CM11.0 Question - Nook HD, HD+ Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Could someone tell me if the latest CM 11.0 incorporates amaces and Jon Lee's improvements for screen flicker and smoothness? Jon Lee talked about updating a CM 11.0 ROM with the latest improvements but I don't think he ever got around to it. The reason I don't use one of the newer ROMs is because I use the screen casting feature a lot. Last I saw, amaces wasn't able to get that feature to work on CM 12.0 and CM 13.0.
And if the improvements haven't been incorporated, any chance someone could build a CM 11.0 ROM with them? TIA

FWIW -
I've using CM11 shortly after when it first came out, currently on the 11/22 nightly, and never have had screen flickering problem.
Also, I can do screen mirroring from specific apps (NetFlix, YouTube, ...) to my Panasonic Viera TV and Chromecast, but I've not been able to fire up screen casting via Settings->Display_>Screen Casting.

Thanks for the response. I currently use Temasek's CM11.0 ROM. I've been getting screen flickering when I'm browsing the web. Think I'll do a backup and give the latest CM 11.0 a shot to see if the flickering goes away.
As for screen casting, this is how I got it to work:
I was finally able to get the Nook HD+ to cast to Chromecast. If I used only the Chromecast app, it would immediately disconnect when I would select cast screen to the Chromecast. It turns out I needed the mirror enabler app from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/har...experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193 . And the tricky part is that the latest version of the mirror enabler app (v7) doesn't work with the Nook HD+. You need to use an older version such as v6 or v5.
After downloading mirror enabler v6, I started the app and enabled the 3 options. Then I rebooted the tablet. After it rebooted, I went into Settings>Display>Cast Screen. Make sure the option for Cast Screen is turned on and that you have your Wifi turned on. You should see your Chromecast device listed on your tablet. Just tap on it and it should cast to your TV screen. When you want to disconnect, just tap on the Chromecast device again and hit disconnect. That is basically it.

[Q] [Nook HD] Netflix performance on stock and CM10.1 - audio sync issues?

Greetings. Quick question. Does anyone else have audio sync issues using Netflix on CM10.1? Or can anyone running stock confirm whether Netflix is ok on stock or has the same problem? My audio runs behind the video by a second or so which is incredibly annoying. I tried different streaming settings but none improved it.
I am running Netflix 2.3.2 build 932 on verygreen 10.1 native EMMC
Thanks!
Chris
No replies so I just reflashed with the stock ROM and Netflix works perfectly - no audio sync problems like there are on CM10.1
Netflix works perfectly for both stock 1.2 and CM 10.1 for me. I notice Stock lags when I press the n button and CM 10.1 lags on subtitles. So I guess both have problems

I tried it today and mine seems to work just fine. I am using CM10.1-20130628 and Netflix version 2.3.2 build 932.
I also have the sound lag on Netflix. I'm using cm-10.1-20130706 and Netflix 2.3.2 build 932.

I have the same 10.1 & Netflix version 2.3.2 and Netflix goes to a grey screen with nothing shown except the Nook controls. I eventually get a Netflix isn't responding Do you want to close prompt. If I wait it does nothing.
Update: I installed 1.8.1 of Netfix and it works, then tried to update to 2.3.2. It loads run as far as letting me select program I want to watch, but when it runs the program the screen is chopped into 3 pieces with various parts displayed incorrectly. Went back to 1.8.1 but when played it will play for a period then stop and show buffering, then startup again. CM7 didn't have this problem.
FIX HERE
Problem persists but I have finally found a fix!
Install the following Xposed HACK and it will trick Netflix into thinking you are running Android 4.0 and this fixes the audio sync / lip sync / audio delay problems that I have experienced on the Nook HD with Cyanogenmod 10.1.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2101525
Note I have only tried this on a Nook HD using CM 10.1.3 stable. I have no idea whether it works or not on HD+ or other ROMs.

New Google OTA 14975

So google silently pushed out a update without putting it in their blog first (strange), but I thought id make a thread for people to post noticeable changes and such. So far from my searching, ive found:
Better TV output detection (probably to fix the black screen bug people have reported)
Updated netflix & eureka_shell binary
Still does not fully use V2 API, so V1 apps still work
I am guessing this was just a patch fix build. Let me know what you guys notice.
doesn't matter as device still refuses to join network.
edit: odd. ran CCast app on pc. booted up straight away. what ever works i guess.
It now supports audio when casting entire screen. Not very high quality.
I find full screen casting better than tab casting. Text are sharper and focused compared to tab casting. Watched a 720p movie on full screen... No sync issues. Casting full screen notification hides behind video player, when player uses full screen mode.

[Q] Chromecast won't connect on Nook HD+

I cannot get Chromecast to work with the Nook HD+. I installed CM11 Rom with Mirror Enabler app and Chromecast app. In Mirror Enabler App, I enabled all three options. If I go to Settings>Display>Cast Screen, the Nook HD+ finds my Chromecast. But when I select the Chromecast, the screen may turn black for a second and then it just disconnects. And if I go into the Chromecast app, it shows my device. But when I hit Cast Screen, the connection just ends and nothing even seems to happen.
I read on the CM11 thread around page 182 where another user had the same problem and another member (extrem0) posted a file to flash that fixed his problem. But the file is no longer available. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
What's your rom build date? Unless you're using a 6 months old build, you don't need the file I posted. Also, I think Mirror enabler app is no longer needed. Google updated chromecast app making mirroring working on all 4.2+ devices IIRC.
In case anybody else experiences this problem, I was finally able to get the Nook HD+ to cast to Chromecast. If I used only the Chromecast app, it would immediately disconnect when I would select cast screen to the Chromecast. It turns out I needed the mirror enabler app from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/har...experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193. The Rom I am currently using is Temesek's CM11 ROM. Now only if I could get flash player to work
I didn't know mirror app was still needed. Didn't try to cast using my nook recently. Also, mirroring is not working on CM12 (I tried both v7 and v6 mirror app and it didn't work).
For flash player, try Dolphin browser.
Thank you, neonleon29! I've tried for two months to get mirroring to work and now it works perfectly.

Sped up Audio and Video on Nook HD+ on CM 12.1

I wanted to see if anyone else has been having any issues like mine. I just installed the CM 12.1 rom on my Nook HD + and I am having problems with very fast audio and video with different apps. It is like it is sped up to 2x speed. I have used Plex, WatchESPN, and Netflix to name a few and all suffer from that same problem.
Any one experienced this issue and if so, any fixes?
Thanks.
Me too but the only fix mentioned is in the development thread that says the 10/13 build fixed it. I only see a 10/12 build in the download folder. Sorry not to be any help.
I appreciate the reply. I updated to the 10/12 build and that fixed Plex, Kodi, and WatchESPN. I am still having problems with Netflix and DirecTv app. I was really just concerned that the Nook HD + could not handle the HD streaming.
I just got the Nook HD+ yesterday so I apologize about being new. It is a really good little tablet.
Thanks,
No apologies necessary. I finally found the 10/ 13 build mentioned right in front of my face in amaces' uploads (experimental folder). That fixed all my audio and video problems so far. Tested out vlc , Netflix, YouTube, time warner tv, music......so far so good.

Has anyone found the trick to screencast to chromecast in CM based Roms?

Hi, i have been reading but could not find an explanation nor a fix for this.
Since CM based 12.1 roms, screen casting to my chromecast suddenly stoped working, now i own a Nvidia Shield TV and i have The same issue. I have upgrated to recent oficial CM 13 to test but The problem still persist. I have tried from The official ChromeCast/Home app an also from The Send Screen tile In notification bar.
With other stock non rooted phones i tested worked just fine as it should. I rather use a custom rom than stock debloated firmware.
If anyone has it working with a CHROMECAST device/receiver please share your setup: ROM/gapps/root method if any.
NOTE: I dont want to use other cast devices or my TV's native wireless screen mirror feature, so please stay on topic and reply only if you have a Chromecast or Android TV device. Thanks!
