Capacitive buttons don't light up - Blu Vivo XL

Is it just me or these buttons don't light up, difficult to use it in the dark.
Is there any setting I can change to fix this, very annoying.
Any help appreciated.

You are correct. They don't. And nope.

Damn it mine does not light up also lol

No these buttons don't light up
No there is no settings to activate them
Yes it is very annoying..

I don't mind that they don't light up but sometimes they are not very responsive and that's very frustrating. I'm gonna get a Blu Life One X instead.

Upper led colors

Hi guys,
is it possible to use the upper led as notification like in the other android phones? And if so is it possible to change the colors and the blinking time?
I did some searchs about this issue but i found nothing.
I too am wondering this, i just recently noticed that on a very low battery the upper led starts flashing
yeah same here, looks lilke only design for battery status.
im not confident in an api way to change it, and it might not even flash or blink, and still not very visible.
sry but i never eard of a tweak for that, but could be interresting too.

When I had a G1, it had LED notifications on the top of the phone which were very useful. The N1 only has the trackball light but it's really sl-ooo-www... I also wish the LEDs lit up as well.

Home and back light on htc one

On the HTC one the home and back button does not come on all the time. When i turn the phone on should those the home and back button light up right away??? mine don't. If im in the dark they sometimes come on, not all the time. Just trying to figure out how those 2 buttons are suppose to work.
thanks
steve
They are triggered by (a lack of) ambient light via the light sensor.
Mine come on as soon as i press the power button and turn off soon as i press of

Mine light up when not needed and refuse to shine in the dark. So far I've not been worried about it; thumb finds the right place most of the time

The light sensors on the front top left determine when to turn it off or on. cover them with your finger and the home and back should light up. If not - the light sensors are not working. I've noticed that very little light will trigger these things. even the light from the lcd will be enough light to not allow the home and back keys to light up especially in the dark... Hopefully there will be a tweak forth coming.

My sensors must be faulty then as mine don't come on when I put my fingers over the sensor?

[Q] Vibration on hardware back and home buttons

One of my only complaints about this phone is that the hardware back and home buttons are a bit small. If their tap targets extended to the screen edges from the HTC logo, all would be well.
Alas, that's not the case. So, to make up for this, I was curious if there was a way to make the phone vibrate when I tap these buttons. I seem to miss these, and tap twice or more, and sometimes, I'm just being impatient, but I don't know until it's too late, since the response isn't always immediate.
They seem to vibrate for me. I'm on viper Rom but pretty sure it did it before too. It is a rather faint vibrate but it's there.

Well, maybe my phone's just being dumb, but there is definitely no vibration here. It does vibrate on other functions, though.
Anyone else able to confirm?

Do you have power saver turned on? Power saver disables the vibration.

Dim hardware keys

Is there any way to dim the back lights on the buttons at the bottom if my phone? At night they're very glaring
[SGH-I337]
nope i think, but its done a good job glaring ur eye to take ur attention, or u can use no led mod make use amoled as notilight instead of ur hardware button led.
ps, i wonder if those two light at da bottom were red light n glaring at darknight when both lighten up, it would be creepy to see from afar herherher

I dont know how fast they can be switched on/off.
But something like PWM should be possible. (See wikipedia)
Eg. Swithing on for 2 ms and switching it off for two ms makes the led seem less bright. The eye is slow, so it doesnt see the fast on/off switching.
When eg. Switched on 1microsecond and off 10ms they should be dimmed much more.
Regards

Capacitive Colours

Just wanted to know if anyone else notice the different colours in the captive buttons. The light white coloured captives on the HTC one is running stock rom and the dark blue coloured captives second htc one running sky dragon v7 beta. At first I thought it could be the kernel but even with stock rom on both installed colours never changed. Although I am glad not to have any purple tint but gotta say started to prefer the blue look just as it stands out.
Yeah mine are pink on Viper.
I think it has to do with the brightness of the LEDs since white LEDs tend to turn pink and blue depending on their brightness levels. Unfortunately I haven't succeeded in changing it even with the Capactive Buttons app in the Play Store which is meant to do just that.

Its strange, even with max brightness no change, also the app worked for when some roms didn't have Capacitive button lights on auto.

Yep. No change. Its weird. Its obviously doing something because the capacitive buttons flicker off and then come back on but the brightness is the same. The only one that works is turning them off entirely.

Hmm you don't it could also be kernel related as theres the notification mod to flash the capacitive when theres a notification

I don't know. I haven't messed with kernels in a while. Mostly because I don't use my phone as much now that I have a Nexus 7 and it doesn't overheat unlike my One. I just happened to grab my phone when I saw your post and noticed my buttons are pink on Viper.

Cool man, yeah at times i prefer using the nexus 7 at times just because bigger screen but mainly on the phone more as need for daily use but did find nexus 7 2013 design to be a bit annoying when its hot compared to the 2012 model. Although got both 2013 seems to be same as htc one just alot bigger.
