(GUIDE) make your way back to pure stock (with warranty) (noob) - Android One (First-Generation) Cross-Device Genera

Note:use only philz recovery
now i know that there is a similar guide but i found it relativly harder
so .....
do a full format of /system /data /cache (everything just to be sure)
STEP 1
flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/android-one-general/rom-t3120737
only the 6.0 no need to download ota
step 2
flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...set-warranty-bit-android-one-devices-t3074983
thats it you will recieve ota and get back your warranty
i have no part in this just compiled this thread @1cefire and @awaaas own everything

Q Can i format /boot from CWR and be able to go into download mode?(KK4root and CWR?)

Hey there Xda,
I'm having an issue with my phone, whenever i install a Jelly Bean Rom(coming from CM9), 1) the lock screen is completely gone(it is checked on) 2) no notications come 3) no recent menu pops open.
I am running GB boot-loader (from KF1) and someone suggested to update to the latest.
So i would like to format everything on my cellphone (manual internal sdcard format using mount and PC) as well as formatting the /boot from CWR.
Before i go ahead and do that, i would like to make sure that it is still possible to go into download mode.
My plan is to format everything and /boot, then Odin one click to KK4 (i don't know the differences between KK4 and the others; the good or bad, does anyone know?)
Do i have to odin back to jf6 then kies it to kk4 ????
Then root the phone using something, i haven't found a simple method of rooting and installing CWR (if you know one, let me know)
Then from there flash a jelly bean kernel, reboot into recovery and flash a ROM.
What do yall think, good? bad? ugly?
any help would be appreciated.
Try flashing UCKK4 (download from the master stock collection thread) and then corn kernel. It has cwm recovery built-in. Then you should be able to flash a JB rom. If it doesn't work, first flash CM9 and then a JB rom.

[Q] Updating to official JB from other custom / leak ROMs

As the JB update is around the corner , some of us may be interested to receive it by official methods (OTA/Kies),For those who are in unofficial ROMs ,it may need a bit of rework to prepare the phone to receive the updates.
I am currently on Ultimate XXLSC JellyBean 4.1.2 v5.1 with Philz Safe Kernel 3.73 and CWM Touch 6.0.1.9
So I plan the following way,
Down load the Latest ICS firmware for the country from sammobile
Make calls / mails/ SMS planned for the next 45-1H min
Backup apps/data by TB
Enter CWM do a nandroid backup
Full wipe /data/factory reset /cache and dalvik --- ?
Format /data /system and /preload --- ?
go to download mode
open ODIN on PC & Connect phone by USB
Flash the ICS by ODIN
Reboot phone
Check CSC/kernal etc --- ?
Update via OTA/Kies
Root by any safe method available by then --- ?
restore apps/data by TB
Done !
Some of the steps may not be required (?) or some additional steps may be required or there may be some better methods altogether , Pls comment in order to finalize a clean method statement useful for all ROM users.... Thanks ,
If you ask me you complicated it a bit... (steps are ok, but not realy necesary)
First: you are on custom rom, if you satisfied with your current configuration, of course, make a backup of your rom.
Second: When official update rolls out... most probably it would be avilable in odin flashable format within a day-two. If not immediately avilable for download from sammobile... for example.
But i belive it would be avilable on xda before the first bytes start spread over the air
So the conclusion is then: just wait official realease then flash it through odin. Why bother with flashing stock ics and waiting for ota and stuff
Or wait a little bit more, there are experts on xda who will bring us great custom roms, based on official realease, without a doubt :fingers-crossed: If your plan is to be rooted
Third, that is concerned flashing fresh and clean official rom: for ex. you are on ultimate jb, with philz kernel, and the official jb is avilable in .tar odin flashable format.
reboot recovery
wipe cache, dalvik, data
mounts and storage> format cache, system, data, preload (format emmc optional, backup your documents, pictures, music and stuff, because it will format your internal sd)
advanced> reboot to download mode
connect your device to pc
start flashing through pc odin
OTA is very popular with many users so the guide is useful. i prefer the odin method because i dont have a reliable wifi conn.
good you started this thread ....would have been lost in the old sticky thread

How to Downgrade From CM10.1 Nightly Rom Back to Any Stock Rom?

Bought a 2nd hand Samsung N7000 with CM10.1 Nightly Rom but my wife prefers the phone to be on stock Rom.
Can anyone kindly advice how to safely downgrade back to any stock Rom?
Details of device per attached photo.
Just flash any stock ROM that you (or you wife ) like
You can find here a lot of ROMs
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1847786
Good luck
Don't think the current kernel version is stock so need to update the kernel before using Odin to flash a new rom?
1. Do all wipes and do format /system, /data, /preload
2. Reboot download mod
3. flash any JB/ICS/GB stock rom
there is no need to do anything else, pc odin flash is the best way.

Have tried to flash stock ICS 4.04 Rom using Odin but after flashing the phone got stuck at Samsung logo unable to boot
Did not do any wipes and do format /system, /data, /preload mentioned before flashing though
Below is the stock ICS Rom that has been flashed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...tuck+at+samsung+logo+after+flashing+stock+rom
July 12
N7000DXLR2---4.0.4/12.07.09-N7000OLBLR1--- Download--- Singapore
Have tried to flash the stock ICS Kernel but the phone still got stuck at Samsung logo unable to boot
Below is the stock Kernel that has been flashed:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1371007&highlight=stock+kernel+for+ics
DXLR2 - http://d-h.st/J2t
Flash Philz Kernel using Stock Recovery http://www.mediafire.com/?0ubq6fl352rc583
(PhilZ-cwm6-DXLR2-OLB-2.7-signed.zip)
Then reboot to recovery mod, do factory reset, wipe dalvik cache and cache partition , reboot.
Now you phone should be working fine.
NB: Never Do any wipes/factory rest in in stock recovery, it can cause EMMC brick.

[Q] custom recovery

so i have the custom recovery clockworkmod 6.0.3.6
and when I reboot to the recovery and do what ever with it when i press reboot phone (first choose )
1 2 3
tinypic . com/r/25uu100/5
(remove the spaces)
it says: "Rom may flash stock recovey on boot. FIx?
this can not be undone
no
no
no
no
no
no
no
yes- disable recovery flash
no
no
no
++++go back+++++
so, I am wandering what should I do,
I am willing to install a custom rom but I am afriad of problems with the recovery
farther more, what if I want to use my warranty will choosing "yes" cause a problem?
in addition i noticed that on the bottom of the screen there is a massage says :
warning: no file contexts
what does it mean what should I do ?
thanks for your time
Do whatever >>>> what does that mean exactly .
Post really does not make any sense .

a. the phone is booting just fine
i am willing to insall a custom rom and i am not sure if to choise yes fix because i am afraid of problems with the phone after choosing fix:
i dont want the costum rom to install recovey over this recovery and get my recovery corrupted.
and about the root i know i can unroot my phone and use tringle away but with the recovery i dont know how to restore that to the stock
so to sum up before installing a custom rom what to choosie yes or no (on the massage )
Basically the problem is a total lack of understanding regarding rom custom roms etc .
You had better start by reading and understanding the basics before bricking your phone as you don't have a clue .
Basics read first.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2344125
Critical you read the first two posts and understand the difference between I9300 and I9305 .
At a guess the message is due to failure to root .

Stock Recovery being reflashed after a reboot?
There is an auto recovery restore system on stock roms that will reflash the Stock Recovery on a Stock Rom. If the restore files are renamed then CWM Recovery should not be overwritten after a reboot.
You need to be rooted and then delete or rename the following files:
Quote:
/system/recovery-from-boot.p
/system/etc/install-recovery.sh
Why don't you start from the beginning as per the faqs and guides root flash recovery flash custom rom whatever .
I simply do not understand your posts they make little sense and i cannot work out where you are in the flashing process .
EG
Stock Recovery being reflashed after a reboot?
>>> No it is not flashed .
There is an auto recovery restore system on stock roms that will reflash the Stock Recovery on a Stock Rom
>> Their is no auto recovery stock includes stock recovery.
If the restore files are renamed then CWM Recovery should not be overwritten after a reboot.
>> no idea at all what this is and you do not rename files .
Are you sure you are in the right forum ?? this is I9305 forum .
You have an EFS backup ???

Use Odin to flash recovery, or heimdall if you are running Linux.
You can already copy or download su zip ( in case you want stock rooted.) or custom ROM to your sdcard, so that you have it ready for flashing.

Use this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1942150
Why use this Root Method? Well the main reasons are:
- You have a complete Odin Flashable ROM Package.
- No Insecure Kernels are used or required.
- You can flash these packages on Non-Rooted devices
- The Binary Flash Counter will NOT increase when flashing these ROM Packages.
- The Red Exclamation Mark will NOT appear at boot up.
- And finally, you only have to flash one file in Odin and you have a complete firmware including Root Permissions.

[GUIDE][HOW-TO]Downgrade/Upgrade Firmware from N to M and back

Code:
#Disclaimer
I'm not responsible for bricked devices.
The zip was tested thoroughly
yet in case if something may go
southwards, don't blame me..
Instead use QFIL to restore.
Heyo peeps,
We got N via OTA/QFIL and it was a nice update, but with that came a nasty issue, custom ROMs causing bootloops.
The only way to downgrade to M was using QFIL tools, which is a lil bit inconvenient as the internal gets wiped.
So I made a zip which would let us switch between Stock N and Stock M/Custom ROMs without the use of QFIL.
Prerequisite(s):
TWRP by @Pranay Narang download from Official TWRP site
Custom ROM zip/ Stock M backup/ Stock N backup (link given in the 3rd post)
To downgrade to Stock M (Flashing custom ROMs)
Boot to TWRP.
Take a nandroid backup (if you ever want to go back to Stock N).
Flash the zip given below.
Restore the nandroid backup of stock M (if you have it) or Flash the custom ROM zip (clean flash obviously )
Reboooooot.
Link: M-Firmware
To move back to Stock N.
In case if you people feel like moving back to Stock N.
Boot to TWRP.
Flash the zip given below.
Restore the stock N backup which you took.
Wipe Cache.
Rebooooooot.
Link: N-Firmware
Credits:
Yu for the device and desperation & inspiration
Qualcomm, Tinno and Whoever made the firmware files.
@Aditya kalway for providing the N-Firmware files.
@YU-B_user for the details of the files.
Me for making the zip
And me again for testing it many times

If I missed someone, just ping me
Enjoy jumping between ROMs guys
