Car Mount (with Otterbox) - Moto Maxx Accessories

I have tried a few car mounts for this giant phone, but any mount made for the 'turbo' doesn't work when the otterbox defender is installed.
anyone have any luck with a mount that works well?

I got one for you... These fit on your cd slot and are magnetic, so all you need is to install a small steel plate on the back of your case (or the inside if you will). There is a version of it that will hold iPads and tablets, so you should be good with the bulk.

I bought one myself and installed the little steel pad on the reverse side of my case (slim TPU case) its awesome cause there's no hastle, and you can fit it horizontal, vertical, diagonal, whatever.

I have used ram mount for my droid turbo with an otterbox commuter for over 6 months now. They're so simple to use and you can use them with other phones also. They're a little more pricey but worth it in my opinion. Also great if you ride a bike as you can get different mounting base to swap it over. I believe mine was cheaper on amazon but did all my looking on their website there.

Car mount for phone with silicon case

Are there any mounts out there that can hold my phone with the standard verzion silicon cover attached? I am looking for a compact car mount like the standard car mount that has the attachment similar to the holster attachment where it just snaps in. I do not want the kind that grips the phone on the sides. I also do not want to have to modify my phone in any way.
Thanks

Having the silicon cover on the phone pretty much precludes using any snap-in holder. If for no other reason that the silicon does not snap.
Further ruling out a mount that would grip the phone would leave only one alternative: a custom mount that the phone would slip into.
That is talking about a mount custom made for the DINC.
No such thing on the market.
Not enough profit margin, unless you would be willing to pay an awful lot of money (enough for the manufacturer to recoup development and production costs) for it.
Your answer is the Soundgate M2 car mount. Very minimalistic in the car and all you do is stick a thin disc on the back of any case or phone directly. Google it. Sticky doesn't ruin your car either. I had it on an BMW M5 attached to the leather dash and it came off clean. Solid too performance on bumpy roads too.

Yes I heard of that, and actually saw some photos of it on here. however I didnt want to have to glue something to my phone. especially since it has to keep going in my pocket. I suppose it depends just how thin it is. maybe its worth another look.
If I recall, the disc is metal and it is held on with a magnet? I wonder if I could stick the disc on the other side of my case so the back would be smooth
I had a Droid 1 and bought a SlipGrip OtterBox Car Holder. Search Ebay for it.
I now have an incredible with a seidio active case and it fits perfect. only this is you have to trim the bottom right piece to allow for the charger to plug in. It looks oem to me and much better than those "one size fits all" Car Mounts.

dell streak folio case

Hey guys picked up the Folio case for the streak and I was slightly disappointed at its design. so I modified it a bit
modification 1: added a port for the device to charge
modification 2: added 3 slots to hold money credit cards and ID
End result: effectively turned a lacking case to a fully functional High tech Man purse aka Murse
This is actually exactly what I'm after. A folio case with a strap and card storage is perfect. Would you mind posting pics of how you did it, or at least a more zoomed out view? I'm no seamster, but I'd love to give this a go. I don't care if it's a wicked murse; I'm married, so I don't have to impress the ladies (and my wife is already fully aware that I'm a dork).
Depending on how many cards you carry around I only put 3 card cases and to not throw off the appeal of the folio I used thin black leather for the card holders and which can be picked up at a craft store. To mend I used gorilla glue the kind that dries clear along the sides of the leather for a hour to fully mend
For the strap all I did was put a few holes in the seam where the Lid folds down and put metal rings to clip on a strap

open face case

anyone bought the 'open face' or the '2 in 1' which is the 'open face' plus a flap that you can button onto the 'open face' case from fortte.com ? 39.99 for the 2 in 1 and 34.99 for the open face version.
Not everyone likes these open face ones but I just love these as I love the clip which I clip onto my belt (or shorts) and am able to just look down at my phone for 'time" (yeah i don't wear any watches); so I've always had Krusell flex orbit cases, however they don't make one for the vivid, i guess they only make the orbit flex (the open face one) for phones that are under certain weight and vivid is a little on the heavier side. anyway, if anyone had bought one of these, let me know of your thoughts. also, i found another open face case on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/190651454200?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
if anyone bought this before, let me know how you like it.
thanks.
I work in a warehouse environment so I keep an Otterbox defender on mine with the screen facing in. You can carry it either way though. If you dont mind the extra girth on the phone, the OBD is the way to go. Ive had cases like the one in the ebay listing you posted and they do alright, but the belt clips are pretty flimsy. If a belt clip is a must and the OBD is too bulky for your taste, I'd check into seidio cases. They make several different styles offering different levels of protection and most of them have a belt clip so you can carry it on your belt the way you want.
It is best OtterBox
Otterbox is great for iPhone but I had otterbox for the Vivid and it just seems to be too confining...it covers the screen too much..its usable but I just couldn't get used to it..went with Speck candy shell..

Large Holster for Note 2 with Case such as Seidio ACTIVE (and also a car mount)

If anyone is interested in a Large Case to carry the Note 2 if you have a case on it such as Seidio ACTIVE with Metal Kickstand i got this one...
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Note II Horizontal Leather Case with Magnetic closure with belt clip and belt loops (Plus Size will Fit w/ Otterbox Commuter on) + Cell Phone Antenna Booster
(link Belwo)
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Horizontal-Magnetic-Otterbox-Commuter/dp/B00AMOAW4S/ref=pd_cp_cps_2
When i got it a few weeks ago...it was $13.50 now it is $8 LOL. I have the Seidio ACTIVE with Metal Kickstand white
http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=CSK3SSGT2K-GL
and it fits it almost 100% perfectly. There is a tiny bit of play (up/down....& side to side), but not much. It seems to fit better now that it has been broken in. And yes our phone is big so yes this is a big Horizontal Leather Case...but you get used to carrying it.
Although the pictures online make it look more like a grey leather, it is black. You can not see it in the pics online...but on the sides....a part of it has small strip of elastic. It "may" work for the extended case that comes with the 4500mAh extended battery. You could technically use this holster without a case on your Note 2...which i did for about 3 days before i got my case....but it will flop around a bit.
There are other reviewers on Amazon that say it fits with the Ottterbox Commuter and it is in the tile.
For those of you who want to mount it in the car...i suggest this. (see link below) i got the SM 678. and the legs are adjustable side to side. (I have wide for by the USB jack and close together for the top of the phone, so as not to cover the headphone jack.) And one side is movable with a fairly strong spring type mechanism to adjust for height... (which you can see in the videos...via Youtube...not my videos...).

I live i South Florida and i always buy from Arkon... for all my phones. But being in S. Fl. the heat is brutal... especially inside your car. I used to have windshield mounts and then bought a "friction dash mount"....and the heat would make the suction cups lose suction and it would fall. The last straw for me was when i was using the Nav on my Nexus 1 and it fell.
So I decided to glue it to the part where you suction cup it to the dash mount... using Gorilla glue. It worked like a charm. Since the parts are interchangeable on the Arkon products it was not a big deal going from a bigger mount for each larger phone (LG G2x was next). The reason why i am telling you this, is that this new version will stick to any part of a flat surface on your dashboard (yes of course glass too). If there is any "texture " on your dash should hold as long as it is a plain (mostly flat) or completely flat. You need to pick a 100% or perhaps 90% (as in "very slightly" curved) flat surface. I do not know what new tech they are using, but it is better than an ordinary suction cup. Some parts on the inside of the cup has a tiny techture / ridges to it, compared to a completely flat surface like your average suction cup. I am sure other company's have this tech too. I think it is modeled after the Geckos feet. You have to look really close at it to see it.
Anyway... it has yet to fall. We are heading into summer soon...so we will see how it holds up. We have not hit the high 90's yet or at least i do not think so) If it craps out on me later, i will try an remember to post.
--> EDIT( 04-27-2013) ok the heat got to it. When i would come out to my car it would be laying on the floor. If you remove it before you leave the car, most likely not an issue. But I do not want to reset the view etc every time. So back to the dash mount where i have a suction cup glued to it with Gorilla glue.
I hope this helps....

Car holder while wearing case?

Does anyone know of a reasonably solid in-car holder that will grip the Note 2 while it has the official Samsung flip case on? I assume there isn't going to be one built for purpose so just need a reasonably strong universal one, presumably windscreen mount.
Anyone got a decent one they use that can hold the weight and size?

Just picked up the iOttie XL for my new-to-me Note 2, works great. Best quality car dock I've had yet. Fits the Note 2 with a Case Mate Tough Case just barely! I understand the Note 2 with an Otterbox Defender is too big for it, but it should be fine for your application.
Looks good, thanks, I'll give it a try

iOttie should work well, check out my review links in the signature. But keep in mind that if you planning to go later with Zerolemon battery or thicker case like Defender, iOttie side grips won't cut it.
Ram mount x grip will work.

I don't know if this is what you are looking for but I mod this myself. I use two 1 inch rubberband and a rubber case where i cut along the side, top, and bottom.
I don't know why the picture is upside down when I uploaded
Rocketfish makes a decent mount that will fit a Note II with an Otterbox Defender. The contact points are flexible rubber, and seem like they'd securely grip any case. It comes with both suction and vent clip mounts, I've been very happy with it.
