I found out a few days ago that I wasn't receiving SMS messages, then I got a phone call and after hanging up I received everything that had been sent to me. I changed nothing from the time texting was fine until it broke. I've reset my phone and flashed a new rom to no avail.
I'm still on DOK1 and have a T3. Is this issue occurring because I haven't updated the loader/modem? If so could you point me in the direction of a guide for upgrading to DOK2?

Hi, lately I noticed that when the phone rings for an incoming sms there are infact 2 of them: the problem is that the first one often shows a timestamp 5-6 hours earlier!
Is it an operator problem? Someone else having this issue?
Thanks
Today the issue showed in a different way: I opened the inbox folder and saw an unread sms that i wasn't aware of.
A couple of seconds later the phone rang the sms tone but no new messages showed up. I opened the unread message and saw that it was sent 3 hours earlier.
Am I the only one with this issue?
never heard/seen that...it could be operator error or maybe clock setting incorrect?
i get that thing with voicemails sometimes....
i recently got a voicemail that was sent 2 days ago and as for the time stamp, thats when your buddy sent the sms to you. Its a network issue not a phone, so dont worry
Thanks guys for the answers.
The clock is correct and I was thinking to a network issue too, the only thing that made me wonder was that - sometimes - the sms shows up when I wake up the phone.
Can you give a little more information?
Operator, how frequently this happens, if a reset helps?
Reason I ask is i'm on T-Mobile in the UK and have something similar that happens, however at times I don't get the txt at all until I either send or make a call, which seems to 'unclog' the message.
I'm pretty sure this is a network problem, and a friend of mine has contacted T-Mobile who confirmed they have had network problems since the start of the new year. However I've not had this confirmed. Anyone able to verify this also?
Iv had this alot with my handset. Sometimes theres a message sitting in my inbox, and i am unaware of this. the phone only rings wen i go into the inbox and have a look for myself. all of a sudden the phone rings and iv got a new message. This is a big issue for Tmobile!! if there is alot of us having this problem, it could be ROM related as iv still got the standard tmobile shipped ROM.

This has been happening a lot lately, I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing this issue as well. Every time I boot up my phone an old SMS will send to its original recipient. Needless to say I'm getting tired of people asking "Why did you resend that to me?"
I'm running Cyn 4.2.3.1 (but it has occurred on his other builds as well) I'm using handcent and stock message app.
Any other additional info anyone would need to help with this issue just let me know.
Thanks in advance.
I used to get this on the early hero builds.. along with some other sms issues, but I've never noticed it since I switched back to CM..
I'm having this same issue. It seems that when I reboot my phone it clears out the text messages I've sent and received the last few days and resends one from a couple days ago.
Here's the deal.
I had CyanogenMod 5.0.6 installed, and two days ago I installed Froyo.
It was smooth sailing until today evening when I try to call someone and hear dead space, although the phone indicates that the other party picked up.
It worked just fine a few hours before, nothing changed.
I reboot it, just in time for an incoming call which I take.
I haven't been able to make a call anywhere (including voicemail) except, for some strange reason, to google voice (and it appears I am able to call anything through google voice "to place a call, press 2").
I tried flashing the 2.1 radio and going back to CyanogenMod 5.0.6, but that didn't help.
I then flashed the update to 2.2 again, but it's the same deal.
What's going on, and what should I do now? I got the phone 5 days ago, rooted and unlocked the bootloader and now, of course, have no warranty so I can't really send it in.
It appears that the Froyo update isn't at fault here.
Please help...
It appears that the problem fixed itself. I woke up to find everything working purrfectly. I don't get it - was there a problem with AT&T yesterday night or something?
Hey everyone,
So yesterday I noticed that I would occasionally receive multiples of the same text message. It started out only being once or twice, but it has increased in frequency. Today, I reset my phone with Odin3 and installed SRE 1.2.2a. Also, I added the lag fix. Unfortunately after ressetting, I am still experiencing the same problem. I thought it was an issue with handcent, so I switched to chompSMS and the same thing is happening. Most recently, I have received the same text message 7 times, and it was originally sent an hour ago. The odd thing is that each copy that is sent to me shows the ORIGINAL send time, so its something on my end that is going wrong.
For the record I have notifications only turned on for one SMS client at a time, so thats not an issue. i have toyed around with my sms settings and everything but for some reason I still am getting this problem. anyone have any help?
update: just texted myself and i have gotten 3 duplicates of the SMS in the last 3 minutes....wtf????

I have sre 1.2.2, the lagfix ext4 and firmware jh3.
The same crap is happening to me! I have no clue what it is, I'm talking to this girl and since I'm getting some of her text multiple times, it is delaying her other text so it ruins the whole conversation. It's bull****! She's on an iphone and she wasn't having an issue.
Anyway, I switched my sim card from the Captivate to my Bold 9700 and started to text myself, the same crap is happening. So, I don't think it's the Captivate.
Hey all. Just this morning I can no longer receive text messages. Ive tried restarting and hard restarting and it doesnt fix the problem. I am rooted and running a cutom rom. Ive this rom on the phone since January with no issues. Any one have any ideas?
