For those Of you who swear that you've done all you can to resolve the battery drain experienced while using your rom such as:
-re-flash
-hard reset
-task 29
-flash a new radio
-etc
one place you might want to look is your sd card. I was experiencing monster battery drain and tried all those remedies above but to no avail, my battery kept running low. A detailed inspection of my sd card revealed that I had a virus on it...My sd card is 8 gb but the corrupted folder showed it contained 300gb inside of it. Opening the folder I saw lots of folders with weird fonts and objects I'd never placed on my sd card...im certain that those objects were running in the background without me knowing...LONG STORY SHORT
I reformatted my sd card, task 29'ed then reflashed my ROM and voila...no more battery drain. I have used my phone extensively for the past 12 hrs and my battery percentage is at 51
thanks for the heads up. when i got this phone in jan. it would last all day with heavy use. now it lasts half a day, I will try this out.

check out HD Tweak or Advanced Config. they have power saving settings. try those settings and see if it helps.
I signed contract with optus in australia, it was all good, until i download some music and i use root explorer to move to sd card because by default it comes to internal memory. After i did it, i cannot see music songs that i just moved to sd card, and it starts lagging, reboot randomly and now battery drain overnight.
usually if i put stamina, overnight only cost 5% maximum, but lastnight was nearly 50%.
Check the battery usage.
If anyone have any suggestion why and how to solve it please give.
Thanks

You have some corrupt files on SD card and the media scanner is causing this battery drainage... You might want to backup your SD card, reformat it and check if the music files are not corrupt or anything before putting them back on the card...
Solved it by format the sd card, and yes, corrupted files i guess, very laggy when open the folder.
Thanks for your reply

I've just run into something interesting...last few weeks, my Note (4.1.2 stock, Philz kernal, rooted) has been having some issues
with battery life.
It hasn't been lasting the day, even with a new battery, battery stats didn't show anything unusual. At times, the back would get
hot and I'd pull the battery, reboot and it might be ok the rest of the day, or it might do it again.
This weekend I started to notice that if I accessed a couple specific programs, that I have moved to the EXTERNAL SD card, that
is when it would act up. Moved those programs back to the internal SD, problem disappeared.
I took the microSD card out, put it in an SD adapter, plugged into my computer and it was having a very hard time reading it.
I bought a new microSD, same size (16gb), copied everything from my backup of the card, over to the new one and installed it
in the Note, and I've not had one issue and the battery appears to be holding up A LOT better.
Now, this card originally came from my Dell Streak when I used it, so it is going on 4-5 years old, has had a lot of stuff copied
and removed.
To the microSD or NAND experts, could it be a failing card even this early? Things act up, but I would think the card would last
a bit longer than 4-5 years?
Hey
I am using Cyanogenmod 11 and my sdcard is unmounting itself.
First, the card is working normally while DEVICE ISN'T SLEEPING.
Second, it happens mostly while WE'RE SLEEPING AT NIGHT or WHILE THE PHONE LEFT DEEP SLEEP (Paranormal Activity? LOL)
This problem only occurs in cm11, because in others ROMs like cm9/cm10.1, the sdcard dont unmounting itself.
Any help?

Its no help, but I have the same problem with my tf700 and SanDisk 64GB card
guys,
does anyone have experienced this ?
If i install a 16gb sd card on the phone
it starts to over heat and the battery drains crazy fast
from 100% to 2% in like 2 to 3 hours
thats it
the cell have the stock tmobile firmware
bootloader is mint
it is a stock factory cell
no mods yet
but i have that problem
if i install the memory it do the same thing
can be the motherboard on the phone or can be the memory itself
so i am running without the memory
and it behaves like a normal phone
regular battery drain and normal temp
I have a G2 also and the G4 battery last more than the G2
but if i install the sdcard.... HAVOC!!!!
so... i am puzzled
any clues ?
Thanks
Max.
Did you try another memory card?
What is the brand and where did you buy it?
Walmart
PNY prime performance 16gb
and I do not have another
very strange behaviour
I'm not sure about the exact reason, but if I use low quality SD Card in DSLR while recording video it heats up. You should try some other card.
