Since we have root on the lollipop version of this device, cant we install flashfirw and get the boot.img and they system.img from the zv9 and create a flashable zip then fuse ether everroot or modify the boot.img before creating the zip and flashing it so we have root with marshmallow.

I meant the zv9 to file

Yeah i know we can use flashfire on the lolipop because lolipop is rootable on our device. Im trying to say that we can make a flashable modified with root marshmallow zip and then flash it via flashfire on lolipop. Like a rom upgrade.

I used flashify to flash twrp but I rooted the original way. Not sure why it would matter how you rooted. Just as long as you were rooted
Which did you flash the tar or Img ? I'm not caring about tripping Knox just making sure I can use flashify to do it.

Flashify handles .IMG and .zip files. You will need either a TWRP recovery image or a flashable zip package if someone has made one. I just stick to .IMG's
Sorry for hijacking this thread, but I've read reports that flashing TWRP without a custom kernel will cause a bootloop. Does this apply to AOCG (5.0.2) as well, or is the issue only persistent on devices that upgraded to 5.1.1?

I will tell you that I rooted but did not install TWRP. I had not used the root for anything other than Greenify. I used the Full Unroot option in Supersu to unroot and then the app uninstalled itself. After that, I had to flash the boot.img and the recovery.img files using mfastboot. I was told I also need to flash the system.img but ended up not having to do that. I got the files from the Moto Lollipop 5.0 zip file that is floating around her somewhere.
here you go.... everything is in XDA.. search for a while mate!

Best way is reading.........
There are alot of prerooted roms avaible in android development section
Well , yes, very nearly helpful. Most of them have recoveries included ( all in ones) and some can't be flashed over older firmwares. So which one would be best?

1. Create a pre-rooted flashable zip using PRFC (using the 5.1.1 FW, latest superSU zip, and the flashable dual recovery zip).
2. Stick that into your internal storage.
3. Flash the 5.1.1 pre-rooted zip through dual recovery.
4. Power off your phone.
5. Use flashtool and flash the non-rooted 5.1.1 FW (while making sure "system" is clicked under the exclude option).
6. Once it's finished flashing, you'll have a pre-rooted 5.1.1.

Does this method also keep the dual recovery intact?

With every flash, allinones or self made recovery will always be overwritten. On z3c we dont have a "static" recovery

Yeah, it keeps dual recovery because you're creating a pre-rooted FW with dual recovery and superSU into it when you create it using PRFCreator, so essentially you're just overwriting the same dual recovery onto your device that already has the same dual recovery.
Short answer, yes. It'll keep dual recovery intact.

install recovery on 5.1.1

Hi guys is there any way to install recovery on z1 5.1.1 on stock without root ?
without root is impossible
yes of course, you must use prf creator and put the relevant supersu and recovery zip files in the respective folders. finally, it will create a flashable.zip file, which you will use with flastool software

Hes using 5.1.1 without root . That means he does not have recovery. How he will be able to flash the flashable Zip from Prf creator when he does not have recovery. So please, understand what hes asking first before answering.
Anyways the answer is NO, You n3ed to downgrade to 4.4.4 or 5.0.2 and root then flash DualRecovery. And look for prerooted 5.1.1 firmwares (flashable zip) then flash to your recovery.

Dump boot.img (no root)

Is it possible to dump the boot.img file without root to patch it and install Magisk? If so, how is that done?

Short answer: no
Long answer: The boot.img cannot be touched at all because these Fire tablets have a locked bootloader. Tamper with the boot.img in any way, and the device will be bricked until you sideload the stock firmware. Current ROMs exist by gaining root, and then flashing a system.img that is compatible with the stock boot.img. This is why we are able to gain slimmed down ROMs (my favorite is FireNexus by ggow), but we can't install any kernels or magisk. Also, any root that is labeled as "system-less" works by injecting itself into the boot.img, so it won't work. This means SuperSu in system-less mode, and magisk.
Hope that helps.
