downloaded 100%, but it just hangs after that and doesn't actually boot into TWRP. I've tried looking for a stock recovery on XDA for my CID (T-MOB010), but I haven't had any luck.

I flashed this via fastboot, but when I reboot into it I'm seeing the phone graphic graphic a red triangle+exclamation point. I rebooted and tried to update to marshmallow, but it keeps failing with that same graphic after 20%. Any thoughts as to why this may be happening?

[Q]OTA fails to install - help to find why

Hello, I have HTC One Intl (see my signature) on everything stock. Phone is S-off and rooted. Yesterday I had seen 4.3 OTA notification, downloaded it and tried to install, but installation failed in recovery (red triangle with exclamation). I've tried it several times, but no luck - phone reboots to recovery, installation process begins and fails at ~30 per cent.
Help me find out, why it happens (maybe i can find installation log somewhere, but don't know where to search) and how to install this update.
You need:
- Stock Recovery
- Stock rom without root
- Locked/Relocked bootloader
After your phone can install the OTA.

Recovery is stock.
Can I use Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper to temporary unroot? At least it gives such possibility, don't know will it work or not.
Is locked/relocked bootloader obligatory? if yes, I will search how to relock it again.
Thanks.

Dont mean to intrude, but I'm pretty sure he can leave the bootloader unlocked, even root I think
He does need to have stock recovery, stock rom (including the preloaded apps that get deleted when unlocking), I think that's about it.

make sure the "preload" apps are for your version, mate!!
If you signature is correct: "ROM: Stock 2.24.401.8 (Android 4.2.2)" Maybe just best to use the Guru Reset ROM.
EDIT: I recommend full backup to PC first though, just in case!!

BTW: the reason I mentioned the backup to PC, is one time I flashed stock recovery (and accessed it), and i was unpleasantly surprised it wiped my internal storage.

I know it's a bit of a hassle but at least you would be able to confirm if ROOT or unlocked bootloader are interfering with the update

[Q] Trouble flashing any roms and RUU

I upgraded to 4.06.651.4. HBoot 1.56 Unlocked S-On
Using TWRP 2.6.3.0, I am unable to successfully flash any roms. Everything is successfully installed but all exhibit the same behavior. Boots up and when I unlock the lockscreen, I get the "htcdialer is taking too long" or whatever. No matter what I do there, it will eventually reboot (within 1 minute or so). Tried flashing some aosp roms but they do not fully boot.
Tried locking bootloader and running RUU 3.05.651.6 (which seems to be the latest) but it always fails with an unknown error, which is likely because I'm trying to downgrade firmware? Problem is there doesn't appear to be a 4.06 RUU yet.
Any ideas?

[Q] HTC One update with unlocked SIM

HTC One update with unlocked SIM
Hello everyone,
This is my first post on this forum and I apologize if the post is in the wrong category. And sorry for the android rookie questions, but I really need your help.
I own HTC One
I bought it with SIM lock
Phone has custom recovery (TeamWin) and it is s-OFF. I am not sure that I understand completely what this means but I found out this facts while reading this forum.
At the end, phone is unlocked (SIM unlock) by local service store (40 EUR).
I would like to update the software and OTA update does not work.
I would be grateful for step by step instructions how to update the phone software and not to SIM-lock the phone again.
My biggest concern is not to pay again for SIM unlock.
You have attached screenshots…
Thank you!

To receive and install OTA updates you need to have the stock recovery on your device. If you re-flash the stock recovery, you can install the OTA update. Once it has properly installed you can go replace stock recovery with TWRP.
I'm pretty sure it won't re-apply the SIM-lock to your phone, but I wouldn't like to say for certain. (Mine came already unlocked)

That's not true. Just have to install the stock recovery, then you can do the OTA update. After the update, reinstall either CWM or TWRP and flash SuperSU or Superuser to regain root. The OTA should not affect SIM unlock at all, at least it never has in my experience.
honestly it would be easier to just go with a custom rom since hes already s-off and custom recovery
OP. 2. options.
1. Flash this recovery, and hit the OTA check button. http://d-h.st/M4R
2. Download this RUU package: http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...31.27_10.31.1131.05_release_310878_signed.exe

yes you can update your firmware and flash a custom rom, if your looking for a close to stock experience i would advise ARHD 51
I just wanted to chime in and assure you that your sim unlock will not be affected by flashing custom ROMs, RUUs, firmwares, radios, recoveries, etc. I have flashed everything under the sun on my One and have retained my sim unlock.

1) http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_ul_jb_50_htc_europe_1-20-401-1_radio_4a-13-3227-06_10-27-1127-01_release_308001_signed_2_4-exe/

Are these OK and which to use?
If these are not OK which should I use?
Please, please, I just need this one info.
Let me ask different question:
Is it must for RUU to match version-main?
My version is on the picture (1.29.401.12) and I found only one RUU for this version but not for my CID (HTC__032).
What to do?

The important thing to verify is that your CID matches what the RUU is designed for. On either of those RUU's you mention, look in the comments section of the post and see the CIDs. As long as you have one of those CIDs, you can install it.
Also, if you look at the RUU version number (1.20.401.1), you notice the third number in the sequence is "401". This signifies the WWE (World Wide Edition) version, so it will work with the majority of devices. The .401 firmwares are what most custom ROMs are based on, and are generally considered to be the most compatible. I am running a .401 firmware on my AT&T device without any issues. So any RUU with a .401 version would work for you.

No, the version-main doesn't need to match. That is just the current firmware version you have installed. If you install an RUU, it will update you to whatever version the RUU is based on. The only thing, if your device is still s-on, you can't install an RUU with a LOWER version than what is shown in version-main. You can upgrade with an RUU if you are s-on, just not downgrade.
The important thing is to find an RUU that works with CID "HTC__032".
Hmm... both those RUUs are lower than what you currently have, so they won't run with s-on. If you really want to be able to run the RUU, you're going to have to s-off so you can run the lower RUU, then update with the OTA.
If you're not ready for doing s-off, you might want to think about just leaving it as is, installing a custom recovery like TWRP, and flashing a custom stock ROM like the ARHD Stock Rom. You can't get OTA, but that's alright because it already is updated. Any of the custom ROMs will work fine with .401 firmwares like you have. I would recommend this route over the s-off and RUU method, honestly, that's a lot of work for little gain, unless you just absolutely must get back to stock.
Anyway, hope this helps!

Does anyone have a hk edition stock recovery? I'm on the .13 firmware, I've restored my stock nandroid but I need a hk edition recovery to take the ota. Make sure the rom you are on is as close to stock as possible.
Downgrading to a KK rom = yes
Downgrading firmware = no
Easiest way to run Sunshine is to RUU.

I tried it right after reinstalling the 6.16 RUU and it did not fly.
I can't remember if I was rooted at the time (yesterday)

Unless something changed in v3.0 of Sunshine you don't have to be rooted or unlocked.

The Sunshine apk should look for updates before it begins.
You cannot use the 5.02 RUU because you are s-on.
Have you tried going to their IRC channel to see if they can guide you?

Thanks for your help.
I'm not a Sprint customer and never have been and it's been a while since I have had an HTC product.
My problems would be solved if I could downgrade the firmware, I did install a unsecured Kernel but it did not matter.

Kernel is most likely the problem.

I first tried stock and went from there, it's been a no go through all the changes.
The Sunshine apk I tried to use was not new enough.
The later version worked.
Now to sim unlock it, any ideas for doing this on this rom version?

Most of that is really old and no longer works (so far)
Use the most recent sprint ruu to return to stock
I just went through this yesterday. I was having the same problem.
I'm on sprint so my solution should apply.
1. Return to stock with the sprint Lollipop ruu
2. Get unlock from htcdev - - > unlock your bootloader
3. Flash the latest version of twrp
4. Boot into twrp, then reboot system.
4a. Twrp should prompt you to install su and obtain root
4b. Let twrp root your system.
5. Let the phone complete the su install via twrp
6. Get sunshine s-off
7. Pay $25
8. Enjoy s-off
I was able to reach the hidden screen and select the "sim lock" but backing out and rebooting from the sim unlock helper screen did not work.
I had to select "reboot" from the same menu located just a couple of items up from the Sim lock selection. Make sure "Data" is on and GSM is selected.
I was successful only on the "Viper 1.0.0 rom.
I now have a working T-mobile connection..
