Charging with the fast charger mainly overnight - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys. So I Was wondering whether it damages the battery to charge with the fast charger. If so, should I charge with a standard charger instead?
I was also wondering if it is ok to charge the phone overnight with the fast charger.
Thanks!

Galaxy Note 5 includes auto-discharged feature, even with fast charger. I dont know clearly what your Galaxy Note 5 model is, mine is 9208. When I try to charge with cable charger or fast charger, my phone automatically discharges with all charger when fully charged and LED notification turns to green.
I have not tested with wireless charger so I have no idea.

Charging question for the EE's

Throughout a day I charge my Tilt from a variety of sources: the stock charger, my old Apache's charger, my PC, car charger, my Moto headset charger ...
Looking at them all the only difference I see listed is the amperage.
The Stock charger is 1Amp, so is the Apache's
The Moto charger is 550mA
iGo Charger is 1.5Amp
no idea what the PC or the car charger output is.
I am assuming that the differences in amperage would simply effect how quickly the battery charges to full. Is that correct?
Maybe also that a fully depleted battery would need a full 1Amp charger to begin charging ... the 550mAmp might not cut it for a fully depleted battery.
Would charging with a lower amp charger (550mA) or a higher amp charger (1.5A) have any long term negative impact on the charging or overall battery life?
Just curious ...

The amp rating is the normal maximum current that can flow from the particular charger. They all are spec'd to put out a regulated 5V but the current comes into play if you are using the phone at the same time as charging. If the phone draws more than the charger can supply then it's going to take longer to charge or may not fully charge. Normal charger is 1A and with that the phone can be used most likely at the same time. With a 550ma charger I'd turn the phone off (standby) to ensure a full charge in a reasonable time.
None should affect battery life, just time to reach full. The charge lite on the phone is your guide, when it's amber, it's charging, green it's full, simple as that.
The only thing that will harm the lithium is to take the phone to dead for long periods, that's the hardest thing on a lithium.

Quick Charging Problems

I purchased my Verizon Galaxy S6 Edge from Best Buy and it came with the free wireless charger.
I've found that when using the white charger that came with the phone is charges extremely slow. If I use the wireless charger or one of my other phones chargers its fine and charges at the normal rate.
1.) Plugged phone in at 45% w/stock white charger I get 4hr till 100%. Using Ampere it's an average of 90mA-170mA.
2.) Charging at 45% w/wireless charger it says 1hr 37min till 100%. Reading from Ampere is 270mA-390mA.
3.) Plugged in at 45% w/diff cell charger it says 1hr till 100%. Reading from Ampere is 700mA-1000mA.
So, obviously #3 charges the phone a hell of a lot faster. (More like the speed of the s5)
Anyone else having same or other issues when it comes to charging?

Samsung Wireless charger (wireless charging)

So i have noticed that with the Samsung wireless charger i got with my phone. That somehow the charger itself knows when the phone is fully charged or being charged.
Once the phone is fully charged the wireless charger stops charging. This is annoying because i put my phone on the wireless charger when i go to bed. Now when i wake up the phone is not at 100% because it stopped charging.
Also with my old LG wireless charger the phone does not want to work with it. It charges but the charge light on the charger is yellow indicating its slow charging.

HTC One M7 Charging Problem

I always charge my phone using 5V 1A conventional charger, never use original HTC charger because it's so slow (I'm talking about 0-100% in 14h)
Tonight I leave it charging when I'm sleeping, yes I usually do that. I woke up with no power on my phone, so my phone don't charge in a whole night.
So basically when using conventional charger it won't charge my phone anymore. But when i use the original one, it's charging.
What's really happen? Why I no longer can charge with conventional charger?
And why my original charger takes 14h to get full charge?
Conventional charger is dead.
Also check the usb cable.
Good luck.

Question Wireless charging 9w

Hi, I have a question.. I bought Samsung wireless charger 9w and I charged the phone completely switched off and the charging time was approximately 4 hours.. Is it normal? Maybe the wireless charging not working in fast mode if the phone is powered of?? Thanks..
9w is really low power to charge a 5000mah battery sooner than that
of course its normal with a 9w charger ... thats damn slow
Another question, is it bad for the battery on the long run?
I usually charge overnight during sleep so I don't mind slow charging just curious about battery life. Thanks
Qi standard allows one to use even lower charging power than that 9W for safer overnight charging. Check the alignment of the charging coils for optimal result.
9W is not fast wireless charging, it is normal; 15W is fast wireless charging.
