Will pay $50 for working marshmallow aosp rom - HTC Desire 510

I know $50 isn't much, but it's all I have. Development has really slowed down because of all the ungratefulness towards the developers that put hard work and long hours into this phones and all they get in return is complaints. So I'm willing to pay $50 for a daily driver Android 6.0 aosp/cm13 rom. If anyone is willing to help contribute that would be helpful

Myself and @rbheromax are working on the cm13 plus I'm also working on something else. It's not that easy though! @rbheromax has put countless hours into the cm13 he's been working on and I mean hours! He's up til late late late at night/early morning as am I but we're still getting to many errors and no boot.

Oh ok, thanks for the response and good luck!

Thank you to any/all working on this.
Would love to have M on my 510

I sure wish we could get the CM13 working but it doesn't seem to want to boot.. It has so many errors to figure out first and not even sure whether or not this phone can even handle CM13 but it can handle CM12.1 so maybe.. Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Anyway, he might want to contribute to stirring up devs' activities in creating INDEPENDENT (i.e. debloated, unjailed) ROMs...
What a fun if you buy the newest but software-CRIPPLED device, which none can remedy yet?
The newest shiny phones look nice, however their functionality is more for the companies they plugged their parasite services - and just them is what take the most of hardware resources.
What's more, the newer the phone, the more efficient CPU, GPU, LTE etc. - the more they SPY every step you make!

hey thanks mrmike and rbheromax for working so hard on the rom. i wish i could make roms like you and rbheromax

IMHO the most critical part in unlocking device potential is compiling kernels!
I wish I had possessed power of doing this... ;-/
In the case, I would recompile not just kernel to HTC Desire510 64bit, but also to many other devices with Android which ramble around nearby...
Just as I routinely do to many linux PCs...
Is compiling kernels for Android much more difficult than i.e. for Gentoo, Funtoo?

Lol you ain't bothering me bro! I just don't feel like doing dev work for a phone when it's not appreciated or people think we are required to do something or help them. I'm sure you get the same type of crap and entitlement attitudes from some people but that type of attitude towards myself and other devs is pretty much why ALL dev work on this phone was just dropped... I don't know of a single dev that's working on the desire 510 anymore.

The oneplus2 is a nice phone! I have a desire 510 just sitting there doing nothing anymore since I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S7 edge lol.. I wonder how much longer until android N comes out.. it's funny that they're following the alphabet like k-kitkat L-Lollipop M-Marshmallow and now N lol.

i saw a thread some weeks ago, that guy might be able to help us. i will try and search for the webpage again and link to it.

It might not be a huge difference from note 3 but is definitely a big upgrade from my note 2.

Verizon :/ I really am getting tired of it from them tbh. I buy the phone, why should they lock the bootloader. (Yes, I know there are reasons, but still) they are not leasing the phone to me, You buy the device and use it on their network.I am paying for a service. That's just how I look at it.

I sure understand that thought. But I also understand the carriers not wanting to warranty phones that we hose trying to mess with them.
It's probably too much effort to position themselves to offer an unlock code for the bootloader, which would cost 'loss of warranty'. If they don't have to warranty them, then why should they care?

probably because so many people lie when they call for warranty service, saying they dont know why their phone suddenly "stopped" working..
Now, what could be done, is to sell an unlocked phone/boot loader, NO WARRANTY AT ALL, and see how many folks buy that model...
Not many I bet..

Has anyone tried this method of rooting the Turbo?

Just saw this and it looks like a work around to paying $20 but was curious if its legit?
http://www.how-to-root.club/mp3-0/motorola-droid-turbo-6727.html
I wouldn't touch it man. It's even more sketchy that there is a 5.0 rom underneath it when our device doesn't have one. I think this may be labeled turbo but intended for the international version. I'm no dev, but I would not touch this until someone tears apart the apk and gives the green light that it's not bs.
Yea, thats what I was afraid of. Thanks for responding.

This is why developers stop or do not work on making LOCKED PHONES UNLOCKED OR ROOTED. PAY THE $20.00 that is cheap for what you are getting also the work and hours one puts into this. WOW this makes me so mad. This is why I walked away from XDA years ago when I made ROMs for eris, razer and other phones. There is users out there that still try to rip off the only ones willing to help you unlock or root your phone. WOW "I saved $20.0 " man oh man.

Use the version you develop. Clearly that doesn't exist yet
Same thing every android release. It'll be out after the official release, and source code drops. Don't know how long it will take, but it'll get there. We had a very long wait for 5.0 because of massive changes, not to mention that every time he got it working on one dev version, it was broken as heck on the next dev version, so we just have to wait and see. Hope that explains it well enough. Better than a "When it's ready", or "none" answer everyone always gives.
The Nexus images are now live so I would guess the source won't be far behind it. Can someone comment on the number of changes to ART compared to Lollipop. From the surface it seems that Marshmallow should be 5.2 and not 6.0 but maybe all the changes are under the hood.
It is coming:
rovo89:
"In framework version 74, I have fixed some more incompatibilities which could lead to bootloops or crashes. I assume that most of these crash logs contained the string "Incompatible set properties", which is actually a consequence of previous method verification errors. It's hard to say which ROMs and devices were affected - but flashing the new version shouldn't hurt even if everything looks fine with older versions. If you do notice any issues and are sure that it's not caused by yourself, you have higher chances of getting them fixed if you open a detailed GitHub issue (usually I will need at least a full logcat).
I won't be able to work on Xposed for the next 2-3 weeks - no time for development, support or questions at all. If the rumors I have read are right, I should be ready just in time to start porting Xposed to M."

Remember, the reason why it took so long for an official version for android 5.0 was because lollipop uses ART environment and xposed whas always made for dalvik originally.
So I think it will take less time now.

I haven't been able to find it, only snarky comments from users here about how its obviously not done. I have checked all the stickeys in this forum as well as the development one...
I doubt you will get much info on progress, as users tend to hold any claims against developers... But I would have though there would be something official saying "its in progress" to try and help stop the inquiries.
Oh well, will be a nice surprise when it drops.

Nope, they probably won't be. We'll that's what they said. It's really trolls here and @RaymanFX fault that they left. But it's his choice I can't force him.

If you fail to even grasp basic information made public on a site called 'github', then maybe, just maybe you should stop posting nonsense.
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_device_samsung_noblelte-common/tree/cm-14.0.
This is the device tree for Android Nougat, kernel and vendor trees have been created a year ago or so, and ever since I have been working on the device.
That being said, I own the N920T variant, which is still facing the issues with no incall audio that I was not able to fix yet (and nobody else was able to fix it either).
However, I was told my device sources (yes, mine, I and only I created them from the beginning, of course many more people worked on the CyanogenMod and Exynos platform code) work fine on other variants too and as part of those efforts, the N920C (international variant) has working incall audio with the same audio and RIL stack.
I'm not even going to start arguing about money here, with an average pay of 30€ per hour for an engineering/integration task like this, that would make 25 hours of work max. (then the price of a new Galaxy Note 5 would be surpassed). I spent way more time working on the device so far, believe it or not, I honestly don't care.
You are free to compile the images from the sources I provided and flash them on your device - the general system will work, while (important) things like the camera will not.
But wouldn't you say at least the basic functions of a phone, like calls, should be working before releasing even a public build?

Who needs calls now a days that was Sarcasm K, doesn't always go through on text.
Like I said I can't make you do anything, I just can wait and hope like the rest.
