http://www.91mobiles.com/blog/lenovo-vibe-k4-note-review.html
See attachment and go through the above link and you will see that Lenovo K4 Note has a VR Mode.
Is there any way to make this available on the Note 5. Why doesn't Samsung ever come up with something like this.
Would much appreciate it if we could have this for Samsung Note 5. Thanks
P.S: If some genius gets this done please let me in on the cash

What's the advantage ?..just curious
ścribbled from my Note 5

Looks cool.

As cool as it may look but what are the ADVANTAGES?

I'm thinking the main advantage is being able to use your favourite video software like mxplayer for viewing 2d video w/ac3 sound if you wish ( or any other non cardboard/oculus app/game). Other than that..I would imagine not much.

Can someone recommend a watch for me?

I have a Note 3. I am hoping I can get a watch that will let me browse the web (in the highest resolution possible) using my phone's Internet connection. And possibly record video and audio without being obvious (to record police brutality if I ever find myself in such a situation).
Does such a watch exist? Does the galaxy gear do this yet or is it still not possible to browse the web on it?
Both can be done with the GG with null ROM. Browsing and discrete camera with the addition if a couple of extra apps. The browsing experience is of course horrible, trying to read on such a small screen

Well that is very good to know, thanks!
Are there different models of the Galaxy Gear? I thought I saw that they had a new model or something. Should I look for any particular model?

i would suggest you waiting 4-8 weeks when Gear 2 will came out. Let's see how Tizen android and XDA fit together. I guess we will be able to flash Android on the Gear2 too. Cause of those XDA geniousses...Then watch thos in depth review videos on youtube...i don't really know what to expect from gear 2 and tizen...
But i would bet my ass that with the Note 4 a new Galaxy Gear will arrive...i really don'T know...but it could be smart to not buy gear 2 and buy the Galaxy gear cause it became cheap...i do not want to miss my gear...
oh and for that police violence videos i just opened a thread. say that you want this feature there. So devs will see people are interested not only me.

I don't think anything lets you browse the net. Smart watch screens are tiny ....

They're tiny, yes. But are they really that much smaller than the phones we were using to browse the web a few years ago?

I found this to be a very good overview of using the Note 4. You can probably skip the unboxing part at the start and get right into the usage part.

The ones that do the best reviews for a newcomer are the following Youtube people
Zedomax
Pocketnow
C4E
Ricky The Android Guy
Watch their review videos and get good a good basic idea but in the end nothing will beat good old experimenting. Welcome to the Note 4 - you have entered a new world. The Iphone and Note 4 couldn't be anymore different. It will take a while to get used to Android and all its new possibilities. You probably will get frustrated at some points but I encourage you to stick with it and find out what you can REALLY do with an Android driven Note 4. The possibilities are limitless. Remember the basic rule about Android - if you don't like something - just change it. My Note 4 doesn't even resemble a stock android anymore because I tweaked it so much but I spent countless hours tinkering around with it. When you have questions - just ask politely and you will find there are tons of people willing to lend a hand.
Good luck and as I said welcome to a new world.
Hi off the top of my head I would think everybody should enable the S pen reminder setting where if you set your pen down and walk away without it your phone would beep and vibrate reminding you the pen is not in/near the phone anymore
To enable
Settings >
Scroll down to the tab “Motions and Control/Control” >
Tap S Pen >
Tick S Pen Alerts
Its probably ticked by default but cant remember and its good to make sure its enabled cause I walk away a couple of times and forgot the pen haha

Vzw Note 4 requirements for the Gear VR?

I have been thinking about buying the Gear VR for my Note 4. I figure I'd ask what the requirements for it are before buying it? Do I need a certain base to use it? I am on the Vzw NI1 stock unrooted retail version. If there is anything else I should know before purchasing one, please let me know. Thank you.
Nobody on a Vzw Note 4 has Gear VR?
I know when the Note 4 first came out, it needed an update on Kit Kat at a minimum to get Gear Vr working. Does it currently need the latest Lollipop to be compatible with Gear or is that initial KK update enough?

afaik you dont need Lolipop to use the Gear VR but the Netflix app will not work
to be sure if your current rom version supports it you could try the following:

...needed to install QuickShortcutMaker from the Google Play Store (Thanks lawalty!)
From within the QuickShortcutMaker App, under Activities I selected VRSetupWizardStub, then pressed Try

Sweet, thanks man. I don't have a Netflix account so I hope KK is enough. I just got to decide if I want the Gear VR or not. Would you say it is worth it?

As you already have the compatible mobile, if you get one for 100$ (as it is sold now at this price) i would recommend it!
It is not finished enough to call it consumer ready for the mainstream but its definitely one of the best VR experiences up to date. :cyclops:

The 'not finished enough' part is stopping me from buying it right now. I know it has some flaws, but wouldn't some company, maybe not samsung, fix those issues in the future? I'm just afraid I'll drop $100 for the Gear VR then a way better vr headset comes out later from someone else.
It works just fine on my Verizon phone. However ... I'm not at all happy with the image quality overall. See separate thread. I think I'm going to sell it and just wait for the Rift.

Please don't expect too much improvement in image quality when switching to the Rift. The Rift will have a lower (or nearly equal) resolution as the current Gear VR. The lenses will be better but this will not improve the pixel size or density. What the Rift will improve are the overall possible graphic richness as it is run on a pc with a GPU that outperforms any mobile system.
You will have to wait for next generation HMDs to get a better image quality.
If this was more polished, I probably would've bought it without hesitation. Feels like I should wait for an 8k display phone or something before fully going into VR. Also, I'm not too sure if I'll stay with my Note 4 now. Playing with the Note 5 now and I feel tempted to switch. Thanks for your help guys.

vr options

Hey guys i dont personally own the VR as its my gfs device. She doesnt root her device so doesnt know much about xda but wanted me to ask you guys the following questions. Thanks kn advance!
1. Is there any devolopment for the VR in general?
2. Is the controller for it useful.if so Whats it good for?
3. Is there any motion sensor thingys like on htc vibe
4. Is there anyway to make it not as blurry? She has s7 edge and i have a note 5. ( we know about the focus slider ontop)
5. Is there music visulation apps? I found grooVR...but not sure if thats the only thing/how to use it while laying down.
Thanks guys
1:yes
2:yes and there are a few options other than samsungs
3:not yet but being worked on 3rd party
4:sometimes blurriness comes from either fog on lenses and/or oil on phone screen or lenses if you ever touched them. Be mindful these are optics and just like telescopes and microscopes you can potentially get sleeks from cleaning them improperly.
5:dont know, i dont use music apps in vr

The controller is mostly useful for games. There are some games that require one. You can find inexpensive controllers on Amazon that work well.

Samsung Notes missing feature! No Zoom in functionality...

Why is there no zoom functionality available in Samsung Notes anymore? Anybody else notice it? It was very helpful for me to add images of writings & notes in S-note and zoom in to get a better view of the written content. I can no longer do that
No Zoom in functionality available in Samsung Notes.
There is a magnify function with the s-pen, you can select a part of the screen to magnify/zoom

Thanks, I did not think of that.
I wish they won't remove the zoom feature though. It was amazing to zoom in on text and now with higher resolution it would have been a pleasant surprise. Kinda bummed out.

i do not know if this helps, but you could download the latest s note and use it like normal. The action memo also works great too
Having the same issue with the Samsung Notes app - looks like they rolled out a new version of the app that isn't in the Play Store for the Note 8. Note 8 is version 2.0.00.83, and the one in the Play Store is 1.5.00-56 - pinch zoom works fine on the older version which I haveon my Tab A w/ S-pen.
Magnify tool works well for reading notes, but I'm used to zooming in before writing so I can fit more on one page.

I have the exact same issue. I am all about updates as long as features aren't reduced. Sadly, that's the case with Samsung Notes. You can no longer zoom in to fit more in one page.
Also they removed the Multi clip feature in Note 4 where you could have as many as 10 screen clippings in one sitting and then add them to where ever you wanted. That feature was removed in Note 5. No wonder people call most of Samsung features gimmicks since they don't have the nuts to be confident in their own intuitive features whereas Apple stands by their ****ty features arrogantly even if they're completely useless. I've had all the notes so far and am now on Note 8 and am wondering why Samsung does this ****.

I gave that ago but S-note freezes on Note 8. They probably deemed it useless. What a pleasant surprise from Samsung.
