How much does he charge to only unlock it?
unlock you can do of our own using htcdev.com.
Follow this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465780 it will help u to unlock bootloader, flash cwm5 and increase ur internal memory
HTC has released a utility to unlock bootloader of your HTC device. If you get that, you can root your phone. No need to get a S-OFF. My salsa is S-ON yet rooted.
I am not sure what benifits S-off will offer over htc unlock bootloader. May be BigBearEvo can throw some light on it.
If you just want to root, htc unlock bootloader works fine.

HTC unlocking is same as u s-off...
more beneficial than normally unlocking using xtc clip.
in boot loader menu it shows as S-ON, but functions as S-OFF.
just check whether it shows "unlocked" in boot loader menu.
HTC unlocking is complete solution for root access.

Nope, I dont think HTCDEV Unlock bootloader will give you network unlock and radio unlock. If you get xtc-clip s-off it will let you change radio and network lock as well. I have never tried though.
go here....new added hboot updates for the s-off user only!

yeah you can run my script after gaining temproot with tacoroot, just select the yes option when it asks if you are rooted. I'll be adding tacoroot to the next version of my script as soon as I get my phone back from the service centre to test and document the process. It's been in since the 20th of dec

[Q] Root without HTCdev

I have been looking and searching but have not found a way to just root my phone without using HTCdev in any way. Am I right when I say that the only way to root is to unlock bootloader through HTCdev and then flashing a ROM that is already rooted? Cause I can't find anything else on rooting an HTC One...
You can do this if you have 1.44 hboot for use the "revone" tool.
Which hboot do you have?

1.54 unfortunately New phone. Really don't want HTC to track my phone and I could live with locked bootloader untill 1.54 is cracked but I want root access for several things (backup, LBE Privacy Guard etc.)
So, atm, the only solution for you is HTCDev or wait.
Ok, thanks mate.

HTC one m7_wlv unlock bootloader from htcdev

Hi.
I'm trying to unlock the bootloader of HTC one m7_wlv verizon, but i can't. it give me "Error Code: 160."
"Error Reason: MID Not Allowed."
I did this process with diferents devices, but i can't with this.
can somebody help me.
thanks.
Unfortunately Verizon does not allow bootloader unlock through HTCdev. You will need to use rumrunner/moonshine/current s-off method to s-off which will unlock your bootloader in the process. It will work, as I have performed s-off on a Verizon One device without incident just a few weeks ago. Remember that this WILL reset your phone to fresh out of the box status. This means sd-card too, so save anything you don't want evaporating. Need more info for the proper s-off thread? Let me know and ill see if I can get you a link.

[Q] Can you go S-OFF after relocking bootloader and putting it in S-ON mode?

Hello, I am looking to sell my old M7 and I'd like to unlock it to be used on any carrier via S-OFF, but I had to return this phone to S-ON for a warranty repair. Is it possible to unlock my bootloader and get it to S-OFF again? The tool I used to unlock/relock the bootloader was SuperSU and the S-OFF tool was rumrunner. Thank you for your help!

you can unlock the bootloader using the same method you did the first time via htcdev.com (btw SuperSu is the app that monitor and manage super user privileges (root), nothing to do with bootloader lock/unlock)
You should be able to s-off again. You might have to use another s-off tool if you receive your phone back with an updated hboot version. use firewater or sunshine if your phone come back with hboot 1.57. Sunshine cost 25$ but the app will only charge you if the exploit work.
