do you think we will see problems in future with batteries needing to be replaced sooner because of this fast charging
I turned off my fast charging option.
Yean I appreciate the superb fast charging. Is it bad to use my older note3 chargers as spares on the go?

It's not bad at all, you can still use any cell phone charger to charge the Note 4
just like we have done when we had the Note 3.
The thing I am wondering about is if can safely use the new Note 4 wall charger
to charge other peripherals like mice, keyboards, wireless headsets and so on.
I used to use the samsung S3, S4 and note 3's wall charger to charge lot's of things.

The batteries are chipped. Phones are chipped. And even the adapter has a chip. You can use your note 4 charger to charge any device. It just won't give the full output as other devices will tell it not to. etc.etc.
Thread moved to Q&A where it should have been posted originally - please post in the correct sections, thanks.
Everything I've read about fast Wireless Charging compatibility was that it was backwards compatible with the plates we have now. But now Samsung is saying we need to buy their $70 option for that. I'm wondering if this is just a money grab of if I could plug a fast charger into my nexus wireless charging pad and get it to fast charge. Has anyone else even wondered this as they've read about this new standard with "backwards compatibility?"

I don't think it works that way. The regular Samsung wireless charger comes with one of there adaptive fast charging bricks and it does not have fast wireless charging.

Fast Charging will only work with the Wireless Fast Charger. I have the note 5 now and have tested it with 10 different chargers and it works but not rapid charging.
Yea, fast wireless charging is new. It's unfortunate the charger is so expensive, but this is new. They'll be some aftermarket fast chargers soon
I got the Samsung wireless charger (not rapid charger) from wal mart for $30. I just got it set up, and the instructions say to unplug the charger when the phone is charged. Is there truly a reason to ever unplug the charger or is this just corporate precaution to avoid a lawsuit? lol
Also, I have a clear UAG case on my Note 5, is there any way the wireless charging could damage the case?
One more question, whats the deal with people saying the old wireless charger doesn't work with the note? Doesn't any Qi charger work with any Qi device? I don't understand what issue it could cause.
If i were you i would return it.. fast wireless charger should be around the corner.. i know of a company who will realese it sept 20 for 30$

I had the same issue many here are reporting with the standard wireless charger, didn't charge properly on my Note. I gave it to a co-worker who has an S6. Can you share the company/website that will be selling the rapid charger for $30? If you can't say on the forum can you PM me?

I'm going to be picking up the s7e in the next week and was wondering if anyone can recommend wireless chargers they currently use or have used in the past. All other Qi chargers are so much cheaper than the Samsung branded counterparts.
Also is there a big enough difference between the wireless fast charger from Samsung and any other Qi wireless charger that makes it worth buying?
Currently looking at the following:

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Well th normal Samsung charger is free in the Samsung Pay promo (I don't think it applies to the UK), but it will charge slowly compared to a fast wireless one. I will have mine soon to test out I reviewed the Choetech 10W fast wireless charger below and graphed the charging speed compared to the stock quick charger. Samsungs fast wireless charger is only 10W from all accounts not 15W the phone supports. 10W wireless charging is still fast (see my link below), but any qi charger will work. I wouldn't bother with 1st party ones unless you get a good deal on one since wireless chargers from 3rd parties are just as good or sometimes better.

Yes it does, if you want to see how fast it charges with QC 2.0, Standard wall charger, fast qi, and regular qi you can read my charging test here.
Have a variety of fast QI chargers that all works well with my N5, even with cases (think and thick cases).
Use the same chargers with the N8 and it seems to be a hit or miss, especially with cases. Some work and some do not.
Anyone else experiencing this?
I have the Samsung Quick Charging Stand and a Spigen triple coil qi charger that's a rip of the Tylt Vu. They all work well but the spigen doesn't quick charge.
Chotetch fast charger works, confirmed because I have one as well as two convertibles from Sammy.
The choetech will charge the phone through the Sammy military grade case (whereas the Sammy one wont).
Triple coil standing Aukey works just fine, even with a case.

did you use the note 8 plug for this? i have the same charger which i got for the n7 and been using it for the s7.
the s7 will say fast wireless charging but with the note 8 it just says wireless charging and the time at 31% is 2h24m. in both these setups its using a sammy n7 charge plug.
I have two Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charging Stands (EP-NG930) that worked great for the S7 Edge. They however do not work with the Note8 (with or without my spigen case). I tried it on a cheap flat (not fast) PowerBot Wireless charger pad and it works. Does anyone know of a good fast wireless charger stand (not pad) that works? I'm waiting for the new Samsung Fast Charge Wireless Charging Convertible to come in (the pre-order gift) but some people say that does't work sometimes in the stand position. I need a second charger for work.

I have 2 of those same Samsung adaptive fast charging stands and they work perfectly. One is on my desk and the other on my night stand. What's the deal?

I may have jumped the gun on this. I use an Anker 40w 5 port charger to feed the Seneo, as I also have a Gear S3 and an iPad that I charge at night. My Samsung charger is in a desk drawer somewhere.
I'll dig it out and hook the Seneo up to it to see what happens.
I went into a Verizon store and my Note 8 worked on their last Gen wireless charger with no problem. I believe I purchased my chargers on ebay so my conclusion is they must not be official changers and are knock offs. They look exactly like the official chargers down to the label on the bottom. They obvious knock offs have a slightly different label. The "some people" I was referring to were people who had the same experience as me based on researching this problem. Learned my lesson, saving a couple of bucks isn't worth it in the end.
I have two of the original Samsung fast charge pads (an American one and a Korean one) and they both work on my Korean Note 8 through its slim case.
Think thats my problem. I have a whole bunch of aftermarket QI Fast Chargers. Some seem to work better than others. But they all Work Well with my N5.

I have an older samsung fast charger that samsung says is not compatible, even though thier own website shows it is. Contacting the Qi alliance to suggest samsung isn't compatible.

Question about these wireless chargers, if I don't use a Quick Charger adapter, and instead plug it into the back of my monitor for power, will it just slow charge it wirelessly? Or will that not be enough power for it to wireless charge altogether?

Probably won't have enough power. Definitely won't fast charge. Those need to be plugged into a fast charger

The Fast Charge option does not appear in the settings menu unlike my Note 5! I have not been able to use my Samsung vertical Fast Charger with my Note 8 but I can with my Note FE!

Not there. According to the manual should be under Advanced Settings under Battery under Device Maintenance
Weird. Wonder if it's different from a carrier version vs. an unlocked. Try a search for Fast Wireless Charging
