Rooting your device is not illegal. Ofcourse Samsung will do believe you it is. And you'll get a hard time goaling your rights...

At this moment there is no clear information about this problem.
Pingpongroot method is for Android 5.0.2 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge devices. If our kernel is similar to Edge's kernel (has same vulnerability), so we can get root without tripping knox counter. Anyway, no news, no testers, not even kernel comparision.
There is another method avoiding knox - engineering bootloader. "Silver bullet" But not in our guns

Im by no means new to the rooting community, but I'm drawing a blank on finding the information I need. Maybe just having a blind day lol.
But is there anyway to root the AT&T Galaxy S5 on Lollipop?

This has been asked and answered SEVERAL TIMES in SEVERAL THREADS. If you are on G900A and took the OTA to 5.0 you are screwed, no root and no downgrade. If you are on G870A (S5 Active) then you can downgrade, root, and reupgrade with keep root through muniz_ri method or flash a custom ROM like TMS5 or Alliance. I'm feeling the need to make a Lollipop 5.0 Q&A thread so new threads asking week old questions can stop cluttering up the forums.
Well since this post has obviously butthurt someone will a mod please delete. Thanks.

Not trying to be an azzhole but there is a search function for a reason...if you had done a search for your question you would've answered it by reading within a couple mins.
If Someone know if theres someone working on Root for S5 G900A?
If so, changelog or something that tell us how the process is going?

Lol, no thanks, i love this phone, just asking xD
Im about to be pissed if I cant root this phone. Does any one have any links to rooting:
ATT S6 5.0.2
LRX22G.G920AUCU2AOF3
Nothing???
hmmm. crap I will just have to take this phone back
Use the search button.
No there is currently no root method for of3. I don't understand why people just can't answer a question instead of telling users to "use the search button". This forum is for helping other users out, and I don't mean by telling them to search. If it pisses you off then just ignore the question, That simple. The time it took you to type out "use the search button" you could have answered his question.
It doesn't annoy me at all. It's better that people develop the skills to support themselves, rather than expecting to be spoonfed the answer.

This. It's teaching you to fish, rather than giving you a fish. And also, this forum is NOT for helping users, it's a development forum. Users should be courteous and respect the forum rules, which includes searching before posting.
He actually is in the Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting not in the development section, Now I don't mean to be an @$$ just my two cents.

The entire forum is a development forum.
Ah, no. the AT&T galaxy S6 Forum has seven forums, three of which are development. There are differences. Q & A is SUPPOSED to be more beginner friendly.

Thank you. I agree 100%.
not yet
as of todays date 09/23/15
no root yet for OF3 , or OF4
im stuck waiting for pingpong to get it
Since pingpong is a root method that exploits something that's since been patched in OF3+, I'd expect if at all ever a different method or exploit. I'm with ya, I was working with the team who was trying to unlock the BL and I lost root in the process having to flash OF3 over OE2 to get my phone working again. It sucks without root ;-/ but those are the risks we take for the community

Thanks for your willingness to risk your device for the benefit of the community. Hopefully something will be found for the new builds.

Hey all,
Came from the HTC family, loving my new Note 5 however I want to know what's the best way rooting my Note 5 without tripping (knox?) from what I read. Also, do I need a custom rom install after rooting it? My main priority is to root the phone so I could install (adblocker and retrieve files that non-root files able to recover)
Model number SM-N920l and on Telstra (Aus)
Any instructions/tips would be great.
My best advice? Read around a bit before you do anything and all your questions will be answered. I'm not being rude but the main question you asked is one of the most regularly answered.
The answer is you cannot root without tripping Knox. And once it has been tripped, it can't be undone.
So, as I said, read around a bit and you'll find all the answers you need and won't something you'll later regret

Thank you for your unhelpful advice. I already read around, I created a thread solely so I could get some clarifications before I proceed or if anyone could guide me which is the best thread to start with.
Great way to start. The problem is that if you had read you would have seen at least 3 threads in Q and A which tell you rooting always trips Knox.
Most of us here are eager to help but would rather help those who help themselves first, otherwise the forum becomes clogged with the same questions.
So simple answers: you can't root without tripping Knox.
If you want to root, there are clear threads in General and Android Development which show you what to do, with instructions. Look for anything by dr.ketan and you won't go far wrong.
Oh, and if you do decide to root and then go back to stock unrooted, your phone will not deep sleep unless you install one of the fixes. Again, there are threads in General.

Hello there guys.Feels nice to come back to XDA Developers again.I really need some help with my phone.
I want it to root it so i can delete all the stupid pre installed and non uninstallable apps samsung offers.
Apparently I have the model with the (F)N in the end,so I dont think the other methods would work in my case.
I have bricked an older device called Lenovo Vibe Z (K910) which had some factory problems and I tried to fix them,so I am a bit afraid of trying the methods given(Magisk,Xposed, etc)
What would you recommend?
Sorry for any misunderstanding, but I dont certainly know where I should have posted that thread.

I don't have this device but, your device information is a bit confusing...
The SM-J710FN was released in April of 2016 as outlined in the following link.
http://www.phonemore.com/samsung-galaxy-j7-2016-sm-j710fn/specs/2747
The 2017 Variant was the SM-J730 (Variants) with no "FN" indicator as outlined in the following link.
http://www.phonemore.com/samsung-galaxy-j7-2017-j7-pro/models/1658
With that stated...
The following area of the forum is specific to the J710 Variants.

This could be contributing to your inability to locate information on your specific device.
This is an innocent mistake that isn't a big deal...
Good Luck!

Malfunction!
Device is finally rooted but camera doesnt seem to work.I didnt flash any roms etc, just the DisEncryption and SuperSu.
I cant use instagram and other camera-using apps! What can i do to fix it?
Hi everyone!
I have a really difficult question, as you see above
Is root and custom rom good option?
Is there any alternative for samsung pass? Or is there any "hider" for KNOX status 0x1? Can magisk do that?
The benefits and downsides of rooting have already been thoroughly discussed on this forum. Use search next time!
Now, let's try to be helpful anyway. On to the first question: Why do you want to root? Is there anything specific you want out of your phone that you can't get without rooting?
