I was flashing a couple of ROMS yesterday while unbricking my MateS. The C00B144 Chinese ROM as the scales app and it works well on my 64GB Mate S. I can access the scales setting pages using a short cut creator but the app itself is missing from my C470*** ROM version.
Does anyone have the ability to extract the APK and send me a link to download it please? I am sure other would appreciate it and it will prove once and for all that all Mate S Phones have the ability to use them.
Much appreciated to whoever can get this app extracted for me.
That APP is mostly useless
Thats the one. Many thanks. I know it has little use but people just dont believe a phone can weigh things.
Big thanks for sharing.
It works but it is very inaccurate!
I place an apple and it showed 360grams. I used kitchen scale (the one for making food) and it showed 220grams
Anyway, it is fun to see it in action

use ext4_unpacker
You can use "HuaweiFirmwareExtractor.exe" for extracting Huawei Update.app , when you have extract it you can use 7zip or other Tools.
When it don't work write me a pm and I look what I use for that on my pc.
What do you want make?
I must look , you can do a system Backup from system only via adb but here I must look what you must do in Terminal.

There has been a lot of discussion on what works on ClockWorkMod v3 and what doesn't. One of the biggest problems (besides ROM installations) is how to apply existing ZIP files that don't work in CWM3 because they are outdated.
So, if you have upgraded to CWM v3 and want to use some old zips there is an answer
nubecoder in the Android Development and Hacking > Android Software Development forum came up with an excellent tool for converting the old update-script to the new updater-scrip and binary needed for CWM3
Give it a look:

Extract the zip to a folder. Run it. Select open then the zip or script you want to convert. then save it.
Great find Nils. I guess I need to convert mine.
EDIT: It converted them all perfectly, once I realized I needed to choose "Incredible" from the device menu. LOL
If you want an alternative to using the script converter I attached 2 zip files. One is for updates to the /system/app/ folder and the other is /system/framework/ folder
All you need to do is use 7zip to copy (drag and drop) your files to the appropriate sub folder in the zip file.
You can then name the zip file to whatever you like.
Sorry to muck up the thread with this question but since it's on topic... how do i flash back to the old version of CWM? since rom manager just comes up with an error...
nevermind I got one of the older 2.5 to work
This app was updated just this morning with the option to convert scripts for the incredible. I've tried it on a few zips and it works perfect

Today I updated my Android SDK and also downloaded the Android 4.0 platform. Inside the SDK in the platform folder (maybe, I don't remember), I found the system.img of Android ICS. That is what the emulator uses to run Android on it.
My question is, is it possible to decompile/open that file in order to get some stuff out of it such as the launcher, apps, wallpapers etc?
Or am I being a noob right now?
BTW, bad news ICS needs ArmV7
could be
there is a possibility of managing that. if you have the right tools and a system optimized for exploring certain programs then yeah.
you can try it just be careful
P.S nice question it took some thinking to figure this one out lol
I can upload system dump from this file if you want.
Yeah but I don't know how to do that.

When I was a little younger(year ago) I made Xperia ROM Manager LOL . Just search my post and you will find it. It can extract img files and do other things too, but you must be on windows.
Sorry, your ROM Manager failed to extract the files...Anyway...
Any dev willing to help?
You can extract yaffs imgs with unyaffs for windows or directly on your phone with the command "unyaffs (filename)".
Flash also needed armV7, didn't it?

Here the first firmware of the lg p880, in my file there are the .kdz and the .dz with its .dll that I extracted from the .kdz. Only problem, I do not manage to extract the .dz, if somebody could advance the thing.
A thanks takes 2s and I hope that one will be able to use that for our optimus 2x.

Fly in FLIX.....we are waiting mate
Hey,
welcome back, spica. Now you can see I can make my own kernels.
I already tried to extract this firmware (it's on the server for a week now), but I don't get managed to extract it... It's not like in our O2X.
After extracting .kdz, you get a .dz file. I tried dz extractors I found, but I can't extract the dz file.
Maybe there's someone having more knowledge about these things?

I'd appreciate a feedback from you for my latest v1.2 Kernel. It's with my flix toolchain. The link is in my signature.
B2T: I don't know very much about blocks, converting, extracting etc. Extracting O2X firmwares is easy, just .img files.
I hope for a big community for the O4X because of this.
It may sound really stupid and I don't know **** about this subject but just want to think with you guys and maybe help a little. Maybe you can rename the .dz file to .img and then do the normal thing. Don't know if it works and you probably tried it already so...
I don't think renaming can convert a .dz to .img.
YEEAA ! spica's back gone for a few days only but seemed like a month xD.
and now its time for a silly question, what is the use of a optimus 4x hd firmware to us ? (besides some wallpapers ringtones and apps i guess)
edit: flix you can still try it, since it may be exatcly like that, maybe its the same container only renamed to .dz cant hurt to try after renaming the program might be able to access it
I tried to mount the file, it doesn't work.
But here's the system dump of the Optimus L7 (not by me, I was too late ):
http://jumbofiles.com/j6bnobsck4se
It should do the same good things to us. I already extracted the ringtones, wallpapers and icons of it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1635301
It is not terrible if one does not manage to extract the .dz.
An extraction would make it possible to see optimizations of the o4x and thus to use that in the o2x.
Only the total interface of the o4x for Rom stock o2x.
I wasn't able to extract anything either. The usual tools just won't work and even some strange Korean exe files from Google didn't help.
@flix: I hear you're called extraction superman... do you have any idea how to extract a p990 Baseband from a kdz file into a SINGLE fls file? I can extract them into 4 fls files, Paul OB had a way of getting a single fls file but I couldn't find any method for that :-(

I tried that, too. Obviously, it works with the "copy \b" command like the .img files but I didn't try such a copied baseband yet. But you could try it at your own risk.
The new LG PC SUITE for LGP880 thus I also think compatible for O2X also :

The .dll for flash the P880 :

For finish, the name of firmware .bin : LGP880AT-000-V10a-TMO-XXX-MAY-18-2012+0.zip
Please help to recover .

For ALP-L29C636
https://www.dropbox.com/s/fh9cpipxjp2k6ud/L29C636_data.tgz?dl=0
Move file to phone, use file explorer to move file to /data or use mv command below

Try this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74692542&postcount=8 (only themes)
Or the one I posted above
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75146353&postcount=7 (full hw/public data, not tested but should work.)
this is my solution ( made by me ) after trying many solutions over this forum @ other forums
just
1- delete any folder for themes u made (as hw_init or themes in root folder or at any site )
2- make folder & name it ( HWTHemes ) in internal memory
3- download this folder & put it inside (HWTHemes )
4- go to themes app and chose ** Aqua theme ** & apply it
5- no need to change any permissions
this was try on huawei y 7 2017
Hey, i have the problem that i relocked bootloader and uninstalled all root related things since i didnt use it anymore. Is there a way to make the Themes working again?

Easier way:
Flash ALP test twrp from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/development/huawei-mate-10-pro-twrp-3-2-1-0-t3769904 (fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp_alp_test_0.1.img)
Download Public and HW zip from hwmt (http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/)
Search for your full firmware including build (ALP-L29C185Bxxx)
In the FullOTA row click on the "file list" link, copy and paste link for update_data_full_public.zip and HW data for L29 into a new browser tab so it downloads.
Boot to TWRP and flash public zip first then HW data zip.
They will throw some errors but flash fine.

I want to extract it so I can get apks such as the launcher or camera app. I have managed to extract UPDATE.APP and I saw inside a file called SUPER. img which I suppose is equivalent to the usual system.img however I can't extract it. I tried different tools but I failed.
Does anyone know how to unpack that SUPER.img file?

Hi m8, even if you manage to unzip the SUPER.img file (you can try with 7zip, maybe it will work, don't bet on it) you can't install those apk's on EMUI 9.1, because they are different.
On EMUI 10 you can push those apk's (and camera libs folders) only if you're rooted and have bootloader unlocked.
Later edit: or you can rename it to system.img and try using this tool. Ignore, the tool is not available anymore

I still have hopes as based on my experience not always the system app are only restricted to the new Android SDK. So maybe those two apks will be compatible with android P SDK or can easily be modes to make them compatible
However I didn't find a way to unpack SUPER.img despite trying different methods..
