It should only need root, and to have busybox installed, make sure to open busybox and do the install in the app too and then install viper and it should prompt you to install the viper audio drivers when you first open and then reboot and it should work great. I'll give it try myself in a few.
@DJTeeJay
Doesn't work for me. I installed busybox, let that install and then installed Viper. I let it install the driver and reboot and the driver is not on. I have had Viper before but it was a install using TWRP.
Any guesses to my problem?

Sorry i meant to list them all and my gf distracted me, didnt mean to hit post.
Flash them in the order they are #'ed. After all 4 are flashed, wipe Dalvik.
After it's done booting, flashed attached updated apk.
Let me know how you make out!
Just clarifying a few things here.
1st) After flashing all 4 files in their proper order, you do not have to wipe Dalvik, a simple cache wipe will be sufficient (this may or may not work, refer to edit down below if needed). Reboot to system after cache wipe.
2nd) After booting into android, go ahead and install the updated apk @DJTeeJay kindly posted for us (thanks!).
3rd) After installing the updated apk, I'd recommend a reboot (although not personally tested, may prevent Abnormal status) since I had a problem with V4W after installing the driver within the updated apk. I rebooted after installing the driver like normal, went into V4W, checked driver status and noticed it was Abnormal.
4th) If you received the Abnormal status, don't freak out as this is an easy fix. Just uninstall the driver, reboot (not soft reboot mind you), reinstall driver, reboot again & fixed.
EDIT: Ran into a forever boot after wiping only cache & this is the 1st time that's happened to me. I held volume down and power buttons for 10 seconds, let go of power while still holding volume down to get into bootloader, selected recovery, did a Dalvik/Cache wipe this time around and it was fixed.
Hope this helps you guys.

So I'm on Pacman ROM. I download all the files like you said and flashed in order. Then when booted I install busybox and viper. When I open viper up it says that I should install the driver so I say yes, it gains root, and then basically freezes and crashes.
Any ideas?
EDIT: Never mind I fixed it. You need to install all files in order, reboot install new apk and then profit.

I'm getting these bootloops consistently as well, they happen to about 50% of my boots but I haven't found any way to fix this and have replicated it multiple times on different ROMs. You're the only other person I've found who has reported this problem other than myself!
I've traced it back to only occurring after installing ViPER multiple times in different scenarios, and only after flashing the .zips. More specifically, the libfiles_soundfix .zip seems to be the immediate trigger of these random bootloops upon rebooting.

Hi. I'm trying to fix my sisters N1. I know a decent amount about Android, I've got an s2 and have had it for a while. But I can't seem to be able to get this nexus off this white boot loader screen. Running cynogenmod but I don't have a clue how she got to this screen. I rooted the phone and installed the rom but was years ago. I'm so lost and need it fix urgently. Would be greatful for any help.

RSD Lite and Fastboot. Got the files from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1853522. Also I didn't want to share specifics until we got the OP's phone figured out and fixed, which we did.
That happened to me the other morning it was bad. I used the firmware before the latest update through rsdlite and voila it came back to life! I wish we can use beats installer but sadly we cant. At least we didnt hard brick the device.

Hope this helps
Okay to start off I have bricked my phone through beats installer, I was pretty ticked, as most of you are. I brought my phone back to life and want to put everything I did to do so. I will put everything I did, if it actually helped or not, you would have to ask a Dev. Before I start thanks to Matt for the help.
Okay the first thing I did was go into recovery and wipe EVERYTHING (including cache)
I then attempted to flash the software from my sd card (I was desperate and had no idea what to do lol)
After a little more reading and finally getting my phone to charge (i wanted to let it charge for a while) I found out about RSD Lite (http://www.tucows.com/preview/853731)
I booted into my bootloader (fastboot) and connected to my computer. I had already opened RSD Lite and it recognized my phone. I then selected the software for my phone I found on a thread here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1853522) and started the process. It around 10 min, so be patient.
A guy I talked to did the exact same thing for at least 2 hours and it finally went through. Keep at it and don't give up, hopefully this will help you get your phone working again

Hello, I am running a stock RAZR M, but rooted when I first got it to remove bloatware.
I'm just looking to install the latest update (I keep getting the error message since I deleted the bloat apps, and I can't restore apps).
I dont think I "unlocked boot loader", because I don't even know what that it. I'm just trying to get this update on my rooted phone. Even if I lose root, I'm ok with that.
I'm pretty new to this, but have done some rom flashing on previous phones.
Once I download this file, do I install through Clockwork manager? Can I boot into system mode and install from .zip?
Thanks so much for your help!

From my understanding, you can't update without all the bloatware.
And updating will remove root. You will have to reroot.

I would go there and start searching.
I know most of the users had to install all the apps/bloatware that they deleted in their system/apps folder to be able to update.

Questions:
What error message exactly are you getting?
How do you know it's because your rooted?
Did you try the recovery method described in the root thread?
My phone is rooted and I have no such thing here ... Wich version gearmanager are you running?
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The error message is shown in the screenshot attached.
I installed the new gear manager 1.4.1
I can revert back to the older versions and they work fine.

Just updated my galaxy gear. AT&T rooted and working perfectly fine.
I tried to unistall and still same problem when I install the new version. It even happens when the watch is off too. I think the new version detects if you have a rooted phone.

The gear has nothing to do with it. The new software will not open and gives me that error message telling me that my device is not compatible.

Ah, your phone is rooted.
Isn't there a way to root your phone so it's impossible to detect?

I don't believe so. I can do that if I make it back to stock so it doesn't show that I previously rooted it.
Have u tried "Fake system status"(to official) in Xposed. Not sure if that will help or not. I don't have the brains that these other guys have lol

I just updated mine while being rooted. I had to uninstall updates then then update. Try that and see if it helps. Had to reboot as well. When I just tried the typical update like normal it kept locking up my phone, that's when I rebooted uninstalled then started over like when u first pair your gear. Everything works and I'm on the new version and rooted gear as well. Last time I did the update I had to reset my gear and lost root but this time it didn't.

My device is rooted and has unlocked bootloader and is running Cyanogenmod 11.0. I'm trying to flash stock At&t rom: MB886_att-user-4.1.1-9.8.0Q-97_MB886_FFW-20-27-release-keys-ATT-US_BuildA.xml . How can I do so? Because I connect my device and rsd lite detects it but doesn't read it's info or nothing and you click start and says failed... What should I do?

You have to do the step called read and stop being lazy and asking us to do the work you can do all on your own.
EDIT
In addition to the above, I ammend this post to refer you to this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2350721 , and inform you that right now, by not making any attempt to do things yourself and begging for us to fix things for you, you are being exactly like the character in the video at the bottom of post #1 from the enclosed link.

I did help you out, I gave you the link to that xml thread. It still didn't work for you, so you were told to use Mythtools. Mythtools is in the development section, not that hard to find, which is why devilsking told you to go search for it. the instructions are very clear in the Mythtools thread, so when you ask "what steps i have to do with the tool?", it's very clear that you did not read properly. so thats why i referred you to the noob thread.
If I can flash back to stock by reading the directions, so can you.
WARNING: BESURE YOU ARE UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER BEFORE FLASHING/DOWNGRADING FIRMWARE!
Some users dont notice our warning before flashing and they stuck/fail at bootscreen.
Note:
- For the option of installing CWM: plz rename the /system/etc/install-recovery.sh to install-recovery.sh.bak before installing. Sr all users who got trouble with this. I forgot this step =.= Will add in next version.
-----------------------------------------------------------
This tool is created by The Myth Team for Motorola Atrix HD
All comments to help improving tools are always welcome!
-----------------------------------------------------------
MAIN PARTS:
1. Installer ADB/FASTBOOT/APKTOOL for AHD
2. Flashing Tools for stock firmwares (compatible with ICS/JB of AT&T, BELL and Mexico AHD;
include options for installing CWM recovery, no needs to care about editing xml any more, just put firmware into our tools and it will do for you)
3. Flashing Recovery
4. Rooting Tools (Motochopper - By Dan Rosenberg; it's combined here to bring the convinience for users after
installing stock firmwares)
5. Unlocking Bootloader Tools (Motopocalypse - By Dan Rosenberg; it's combined here with the same target as
rooting tools but it's necesary for users who want to flash other carrier's firmwares on their AHD)
6. Dowload Motorola USB Driver (Lastest driver)
EXTRA PARTS:
3 Quick reboot Options
------------------------------------------------------------
HOW TO USE:
1. For the installer, just select option and it will open a new window, select Install button and it will install adb/fastboot/apktool to your windows. If your windows dont allow to install (due to UAC control), u can select installer in /tools folder and run it under administration mode. With this installer, u dont need sdk-platform anymore to use adb or fastboot. Just need to have JDK and it will run normally.
*Noobed down instructions - select option 1, and place files in any directory you intend to use.*
2. To flash stock firmware, you only have to download stock firmware (*.zip file) and put it in 'firmware' folder then run our tools. Follow its instructions and options to finish the flash process. Dont need to edit xml files and No more worries about failure with RSDLite. We have tested all firmwares of AHD (ICS 4.0.4, JB 4.1.1, 4.1.2 of Bell, AT&T, Mexico Retail) with our tools and they worked.
*Place stock files in firmware folder*
3. Option allows users to install cwm recovery or custom recovery (it's up to users). To flash custom recovery, you can place recovery image (*.img) to 'recovery folder and run the tools.
*Place custom recovery img in recovery folder*
4,5. This is popular and famous tools by Dan Rosenberg. I think I dont need to explain again
*Self explanitory*
6. This is link for Driver on Motorola site. Just in case you miss it or need to install again.
*Also self explanitory*
This tool does display directions on the screen as you go through the process, so its really dummy proof
