Just unlocked bootloader and rooted. Problems with Resurrection Remix rom - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo Q&A, Help & Troublesh

Hey guys. I rooted and installed resurrection remix. Have a few problems, any suggestions?
1) Google maps gps doesn't work. Do I need to flash a new radio?
2) I hear buzzing during any videos that I recorded with the camera.
I'm on the latest ROM.
Anyone have any tips?

Are you using the stock camera app?

The GPS issue is common with cm based ROMs. It is annoying but here is how to fix it:
Install stock ROM (your backup of you have it)
Start gps on stock ROM and get a gps lock.
Immediately boot into twrp and install cm based ROM.

Hey there!
So a couple days ago I noticed Google Maps just not working at all on my phone. When I enter an address as a destination, it will show me the path I'm supposed to take, but then the blue arrow that shoes my location just doesn't move, regardless of whether or not I am moving.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling updates, tried different GPS services (Waze also didn't work), I've tried messing with the Location settings
Can anyone help?

Try two things:
1) Download TopNTP from the Play store. Use default installation instructions. Reboot. Tell me if you get a GPS lock.
TopNTP

I use GPS every day with CM 12.1, with Waze. But I use that TopNTP GPS helper...
2) Re-flash stock radio image via fastboot.
_______
If neither of those help, and you are on a custom ROM, then
3) you may have to temporarily re-install stock ROM, get a GPS lock -- then re-install your custom ROM.
If you are on stock ROM already, then my only suggestions are #1 and #2.

I have the same issue, I hear the buzzing on the recorded videos (I used stock camera app and OenCamera from the play store) this is noticable on both.
Anyone else has seen this?

Thank for all the help. I flashed the latest radio and the Google maps issue was fixed!
Another question, how do I enable advance/ HD calling so I can use data while on a phone call. I can't find the setting anywhere. I had it enabled when I was stock before I rooted.
Thanks again.

I'm suffering the same issue in video's sound.
Anyone knows how to fix it?

You would have to ask the Quark CM dev @Skrilax_CZ. Issue was noticed on CM12.1, while he was prepping CM13... RR is based on CM, and @baybutcher27 is the dev for that ROM.

btw. I somehow missed that in cm-12.1, when recording video, there is a distortion in the sound. Same goes for cm-13.0.
Otherwise, looks like with that all basic features are working

Yes that fix bluetooth, thanks for share, the ROM is now complete for the a version.
That distortion I have notes and did not care, I thought it was normal back ground noise, but recording on complete silence the distortion is there. quark have more then one mic, maybe one of they responsible for canceling back ground noise is not doing it job or is causing the problem, don't know just guessing.
If I find some improves on that or any M thing I let you know...
Will release a test V, in expectation of received bug reports from new features that users don't know how to use :silly:

updated RootBox and CM10.1 sources
RootBox does not use Xposed framework to handle DPI settings anymore, everything is done through Paranoid Preferences. This means that it is a fully functional AOSPA 3.15 / AOKP rom. It has the exact same set of features as both of them combined + much more!

Enjoy!
Hello everyone!
Here's my nightly build of RootBox for the I9300. I am not the creator of this ROM, I just built it from sources because the official release hasn't been updated in a while.
1. Flash Rom
2. Flash Gapps
3. Factory Reset if coming from another rom.
4. Reboot.
Enjoy!

Yeap it works. Even though I don't know if I will be using this since I prefer something like AOKP since it is less RAM hungry.
I've been "playing" with AOSP/AOKP/etc roms and AOKP seems to do the best in RAM.
For me the phone doesn't start, and I can't do calls, no data conection. Can you try to update and upload to other server please?

Awesome! worked as described. I will be running this for bit and will report any bugs. Thanks for prompt response.
edit: I've been running this heavily with bluetooth streaming and appears to be rock-solid. Only issues so far are some random force closes but a reboot seems to have cleared up most of the issues.
edit 2: I've had 1 soft reboot so far. I was streaming bluetooth, then made a call, then when call ended the phone soft rebooted. The phone loaded fine and was not stuck on logo.
edit 3: Small bug found. When root access is granted to a program, it takes me back to the setup section and NOT the last program that requested the root privilege. Also calendar and Google search have force closes. Ended up uninstalling calendar and reinstalling from backup. For Google search, just restored a backup which fixed the issue.

Are there any bugs I should know about? I want to run an AOSP/AOKP/CM-based ROM while on vacation this upcoming week. I don't want to deal with the stock ROM since it's so freaking slow and laggy.
One more question! Have you tested the battery life? If so, is it good, bad, the same?

There are not bugs that I have noticed and I have been running it for a couple of days... The battery is on par with all of the others... If you want even better battery search for code kernel on droidrzr. It is built for performance and battery life.
Never mind. I'm dumb. I figured it out.
Looks like a very nice ROM. Anyone know if dock line-level audio out (analog, over the USB port) works on this build?

Does Global function work?
I'm interested in flashing the ROM. I'm currently here in Taiwan on business and using GSM feature to run a local SIM card while I'm here. I am currently running Eclipse ROM 1.4 and it's pretty stable and the Global feature works. I don't want to flash if the feature is not available. If it is and no one tested, then I might give it a shot while I'm here. Thanks for porting another ROM :good:

Ok...so just flashed the ROM. The global function is working as the local sim card I'm using is recognized. I have a slight problem as I don't have any of the app menu icon on the screen. My rom loaded with a complete blank home screen, no widgits except for google bar. I can't seem to locate the feature to unhide the icons. Can you help with that? I currently can't add any widgets or even go to the app menu to long press them and add to my home screen. I've messed with the customization menu's but can't seem to find the setting. Also, I installed the Aug 11 build from the repository. I noticed there are 3 of them. I would assume the latest build was the one to load?

You are correct. I did a factory reset and everything came back up. Although it was glitchy with regards to app performance. I am using TWRP and only did the factory reset w/ advanced wipe. I found that doing a whole system format of the internal storage corrected the issues. Thanks.:victory:

BUGS/ISSUES
Possible signal dropping on AT&T (factory resetting and reflashing has seem to help)

Everything seems to be working flawlessly including Ambient Display, GPS, camera, all sensors, audio...
Notes:
The reason I have not updated to alpha-2 is the same reason as every compiler hasn't. There is a problem in the source code and there is nothing I or anyone can do about it now until it is fixed by the big guys, thanks for understanding.
I noticed with this and other roms such as CM the keyboard vibration duration is off at default
I found that 15ms is a comfortable duration.

Fantastic news! Than you very much! [emoji111]
Quick question since you said nothing from CM, did PA develop their own version of theme manager?
Lastly, you mention all sensors working, it seems only the to right one does out of the 4 motion sensors, I believe that's same as CM
Thank you.

Yes theme manager is taken directly from CM. I was talking about the device tree, it has nothing from CM in it. When I said sensors I mean all the sensonrs like proximity, gyro, temp, light, etc. Nobody has gotten the IR sensors to work outside of stock yet.

CM12.1 is here for the VS980, aka the Verizon LG G2.
This is a source build rom, which includes all the latest changes from cm. The nightlies are starting August 2nd.
Instructions
Official support is now limited to Kitkat and Lollipop basebands. CM-12.1 is based on a completely new kernel. This has enabled support for the latest basebands newer than jellybean.
While many people and devices are in various states we officially recommend flashing back to stock then fully updating your device before using cm-12.1.
If you are coming straight from cm-12.0 the rom will not boot.
Download cm-12.1, and gapps. Put them on your sdcard, reboot to recovery. Flash, and enjoy!
The latest will be available at:
http://get.cm/?device=vs980

Yes, more guidance here would be appreciated. I'm on JPCs 5.0.2 and 26A.
I construed that to mean you want to have your sensors all working on 39a. I clean wiped from Jackpot Calvin's rom and 39a...running well since this morning.

Ok so just coming from completely stock 39a shouldn't be a problem right (assuming sensors work and root/recovery are in place)?
Just be sure your GPS locks and auto rotate work, then backup and flash away.

Thanks. I assumed you flashed the 39A bootstack also? Bootstack first? Reboot, then wipe and flash 5.1 and Gapps?

I was already on 39a with Jackpot Clavin's CM so I just wiped and flashed.
Just installed this (came from JPC's CM 12.1), and everything seems great so far except for the camera, which crashes whenever you try to open the app. Tried both dirty and clean flashing.

having camera issues as well
Yep, just discovered my camera doesn't work...
Just noticed that the flashlight is gone as well... Maybe the two are related?

Are you also noticing the camera/rotation/flashlight issues?
[Update]
I just saw your post about the camera.
Are you having issues with Rotation/Flashlight?

No flashlight either...there doesn't appear to be any app installed either. I'm guessing the flashlight uses the camera drivers somehow so it would make sense that they are related.
I do have rotation though.
Great thanks. I'm trying to keep an eye on this. If the official is now up to par with the latest bootstack, I'll be switching back.
The 8/04 Nightly is up.
Anyone know if the camera is working?

No major issues right?
I'll flash it in an hour
Hey I'm on havoc right now
issues I'm facing
1.back gesture in gestured navigation doesn't work pill doesn't appear
2.I can't make calls but I can receive calls
I had this same issue on lineage os 17.1 but Didn't had this issue on lineage os 17(till September 21 build)
This is screenshot of my baseband version is it the issue?
Btw I'm in India using a jio sim which supports only calls through volte and it cannot switch to 3g as it has only 4g here

Only one. I think it belong device tree. I try to use dual sim on this rom but NOT STABILITY, TOO DIFFICULT TO SWITCH 4G, AND WHEN REBOOT SIM APPEAR AND DISAPPEAR. This problem is appear when i install lineage, pixel experience, and stock. But when i flash gsi, dual sim working normally, not bug, not thìn that make me complain. I hope maintainer, erfanoabdi, fengdoge.. can fix it.

Thank-you so much for providing this Havos-OS rom. I'm on Sprint XT1789-03, and it runs really really well, very stable and excellent battery life.

1. Have you found any serious/Small bugs?
2. Which Camera app are you using for taking Portrait.
3. Any wifi issues? Or Sim network issue?
4. Do you use telegram I am looking to forward to flash it.
1. Have you found any serious/Small bugs?
No real bugs...one very minor thing...
There's no navigation bar at the bottom (system navigation). It seems to be set to the finger print "one button nav". I changed the navigation between gestures, 2 button or 3 button and it doesn't seem to matter...it's all the one button nav. Which isn't a big deal since that's what I used before anyways. Maybe I'm missing a setting somewhere.
2. Which Camera app are you using for taking Portrait.
I've tested many GCAMS but ended up with these two:
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog1092/
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/f/changelog1089/
I can't remember which one I went with but stability has been great on this ROM. Also portrait mode actually works. Front cam, night mode, etc all work.
3. Any wifi issues? Or Sim network issue?
No Wifi Issues.
I'm on Sprint in the states. Everything is working including VoWifi.
I've tried a Mint Mobile sim (TMO MVNO) and everything works except wasn't able to get VoLTE. I wondering if I have to reset my network or factory reset? I didn't want to setup everything again so that'll have to be a test for another time.
4. Do you use telegram I am looking to forward to flash it.
Sorry don't use telegram.
