It's time to mod our Z5!!
This is a systemUI modded to customize the status bar header with an image.
Instructions:
- first, do a backup via recovery
- download the attached systemUI_Header_Image_FWxxx.apk according to your firmware (latest .185),
- if you want to change the default image (see screenshot), crop your own image and resize it to 2000x500, save it as custom_header.jpg and move it in the apk in res\drawable-xxhdpi-v4 (e.g. with winrar or winzip)
- copy the apk on your device in system\priv-app
- rename it SystemUI.apk and apply the permissions rw-r--r--
- move it to system\priv-app\SystemUI
- reboot and enjoy
Update (26/04) for FW .185 : fixed the incompletely deodexed systemUI.apk, you can now delete the oat folder safely, this update is required
Note: the default image is perfect with my theme NR1260 Interstellar

This is not Z2 or Z3 thread bro. You can't expect more thanks here. Atleast for now. Because maximum of users are unrooted here. Thats why i did not came here with my "simple" mods..

Yes, only few users are rooted because it requires UB...
I hope it can be rooted with LB, but it seems a very hard task to do for now. Maybe there will be exploits to be found with the upcoming MM update...

I'm sorry to hear that but I'm sure you'll have it back soon. Sony took my Z in for repair the year before last and they were very efficient.
Besides..the T was the James Bond phone!

Also you can swipe mobile data on away?!? Able to do before?!?!
Edit: I'm using Litoni's modded home, togori button with dock, might be a difference, don't know, thought I should mention it.

I was getting bored of the stock Sony boot animation on my XZ and decided it was time for a change!
So I took the boot animation from the Galaxy S4 Google Edition and replaced the Google logo with the Xperia logo using Photoshop
Hope you like it!
It should work on any firmware on the Z, ZL and ZU.
Installation using CWM/TWRP (ROOT IS REQUIRED!):
Download and flash the XperiaGoogleBootAnimation.zip file from the bottom of this post, simples.
Or if you don't have a custom recovery (AGAIN ROOT IS REQUIRED!):
Download bootanimation.zip from the bottom of this post
Copy it to your SD card (internal or external)
Using Root Explorer or ES File Explorer, move the downloaded bootanimation.zip to /system/media and overwrite when prompted.
Make sure the permissions are set to rw- r-- r--
Reboot and enjoy!
To revert to the stock boot animation:
Flash the StockXperiaBootAnimation.zip file from the bottom of this post using CWM or TWRP.
Please ask me first if you want to use it in your ROM.

It should work on any version, just push it to system/media + give permissions or flash thru cwm (the package, not pure bootanimation)

It would probably look a bit strange as the resolution is set to 1080x230 (designed for 1080p devices).
I'll see about resizing it to the Xperia U resolution, it might take a little while.

Yes. It will. But pls note. This mod is based on 4.3 stock phonebook. U will lose Z2 phonebook and Dailer if u flash this on eXistenZ 6.6..

De Compile Semcphone.apk and go to res/values/bools.xml
Find Call Ended Screen line and disable it..
Save and Re compile, sign then use it

I'm waiting root on LB just to finally deodex firmware, root it and start building themes and mods for Z1.
All my themes are working on Z2 as well but I can't use it...what an irony

Do you have a stable mod of settings.apk? There are working mods but fc when tapped on other menus of the settings like power management...

I mod Settings.apk from Xperia Z2, not Xperia Z3's Settings.apk, No FC when you click Power management :laugh:

in .zip file ,it's only 22mb, U can dow and extract:victory:

No more force close, the only issue is xreality and super vivid doesnt work on movies app (z2 or z3 movies app)
Workaround, use stock be_movie_spc and move it to system/etc change permissions and reboot.
Works flawless
