Need the data/data/com.android.nfc folder, sub folder, contents - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Did a stupid thing, removed NFC via titanium backup. Restore borks it, probably doesn't fix SE status, or owner, or permissions, or SOMETHING. Or the symbolic link lib in the sub directory is broken upon restore. Don't know.
So how do I restore just this folder and it's contents to how it should be, symlinks, permissions, ownership, etc and all?

probably be your safest course of action. Might as well get the newest marshmallow one while you're at it. That data folder should rebuild itself when you get the system app properly reinstalled.
If you do upgrade to marshmallow don't forget to flash the new bootloader, radio, and boot.img too.

Funny thing, didn't know TWRP could restore specific parts of a nandroid backup, so while I was heading in to make another backup before doing this I saw that it was asking my for check boxes on what to back up, that prompted me to go into the restore backup area and lo and behold, it prompts what to restore... so i just restored system, now I have NFC functional.
After SO much time wasted on extracting stuff all i had to do was remember to look at the TWRP restore function... UGH. Thanks anyway, everything is working now.

@toastgodsupreme,
You didn't waste your time. Consider it a learning experience

Yes it is just a matter of reverting any mods you make, making sure the superuser apk is installed as a user application,, then delete the su binary in /system/xbin/ folder. After that a factory reset will take it back to stock.
oh ok. Thanks a lot!

Anyone have the same problem? Or anywhere to get the original image to flash back? Even 7.15 or lower version.
Thanks!

If you are talking about the image from the KFHD_SRTool then nothing changed in the data folder because the data folder has nothing to do with the .img in the tool you used. That is an .img of the system partition. There are ten other partitions from this device, Its just the system image is the most important and usually the one people mess with, inadvertently bricking their device. I don't quite understand what you are trying to do?

How about a quick "how-to" for the rest of us. TWRP, root etc. if used, or at least how you went about flashing the stock ?

according to a search in Google its not possible to be retail and have a demo because its 2 different ROMS.
you can use TWRP to wipe everything Data, Dalvik and System.
Then use the backup.
This are tips so please use at your own risk.

dont know what to say to that, however, you can try this:
http://repo.xposed.info/
install framework (use flash mode) and look for module BootManager. You can choose witch apps will run at system start. Disable demo app.
Make sure you follow all instructions and good luck.

I'd say yes, but it's personal preference really. If you'd happen to lose your EFS, then you're screwed because it contains your IMEI, MAC Address, Wifi MAC Address, etc...
If you flash a lot of ROMs I would say yes, but if you flash zero ROMs or very few, then I would say it's not totally necessary. It only takes one bad flash to ruin your EFS.
No one replied so I figured, why not?

Just do a regular Nandroid backup in recovery via TWRP and there is a check box for the EFS partition. Check it along with anything else you might want to back up at the time. Make sure you are on the latest TWRP version, otherwise you may not have this option.

I wasn't the one who originally asked the question I just saw something about needing to backup something. I'm kinda paranoid about backing things up. Few more things to ask. Do you back EFS up with every nandroid and just restore it with everything else, or do you keep a copy of just the EFS itself and restore it separately if something messes up?

I do a one time back of of just the EFS for each major android update, then erase the older version.
Like right now I have the efs backup for 5.0.2. When 5.1 comes to play I will back that up and then delete the 5.0.2. Just my preference

One more question. Can you make a backup of just the EFS partition and restore just that partition or do you have to restore a complete nandroid of the whole system? Thanks I'm sure this is all basic stuff to you but I seem to learn something new every day.

Ah! Yes, well, that'll work. I'm not entirely free-thinking in Android enough to slide in from that angle! Backup current, flash, cycle on/off, backup clean stock in TWRP, restore current. If current won't work, hell, flash clean again and root from TWRP!
Whoa! LOTS of system images! Feasible to edit out all non-system flash actions in the xml, rezip, use cfc in RSD, then?

I suppose you could do that, but I find it much easier to simply flash the 10 sparsechunks manually using fastboot.

Not that I know of. If you're really after a one-click solution, editing the batch file like you suggested earlier is probably your best bet. Although if it were me, by the time I sufficiently edited and re-zipped everything, I probably would have been able to flash it manually twice.

Which is the correct firmware for the US S3/522 for this list?

I went to codeworks page:
There are 4 files for the x522 in firmware and 4 in modems. I am assuming the "19s" firmware is for India so is the "20s" for the US?
But the 4 files in the modem section is confusing, which one/one's are for the US model x522? here is the link for the modems https://host.llamasweet.tech/codeworkx/lineage/s2/
Thanks

it certainty restores boot. not sure about modem, I never touched it. you have nothing to loose flashing it. it supposed to be bone stock. just delete two lines in the script and re-save zip. you have to do wipe, wipe data, then mount, copy zip, flash, reboot. in that order, I wasted hours today finding out that order is required. otherwise, it won't load.

The original question is still unanswered about which one is the correct firmware for the US model amng the firmware provided by codeworks, hopefully someone knows that and will share in interest of others that might have the same problem.
Thanks again @leo221 for providing a clear and easy solution.
