How to disable xposed from the installer app? - Xposed General

Hi,
So I'm trying to install an OTA (6.0.1 to be exact) to my mobile and want to disable xposed before applying them.
The disable button in the installer app is greyed out. I know that we can always disable xposed by flashing the zip from recovery. But is there any way to re enable that greyed out button in the installer. Is it just greyed out for me?
I'm using N5 Stock 6.0.0
Xposed v79
XposedInstaller 3.0-alpha
Systemless root

Well, as you have to re-flash Xposed after updating your ROM anyway, you could simply flash the uninstaller.zip, update your ROM and re-flash Xposed. No need for temporarily disabling it.

that's a valid point but still if one wants to disable it.. How?

Pointless. OTA install script checks /system files to ensure that it is stock before applying. The presence of Xposed files would cause OTA to fail. Disabled Xposed files (whatever that means) would still nix the OTA.

ok..thanks for the info... can anyone tell why is the install/update button disabled in the app. Im using 3.0 alpha 4

I've tried the uninstall.apk, but then the phone wont reboot.

Because the framework can only be flashed through custom recovery. Installing/Uninstalling it by clicking the corresponding buttons within the app won't work, thus they are greyed out.

Xposed Framework won't activate, need help

I tried to install the Framework for hours, nothing worked. No matter what I do, the Xposed installer still say that "the current Xposed-Version isn't active. Dou you installed the framework and rebooted the device?" (roughly translated). In the Framework Tab, both app_process and XposedBridge.jar is active/green (Version 58 / 54). I already tried to uninstall, reinstall, all three install options and a toggle.zip I found here., nothing makes a difference.
I'm using an Huawei Ascend G525-U00 with Android 4.1.2 and Kernel 3.4.0-perf-gf909b34-etc. etc., it's rooted via Kingo SuperUser.
I'm absolutely out of ideas. I strongly need Xposed to use XPrivacy....
Go to xposed framework setting and enable disable resource hook/api .reboot your device and xposed should be activated. But theirs a problem, modules which try to change ui will not work. Click thank you if I helped.

Xposed 2.7 Exp. Issues (KK 4.4)

-Running Xposed 2.7 Experimental1 on stock 4.4 rooted Droid Mini
Lately, I've been encountering some issues with Xposed in general.
-When downloading a new module
Anytime I find a new module I want, I download it normally and it downloads/installs no problem. But once it finishes, I don't get a notification to activate it and the module screen still says install. If I go to my modules, it's not there. I have to kill Xposed from recent apps and reopen it to my modules for the one I downloaded to be there, and only then can I activate it, which gives me the toast message to reboot.
-When updating an installed module
Similar to above, whenever I download a module update, it goes through normally, but after install, Xposed still says there's an update for said module, and said module disappears from my modules. Killing Xposed and reopening to my modules afterwards makes it show up, but in order for the module update changes to take effect, I have to disable the module, re-enable it, then reboot my phone.
Anyone have any idea? I've uninstalled and reinstalled the framework but that did nothing.

Help - Systemless Root

Hello,
First off, I am using a Oneplus 5 device running 7.1.1 Nougat.
I followed this guide to root my phone with Magisk 13.2 https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/how-to/oneplus-5-unlock-bootloader-flash-twrp-t3624877
I am able to download apps that require root, and grant them said root access.
However when trying to give AdAway Systemless root access (In preferences) the checkbox is greyed out and unusable.
So far so bad.
When trying to install BusyBox, and try to select a different install path (/su/xbin or /su/bin) I get the error message : "Systemless root is not configured, please choose another install location"
If I go into Magisk Manager both BusyBox and AdAway are Granted Root access, and when checking settings, Hosts Systemless is activated.
Am I simply blind and have I missed a step? On the Magisk Manager Homescreen, it says I have the latest version installed, and MAGIKSU is also validated.
Help please? I'm confused. D:
For AdAway you shouldn't have to bother with the systemless option. Just enable Systemless hosts in the Magisk Manager.
You could also use a Magisk module. There's a great one called Unified Hosts Adblocker. Unfortunately there's a bug in the Manager at the moment that makes it crash when downloading modules. They can be installed manually though (there's a download in the thread).
For busybox you've got a great installer here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2239421
It'll install as a Magisk module when flashed in recovery.
Hello,
I've followed your suggestion and manually installed Unified Hosts Adblocker. I'm assuming it will update on it's own when required? As it has no interface. (Also, I am still getting ads, is this normal? xD)
So installing AdAway won't trigger SafetyNet as long as I have "Hosts Systemless" checked right?
I have also flashed the BusyBox installer from the link you gave me. It shows up on Magisk Modules, however it hasn't created a busybox icon in my applist. (Again, no interface? Is this installed correctly?)
Furthermore, I've looked around a bit, and is it true I currently can not expect to run Xposed Framework on Nougat?
Thank you for your current answers, in the hopes of further ones.
With the hosts module you'll have to run it manually. Use a terminal emulator and type su followed by hosts and then follow the instructions. The m option is included in all the others... Don't forget to enable systemless hosts or it won't work. More about how you use the module in the thread.
There's no interface for the busybox installation, no. There's no need really...

Oh yeah. No Xposed for Nougat.
Thanks for your help, it's been of great assistance and sets my mind to rest that nothing really went wrong with my installation of Magisk. I'll keep an eye out for the Manager updates that'll fix the downloads.
I was once again just wondering about the updating of busybox, but I'll just assume that if I get a "Update busybox" from any app, I'll come back to the post you directed me to and update it that way.
You didn't answer my pondering about Xposed, but once again I'll just assume what I found is true and the developer currently hasn't had time to update it yet, and it may take a while.
Thank you for your time and the peace of mind you've procured me.

module canstantly says 'Module will be updated at next reboot'

Hi,
Freshly installed Magisk today. I have tried to install the 'Sony Framework' module from (Seyaru Module by eric9401 work).
However as title it says 'Module will be updated at next reboot'. I can disable the module, but the option to delete using the trashcan doesn't work either. Has anyone else come across this with any tips to resolve?
I am running a galaxy s8
Thanks

Some modules require full uninstall and reboot before you update them (AML, for example). To fix this, you'll have to uninstall Magisk and reinstall it and the modules you want to use. Make sure you download the update and that it's in your magisk folder before you uninstall everything.

Or u can manually uninstall modules from twrp if u have magisk mount already flashed. And the u go to magisk directory and deleted individual modules. No need to uninstall/reinstall magisk.
This is how I fixed it. I had same trouble with AML

Thanks. I was able to uninstall the modules this way. I still can't get the Sony framework working but i will keep trying
Dang.
Maybe good tip. My busybox had a red update mark but it was kind of working. Then i disabled modul, by doing i saw network sign (!) is gone so i "dicided" to full uninstall magisk.
Now my phone hang on bootlogo.
Not sure how to restore with flashfire backup i dumped. Maybe possible to push/install magisk manager via adb?
No twrp atm just stock recovery^^
Fixed by flashing magisk custom boot.img which was used to get root but now not able to install busybox modul :/
Switched to SuperSu busybox now working.

I think it could be the module's problem, try this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ap...apps-enabler-systemless-t3620100/post77621189

Magisk Manager shows N/A for installed and Superuser is greyed out even though I'm rooted.

Edit: I fixed things, disregard.
I've had my pixel 5 for a few years and have kept it stock firmware with root and a few common modules via LSPosed.
Magisk is not allowing me to uninstall so I can update firmware to the latest security update.
And I also noticed that the superuser and modules icons at the bottom are greyed out, and for the Installed field in the Magisk section it says N/A, even though my apps still have root access and seem to be working fine.
For the App section, it says 25.2 (25200)(33) and 831a398b (25206), com.topjohnwu.magisk
I tried using the easy PixelFlasher utility to see if it could force a reinstallation of the magisk app but that doesn't clear the issue with greyed out buttons, even though it did successfully install the latest firmware update.
Also worth mentioning, PixelFlasher was able to disable the modules before I pushed the firmware update, but now that I've pushed the firmware update the magisk icon is greyed in that as well.
Any suggestions on the path forward to get things working again?
