I am a new user. I purchased a Samsung Action 4S AT&T on KitKat 4.4.2 that was working just fine on T-Mobile where I am located in Germany until I tried to update to Lollipop 5.0 and T-Mobile firmware. I ended up with custom ROM with the IMEI now showing a NULL, still on AT&T and *#0011# showing a blank screen. I re-installed a stock version of AT&T firmware and an now back to the original Active login screen but still have a null IMEI.
Having attempted several apps to write the original IMEI to the phone, also using ODIN, have all resulted in failure. I contacted AT&T to get an unlock and received a code, cannot do anything with it since I can't go on line to a provider. Lot's of unwanted other stuff too.
Using many different forms of firmware to change, update, downgrade or whatever might work, always ends up with the note "signature not recognized" or some other term that stops the downloads. Most attempts I have used ODIM. I have an MAC computer and have tried to use Heimdall, but it is confusing to me and never finds my device anyway.
All I can say is "HELP".

Ok a friend of mine brought me a i9305 lte to unlock as i have done several of my firends. so i did these steps
1. made a back up from QPST
2. Cf auto rooted
3. installed custom recovery
4. downgraded to 4.1.1
5. did the network unlock from service menu
i then put my sim card in but kept getting not registered on network. i tried setting service provider to auto and also selecting manually and it does the same but no longer asks for sim unlock code so i assume its now unlocked and has some other problem. i thought it may be a imei issue and checked but the imei is fully there and matches the one behind phone batter it also has the correct baseband.. i checked in the about phone menu and it says network unknown and out of service. thinking it may be a radio issue i proceeded to install a stock 4.3 that was originally on the phone from the network carrier it was originally locked to, to see if it was a radio problem but again get network unknown. so i restored the QPST backup over the stock 4.3 and it still says network unknown.
I am starting to think the phone may be blocked but not sure as i also hear its a common problem to lose imei and / or service during rooting. Am i missing something pbvious or fighting a losing battle lol..
one other thing of slight note is when i went to sammobile for the stock rom, when i was searching i searched for i9305 as thats whats on the sticker but it has a little badge on the back that says LTE which according to sammobile is the i9305N and i9350T.
thanks for taking the time to read this and the help you guys allways offer :good::good::good:
Hello, I have done much research about this issue and I have come to the conclusion that this Note 5 our cell phone repair store bought has two different imei's. I believe that it has been previously rooted and had the t-mobile imei spoofed to a working metro-pcs imei.
The imei on the back glass is a valid t-mobile imei that has been blacklisted. Which is fine, because we can pay for a service to remove the blacklist.
The imei in the software of the phone (found in settings and from using the #*06# code) is not recognized by t-mobile, even though there is a t-mobile splash screen. The only network that recognizes the imei is metro-pcs. Although they cannot confirm what device this imei is connected to.
The phone came with a metro-pcs sim card when the phone was bought, which was recognized by the metro-pcs network and said (Metro-Pcs) on the unlock screen. The Knox counter has been tripped by 1. The phone had android 5.1 installed and the firmware was marked 'Custom' in the settings.
Since then I flashed the latest official firmware (android 6.0.1, baseband version N920TUVS4DQA2) using odin. Then I was able to update the software from the update menu in the phone to the latest security patch. Yet the imei stays the same and does not revert to the one on the back. It appears as though it is the original back glass, but I have not taken it off to verify.
So, I flashed a custom kernel and recovery (Stock modified kernel, and TWRP) in attempt to find a way to manually change the imei back to its Original state. Which shouldnt be illegal, since I am reverting back to the original imei? From my research, it appears as though I might be able to flash a deodexed stock rom for the note 5 and then install the xposed framework, then use their imei changer. But will this actually work to change the imei from the one in the settings to the correct one on the back glass? Is there any other way to revert back to the original imei which would show in the settings?
Any help would be much appreciated.

This is such a grey area and from my understanding isn't to be discussed by any means on xda so not going to comment on changing imeis whether valid or not but can give you this link.
https://swappa.com/esn?hc_location=ufi
Run the imei thru that and will tell you valid/invalid/blacklisted/etc but give you a result of what it possibly belongs too.
Keep in mind too someone could of broke the back of their phone, bought a blacklisted and swapped the mother board out so could be correct to begin with.
I have a SM-G900V that was on a custom 4.4.4 ROM. I'm selling the phone and wanted to give a stock but updated phone to the guy.
I downloaded the latest for 6.0.1 for the Verzion G900V and flashed it in Odin. It got a write fail. I tried again and it went further but then got another write fail.
Now when I try to boot the phone it goes to Software update failed error. I can boot again by long holding the power button. The phone is still recognized in Odin.
The bootloader was unlocked
The emmc was 15.
The build number of the custom ROM was: Build: KTU84P- G900VRU1ANI2
I'll keep searching for a solution but the guy I'm selling the phone to is freaking out so any and all help would be much appreciated.
update
I tried flashing the same build as what was on the phone AN12 and it failed with an Auth fail error in Odin. I did some research and saw that could be a CSC problem. I tried using Kies because I read you can find the CSC code that way. I couldn't get Kies to 'talk' to the phone. It saw that a phone was connected but it wouldn't created the connection. I tried firmware recovery but I need the serial number and Samsung in its infinite wisdom doesn't put the serial number on the sticker inside the phone (at least it doesn't on US Verizon).
It's a phone from Verizon (originally bought on contract) in the US and I have been using US Verizon downloads from either updato or sammobile (for the 4.4.4)
I could realy use some help. I'd like not to bork the phone by just trying hail mary solutions.
Hello,
I have an SM-N950U from TMB which was purchased direct from Samsung when it was just launched after the whole debacle of the Note 7.
Phone has been working fine on TMB this whole time. Today I switched to VZW and attempting to have the phone unlocked.
I tried to use the Device Unlock app on the phone, with no luck. It fails when I try to Permanently Unlock the phone.
I called TMB for assistance, they said that the manager has tried to process it manually and has been unable to do so after multiple attempts. Escalated to higher support who got on the phone and said she's unable to help and does not know why it is not working. Said she will be escalating to a higher support group, but as of yet, nothing from anyone.
Is there any way of unlocking this phone without TMB?
I've attempted to flash VZW via ODIN, both U and U1, with no luck. I also tried the U1 XAA and still the same thing, I get a message "Network locked SIM card inserted".
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am at a total loss and want to continue using this phone as I've been, just with VZW now.
Side note, maybe it's failing because the phone is already unlocked, just doesnt work with VZW? Not sure if thats a possibility, but is there any way to check to see if the phone is in fact unlocked or not?
I received a free Samsung S6 Edge from some friends. The phone had a busted battery which I fixed. The phone is still on the original 5.1.1 that the phone was released with.
When I try to do updates it says DM initialization not ready. Check network or SIM card. When I received the phone I was told it doesn't work with cell service. I checked to make sure and it definitely doesn't. There are no options for cell service in settings or the drop-down menu. This phone is missing IMEI numbers, IMEISV numbers, and baseband versions too. The only way I found out the IMEI number was it was printed on the back of the phone.
I am fairly certain the problems are software-based and not the motherboard but I don't know enough about phones to be sure. Do you guys know? I also want to remove AT&T from the phone to install a custom ROM on the device. (There is no OEM unlock in the developer options) Can I flash SM-925F firmware on the device to make it factory unlocked or will this brick the device? Will flashing the original SM-925A firmware fix the problems with the device? Please let me know if you need any more information to answer my question.
I found this: //G925A\\ Nougat 7.0.1 Latest Stock ATT Odin files G925AUCS7ERC1 | XDA Developers Forums (xda-developers.com) Should I flash this on my device? Will it fix any of the problems I had on it?
Can I flash the SM-925F firmware? Is the hardware of the factory unlocked phone and AT&T versions the same or will it brick this phone if I flash it?
Since the phone is AT&T you'll have to go through AT&T for the unlock codes before you can flash anything other than an AT&T ROM. To my knowledge there are no custom ROMS for the S6 Edge, but I could be mistaken.

I know this phone is old news however, I actually have the S6 and S7 edge lying around and so i got bored lol...here is my dilemma; Evidently the phone (S6 Edge G925A) had an abnormal factory reset, which is a load of BS, and now I can not get that security detail, which you know calling Samsung always ends to NO AVAIL!! I have flashed with Odin the firmware that my device is on the ERC1 firmware and still I get stuck @abnormal reset. I've searched numerous sites, different forums and still to no avail. Something told me inside that you was the man to drop a line to, any leads or info will be more than appreciated brother...Thanks for your time....
PSSS....
I got my unlock code from AT&T some time ago but the code is 16 digits long and code only takes 8 digits, and of course to hear AT&T tell it, " I simply must not putting the code in correctly"...lmao
