AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

Don't disable Heads-Up. You wont be able to answer phone calls otherwise.
You tell...
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Lollipop. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.
If you want to contribute to the AICP or wanna see what is being worked on/merge feel free to visit our gerrit, link is at the bottom!!!

Very cool, downloading now. I won't be able to check it out for a couple of days but I'll report back once I've had the chance. Thanks for keeping this device alive!
I've installed RR rom but decided to try this new rom. RR rom is very stable, but too heavy, the apps requires eons to open, like the lag in KK rom. This rom is too stable, but more smooth, it's a breeze. Nice work!! Thanks!!
This is a LOT smoother than the RR ROM. Glad to see there's still progress being made with porting 6.0 over to the kindles.
As I said before, excellent rom. But no all is hapiness, I'm experiencing a huge battery drain. I've reinstalled a nandroid backup of kitkat rom, so far no battery problems. I always make clean installs, wipe everything.
Thank you so much for this rom.
All is quite good and smooth.
just I found some bugs:
gapps camera is not working at all, it breaks while load
google camera is working, but if you try to open configuration menu it breaks
it's not possible to install google play games, it returns error 505 when try to install from play store
light sensor for display brightness is not working well or not working at all
Cheers!

Similar issue here. I grabbed some data from BetterBatteryStats to try to see what the problem is, and I guess it's related to doze/deep sleep. I can PM a logcat, dmesg, and a text dumpfile on request.
build 20160220 (backup before flash, gapps need for upgrade, don`t flash SuperSU): http://www.mediafire.com/download/6nbwcfeccd77muf/aicp_jem_mm-11.0-UNOFFICIAL-20160220.zip
deep sleep fixed
Thank you , now seems it goes to deep sleep.
Any clues to solve at least error 505 when try to install google play games from store ?
Thank you

I worked around it by flashing an opengapps stock package. I'll share the config file that modifies the installation process sometime within the next couple days, as installation of the stock package usually fails without it.

That's odd - it's working for me. Are the 0, 90, and 270 degree rotation modes enabled in Settings -> Display and Lights -> Rotation?

They were, but I've got another problems right now (soft brick xD)
May it be that this Rom has another bootloader booting image? (Instead of the blue-white amazon one)

Yeah, I replaced the blue & white Kindle Fire logo with an Android Marshmallow logo (it's present in all of the Marshmallow ROMs for this device because I pushed the logo to the device's GitHub repos). Try going into fastboot mode, typing fastboot -i 0x1949 oem recovery to reboot into TWRP, and then reflashing the ROM.

Oh, thanks for the answer, but I think that it's not that easy.. I described my problem here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3322789
Or is it?

Also downloading. Thanks for the port!
Just what I was waiting for. Just yesterday I started trying different kit kat roms but none of them convinced me.
I have a few issues so far:
- I enabled root access but Titanium Bakcup complains that it can't get root access.
- It seems apps now take too much space. I installed 10% of the apps I normally used and they used half the internal memory space. Is this because of ART, which I enabled, or a "feature" of Kit Kat? Do you recommend using ART or stay with Dalvik?
- GPS doesn't work for Slim in 4.3 and 4.4. I didn't try 4.2. To make it work I flashed yagf2 and the expheria files.
Thanks for the awesome rom!
Thanks for you response.
I will include AngryGPS in next build to fix GPS.
Hmm, internal storage is little weird, but i think it is normal, only problem with storage started with installing XDA App.
Enable root acess in developer setting, tick: enable root acess for Apps and ADB.
ART isnt still good working, dont report BUGS, if ART is enabled. Use Dalvik
Thank for you review, hope that you will not change ROM, and keep using SlimKAT
Greetings

Hi all,
Titanium worked again after leaving my phone alone for an hour or so. I also went back to dalvik following your recommendation.
I have one problem so far: I can't install the xda app. I get an error saying it can't install on internal memory or sdcard. I have no idea why this happens. I haven't had that problem with any other app I have installed: chrome, netflix, gps test, and around 20 more.
The great thing about Slim: 100+ MB free in RAM compared to the 40 I was getting with Avatar. Awesome job guys!

You can do dirty flash, so you dont need to full wipe, but some bugs can happend.
For titanium, i already do that, and no problems.
you can try both.

Gallery2.apk not included in /syste/app Camera must be installed either from another ROM or third party. I installed Nokia Camera and works fine (see the latest image of screenshot), except gallery error after rebooted the system.
Brief review
1. Installed ROM as instructed in OP, rebooted the system and system works as it should be. Since user apps have not yet been installed, system running fast and smooth as usual.
2. Tweaked build.prop: dalvik2cache script (dalvik.vm.dexopt-data-only=0), in order to move [email protected]*.dex files from /data/dalvik-cache to /cache/dalvik-cache and enable soft keys in navigation bar (qemu.hw.mainkeys=0). Rebooted the system and it works just fine. However, dexes still occupy /data/dalvik-cache. Need to be removed manually and gained plenty of free space (ca. 180 MB) in internal memory (/data) afterward.
3. Link2SD works, no headache, since it's fresh installed . However, restoring apps using TB, even a single app took minutes or failed. Will explore further.
4. No need to flash GappsLight. Google services files are already included in /system/app-priv. Simply installed the latest gmscore.apk, login into G server and all G services (incl. Playstore) works as it should be.
5. Will try PA features and report it later. At least floating window works like a charm. Hover? looking how to enable it.
Thanks to our great dev @rhar**** for bringing PA 4.4.3 to our obsolete device :good:
EDIT:
And of course, many thanks also to Olivier. :good:

Thanks for using my sources but not mentioning me anywhere at all. As you certainly know, I have forked and patched some of the PA repos to make AOSPA run better on our ARMv6 devices and this took me some time.
Why I know that you used my work? You starred one of my repos some days ago and the build number in the Screenshot is hardcoded to "KTU84M" (should actually be "pa_p500..." and so on.
Think about it.

Weird!. It works for me . When you click the download file (zip), yes the browser will open a new window of advertisement or something likes that. Simply kill it and main window is downloading the zip file.
I'm not able to install Gapps, I flash them but after a reboot they aren't in! Tried with GAPPSlight and Banks, also tried to flash them with a different recovery (TWRP 2.7.1.0).

I don't know about Google+ but spirit has issues because of drivers.
For that, Omni's kernel is great. The only issue it has is offline charging. So, I'm thinking of making a kernel compatible with both cm and aosp (the source)

Amazing rom! There isn't any noticeable bugs that I can see, multitask is a beast, and battery life so far lasts about the whole day using about 2% battery per hour. I used your pink kernel with intelliplug on. The only thing that seems to not work is changing the governor. It always switches back to interactive. Other than that, very impressive for an alpha build! THANK YOU!

No. But if you're coming from CM a data wipe is needed likely which is why you're probably in a bootloop. CM 11 --> CM12 should be fine with data. CM11 --> other lollipop based roms = most likely a bootloop.

Great work for a alpha version.
The first boot will take quite awhile so just be patient. Also, it seems I can't set my own ringtones and notification sounds.

Im coming from the original ROM, with root and some mods from Xposed... Did a wipe factory (TWRP), installed ROM and then Gapps, First time took more than 10 minutes to boot and nothing.
Now I did wipe cache, data, dalvik and system, then reinstalled everything... Again it is taking more than 10 minutes to boot.... I will wait more 10... lets see, hope it boots!!!
update: 22 minutes waiting, I guess it will not boot... any ideas?
Thanks guys!

Try CWM recovery and see if it'll work.

I first flashed an unofficial build of cm12 (before the issue of builds needing to have cm 11 installed first) then let it boot, then after that go back to recovery and install SlimPL
Took 5-10mins to boot
Sent from my XT1045 using XDA Free mobile app
Thanks, its is "upgrading" right now, what I did was get a CM 11 (pacman Rom) installed it , rebooted and flash Slim ans Gapps...
Now I just got a process com.android.phone has stopped...
lets see... Thanks
Edit: Telephone not working... cannot make call or use data and clock not working as well. installed CM 11 and CM12 and them Slim and same problem happened... CM12 working fine
After installing cm12 unofficial, i just did the normal wiping process dalvik data dalvik cache system & factory reset, then it booted

When I do this my phone just stay on the Slim boot screen...
For now I will try CM12 and when I get some more time I will try to use Slim again, need my phone working to work
Thanks guys! if someone come with some solution I will be glad to try...:good:
I flashed this kernel & it stopped mine sticking on the slim booting logo
Just flashed the Jan 11 build(with basketbuild 5.0 gapps), seems pretty solid.
Noticed a few things, though:
There's no outgoing/incoming indicator for network activity for Wifi and Data(the arrow up/down on their respective icons)
Total display seems zoomed out a bit? In a nice way
Carrier name on lockscreen is a little to the center, shouldn't it be on the left?
Camera's not working for me, even google camera(freezes upon capturing a photo, though can swipe from left to bring up a menu)
AudioFX isn't working for me, tried playing around but couldn't get it to work with Google Play Music, can't really tell if it's the player or AudioFX as there's no stock Music player to try on
Superuser out of the box is not working, though flashing SuperSU 2.40 worked.
Had a random reboot while playing video, probably nothing
Other than what was mentioned, really enjoying this rom and already planning on using it was my daily driver. Cheers!
Great ROM over all. Got a few issues:
1. When you try to import contacts from a backup on the phone it crashes the import (finding file via file manager then opening that way works fine)
2. When I use camera it will take pictures no problem but wont save them. Also when you press the back button when camera is open it won't close. Have press home for it to close. Does this on other camera apps and other lollipop builds so maybe a cm12 issue.
3. When enabling the dark theme in messages it doesn't do anything (cm12 issue would say)
I flashed cleanly per the instructions.
Would be nice to be able to change battery icon and have a clear all under open apps option but these are just extras can love without.
Thanks for your had work so far

Yeah Slim always changes the dpi. But compared to kitkat it is much more humane now.

They won't be adding it. I read this on Google+ page.
And you can easily download camera and a browser of your choice from play store, Or any other apps store of your choice..
I feel happy that the ROM comes as bare minimum as possible..

@pheonixita Thanks a lot for bringing the ROM back to V500. I was waiting for this to happen. Requested Dave and Martin on your G+ Page.. I hope people on the forum will realize how good this ROM is.
Anyone with GPS Not working? I tried all three options. Can't seem to get a fix. I'm in 22nd nightly..
Awesome ROM...I have just found my default daily ROM
Thanks Devs for this great release!
Very nice work. Thank you!
First, thanks for supporting V500!
Guys, this is a great ROM, feature rich, yet not overbloated, all good stuff! Also, it appears stable, has nice OTA update support, and best of all, everything I've tried works. Give it a chance!
One thing however I've noticed: Sometimes max CPU clock gets limited to 1566 Mhz, never to recover to stock value. Might this be some kind of bug, maybe triggered from thermal throttling? It always was after some extensive gaming, where the device got hot to touch. Just an idea...
Question: Which kernel is being used for V500? Had a look at Github, but which repo is it? kernel_lge_g3? kernel_google_msm?
Cheers and keep up the good work! :good:

No such issues on 17th Build.
Hi Team Exodus, I noticed that when I watch YouTube and in the background few applications are updating during the automatic installation process YouTube stops and it forced me to touch the screen (play) in order to continue with the video. Do you familiar with this phenomenon. I'll appreciate your help for receiving a solution.

Hi, l took your advice and flashed slim (zero type) gapps and it seems that the freezing issues during installation just have been solved. I'll continue to test it to be sure that it's not stops randomly a phenomenon which l also experienced with YouTube. I'll keep updating if something goes wrong.
Update!!!: after testing it for almost two hours, it stoped randomly without any reasonable cause, so one problem was solved it isn't stops during app's installation, but it sure stops randomly once in awhile .
Is there a way to disable the text shadow on the headings? I just tried this ROM and really dig it, but the text shadow is causing legibility issues on smaller headings and is persistent across all themes.
Edit: also just noticed screen rotation doesn't work, even after playing with it's settings. That's a bummer.
My Gpad is running under CM12.1 official and 777 kernel, and have the sdcard unmount problem. I wanted to use link2sd, but it's simply unusable with this problem. I have also tried CM 12.1 unofficial and also AOSP, several sdcard, but still no solution.
Is someone also confronted wit sdcard unmount with Exodus?

My second question is: please where can I find “Close all” for Recent Apps? Is there?
@ to dev: AICP is very stable, faster then CM 12.1 and thanks to you.
