Hello,
My Note 5 and my SGS6E+ both using the Samsung Keyboard continuously auto replaces words with no typos into email addresses, most of them not even saved in my contacts! This is extremely annoying.
My previous Samsung devices had options when clinking on predictive text to disable some personalized data, ie learn from Facebook, contacts, etc, however I can't find this option anywhere and Googleing ain't helping me either.... I could use swift key or another 3rd party keyboard, but I really am used to Samsungs keyboard and do not want to switch...
Please help!!! Thanks

Hi all,
I was wondering if there's a way to configure wm6 or via an additional program where when it detects a phone number in a calendar appt., email, text, etc. it adds a link and you can dial directly from the app. I thought I saw this feature in some ROM I tried a few weeks back but can't remember which.
Appreciate any feedback.
Thank you.
Seconded. I thought I could at least copy/paste from an appointment into the dialer, but the pop-up keyboard is disabled in the dialer app. And I don't know how to "ctrl-c" with the Kaiser keyboard.
Hello here,
I have lost Autocomplete of Contacts when writing a name in the To: Field of an Sms message.
I have Fun Contact installed, which gives the contacts an iPhone type look, since then it's been playing up. I have since uninstalled this, but it still doesn't provide suggestions of names in my contacts list, when I begin to type a name in the To field.
It's very annoying and one of my favourite features of using Sms on Windows Mobile.
Any Suggestions would be really appreciated.
Regards.
Y.
Does other predictive input work fine with your default keyboard? One more thing, when you try entering a contact name, the predictive function searches only for the contacts with numbers entered in the "mobile number" field. Check if your contact has the number there.
Regards,
Carty..
I lost that feature when I installed touch keyboard + keypad from dutty's collection
but after uninstalling them its fine now
Hey Carty,
Thanks, that's something I hadn't checked. My other predictive imput isn't working either. I have an idea why it might be. I downloaded KaiserTweak and, changed quiet a few things with it.
I set the Autocomplete to suggest me 6 words and this option is not available from the Drop down menu in the settings menu Of WordComplete.
It is not working anymore even though I have set them both to 3 words and after entering 3 letters. I have since Soft reset the device? Help would be really appreciated.
Thanks
Found the Answer
As I was saying I had made some changes with the KaiserTeaks app.
One of the changes I had made was to Enable XT9 under the Text Message options.
I realised this just now as I was going through the options and have set it to disable XT9, which is the default and this has fixed the problem
Hope this helps someone out there.
thanks y0u5uf,
will try it out seems like your suggestion is the easiest way out since i installed app like kaiser tweak, touch keyboard+keypad
is there any way that i can erase the words that i have wrote in my predictive text, are they stored somewhere where i can just go into and delete them, i want to start all over??
nvm i got it lol sorry
SMS Input
I have a similar issue. When I enter a character in the "to" field I dont get a list of choices to pick from. BUT, if I hit backspace and erased a character the names and/or numbers pop up.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can fix this?
I really like the diamond (Ignito) but using it to dial people (in touchflo) or contacts (via Windows) is a nightmare. far too often I end up dialling someone when I'm trying to scroll using the touch screen. And the basic Windows contact manager is all too small scale to use without a stylus.
Has anyone got any advice or better still an alternative app that will let me use the touch screen and a big list in a reliable way. My daughter's Samsung Tocco is just a dream to use in comparison.
Thanks
Mike
You can use Resco Contact Manager. The beta is free and usable with touch function. Try it! You can enable/disable Resco Contact manager to handle calls, contacts, etc in settings
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/contactmanager/default.asp
The Screenshot is on the website as well.
Thanks Satus - will try that now
Mike
personally i never use the contacts tab to dial out. I just press the phone key then use the dialer keypad to start typing the first letters of the person im trying to dial then hit call. much faster than trying to scroll and no need for the stylus..
tried Resco contacts last night and I love it. Scrolling seems somehow much less sensitive and even if you do make an accidental press, all it does is pop-up the contact with 4 big buttons for dial, sms, email, and something else. If you hit the big back arrow in the corner it takes you back to your scroll list at the point you were previously
Thanks again Satus

Sorry to post a similar thread to others that seem to have no solution.
I posted this very similar question when I moved to an S-III 4 years ago:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/help/character-limit-contacts-notes-field-t2440978
I dropped Samsung devices al along in favour of LG, but recently I got a Note 8 from my provider, just to discover that Samsung keeps doing the same weird thing of limiting the number of displayed and editable characters in the contacts notes field.
In the long time gone era of Windows Mobile, it can be fixed in the registry (not a big deal), but I've found no way to do that in Samsung Devices (my S-III question thread explain how LG solution is different, and workable).
3th party programs are either limited or incomplete, and are not a real solution to this stupid limit. Furthermore, some are limited themselves by dessing in other áreas.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, or I will have to send my NOTE 8 back to the store......
Regards.
I got the same problem. I sitched all my contacts (3k+) to Google Contacts and I use Google Contact app on my S8. My contacts are still accessible in Samsung Contact and in Phone app. Everything is good. Note that I also use it in Dex mode that is my main work station.
Mmmmm
Do I understand that you can import your contacts to the phone via Google Contact?
And do you mean your contacts are displayed and editable in full length (notes field included) in your native Samsung phone contact App?
Just sent my Note 8 back to Samsung for this reason.
I have no way to check it now, but would be extremely surprised if this worked.
I would appreciate if you explain exactly how you made it.
Regards.
In the native Samsung Contact app (Phone), note feild is displayed and editable only to 1000 chars.
In Google Contact app (must download), note feild is unlimited. You can also dial from Google Contact app. There is an option to transfer contact from Phone database to Google Contact Database, both online and on the phone. Then In Samsung Contact app you can see Google Contact. But do not edit note feild in Samsung app if over 1000 chars, you'll loose them!
Thanks for explaining.
So you have to rely on Google Contact for Samsung devices NOT loosing your valuable information.... and still if you edit a contact (even by mistake) in Samsung Contact App you will again loose your data....
Mmmmmm
I'd rather stay away from Samsung until they overcome this stupid limitation.
Not to mention that I don't feel confortable having my full contact data in Google hands...
I'm a real fan of My Phone Explorer Sync App: neat, clean, and privacy wise.
Regards
Hello.
I am a new Google Pixel users.
As a skilled user of more types of Android devices (HTC, Huawei, Samsung) I am missing some things in Pixel 7 and here is one of the importans:
In Google Phone, I cannot lookup contacts with accented characters. For example, I cannot directly dial "Štefan" name, because it doesn't fit to "PQRS" button. Only way is to dial it from contacts.
On the other earlier phones it could do it.
I don't want to install a 3rd party app, if it isn't necessary. Is there a way to dial names like T9 with dialer button from phone app? What do I wrong?
Thanks.
