Sources? Are you sure this is for the T-Mobile US version? I've read that certain countries have started the rollout but nothing for any US carriers yet, including T-Mobile US.

Can you upgrade from 5.1.1 using the XtreStoLite ROM to 6.0 or will that break my device and lose root?
Check the international S6 thread below. South Korea and Poland are the only countries with the update so far. Someone mentioned Italy this week, but I don't know if that's true.

Try this ..... stop whining and download and install MK7 yourself.
FYI, not only the States but Canada did not get the upgrade but I stopped feeling sorry about myself and installed the firmware anyway.

I have flashed the UK and it works great. Why wait? It is an official release, just for the UK. I think US get last on a lot because of all he laws/regulations and the number of users. Release it to the lower number to filter out the bugs. If all is well release to the rest.
Then donĀ“t buy Samsung. Over here in Mexico we dont get any more support than in USA and Canada and we are not whining about it.

One issue with the UK is that you still have to put on the hacked email app to be able to get Microsoft exchange notifications. I am hoping that they fix the manager and gear update to take care of this problem. Also I have notifications working now but they get stacked on top of each other in Exchange, when several come in close together.
That's my issue too. I don't want to use a broken exchange solution just to get the mail that should be working . I am NOT a big complainer but this too has really pushed my button expect more from Samsung on this particular for us early adopters

This is not a "problem/bug" its a security layer implemented by Samsung..
Exchange mail requires a pass lock to be active on Samsung's official app. You may use exchange mail as a every day feature, although people use it mainly for business purposes.
Reason why they force you to view it on your device, your device should be secured with keyguard so your identity can be verified before displaying the email.
Well if that was the case why did the first version work?

Same reason why minimal notifications were available upon release, Samsung was rushing the release.

Not Whining...
Is just the principal..
You never leave US out...
We the largest consumers in Electronics..
What pisses me of is some of these countries with the update probably have 10 people that own the device.
Lol there's a hostile mob in this thread.
There's nothing wrong with pointing out that the US was left behind with these updates. Yes, I could break out Odin and manually update the Gear myself (and I did exactly that). However, it's ridiculous that the update is taking this long for US customers. I mean, is there a reason why this should be the case? It's going to be the exact same update that everyone else received.
I just don't get it. And frankly I don't understand why you guys are being so passive about it. If the firmware had not been made available by samsungupdates, then everyone would still be **** out of luck.
Running UK version myself but what the heck. Every time someone posts a thread about the US update all the stupid people come out and tell us to install the UK version. My gear IS NOT working flawlessly unless I happen to have a phone from the UK too. As many have pointed out, exchange does NOT work and its not that way because of security trying to protect us. Or is it just people in the US that needs this so called security feature.
Exchange in Europe works with UK ROM, exchange in US plus UK ROM/firmware =FAIL.
If you don't need exchange...good for you, but don't say UK firmware works flawlessly for US customers. It just works flawlessly for the features you happen to use.

Sad but true. The Note 2 I recently sold was still stuck on Jelly Bean and Note 2 owners were promised KitKat from T-Mobile, never received the update. And now there is no news of Lollipop for the T-Mobile Note 2.
I had the AT&T Note 4, but returned it, mainly due to the fact that it was not developer-support. Because I'm on the JUMP! Program, I'll most likely end up changing my device every 6-8 months or so, therefore the update schedule doesn't and shouldn't hurt me anymore.

Thanks for the reply man. It's messed up the American companies do this. The international versions of the phone that we stopped receiving updates for here in the u.s are still receiving updates internationally. Even though I switched from AT&T cause I'm tired of locked bootloaders. I think if you own a device you should have the freedom to do with it as you please. ?

Take that statement to the Supreme Court. FCC needs to look over this, in addition to Net Neutrality, haha.

you just wont get carrier provided updates after awhile, but you are free to do anything you want to your phone, you just have to deal with the consequences if you break/ruin/brick it..

Hey guys,
Is it possible to flash a international firmware onto an AT&T phone? If so, what's the best firmware to use? The BTU one?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
The bootloader hasn't been unlocked yet and there's no root...my guess...no...unless you want to brick it.
You can't flash anything until the bootloader is unlocked. If it even gets unlocked

If you like custom ROM's I'd go back to M8 or get an M9 dev edition. Going off the past Galaxy models on AT&T you are likely to never get the bootloader unlocked. Unless Samsung does something similar to what HTC did but I doubt it.
I really liked the M8 but the camera was one of the worst cameras I've had on a phone. The camera on the S6 edge is awesome and I'm happy with the phone. I may end up returning the AT&T version and getting a T-mobile or international version instead.

A word of caution, the International versions won't support carrier aggregation or VoLTE or HD Voice...Unless you have a specific need for root, you can disable 98% of the AT&T bloat. I ended up returning my International model because of these reasons and due to the fact that the signal was noticeably worse with the international version.

Thanks for your input! I'm really not sure what to do. I love this phone and I want to keep it. I have disabled almost all the AT&T bloat now and it's working OK. There's some interesting stuff happening here at XDA and maybe we'll be able to unlock the bootloader on the AT&T devices like the Chinese version, so I'm at a dilemma right now. I have until May 12 to return my device so I will decide by then. Although, after what you said, I may not want to get an international version after all, especially if the signal is not as good as the AT&T version...
So...
Did you flash the international firmware to your AT&T edge? If so how'd it turn out? Do you miss those features mentioned?
Thanks in advance.
No. I don't believe it's possible to do so until the bootloader is unlocked. I'm still using the AT&T version and haven't decided to trade it for the international version yet.

I was about to purchase the International version but there are tons of posts
on not all of the ATT LTE bands being supported. The ATT version even has the
2 brand new bands that will be rolled out so add those 2 bands to the unsupported list.
98% of the bloat can be disabled and you will get the Voice over LTE. I cancelled my
International version and ordered the ATT version. I am not looking back.
Also if you paid full price for the the phone you will get unlock code after 60 days.

has anything changed with this issue?
Sorry if this is the wrong section. Quick question though, Does anyone have any updates on the 6.0 Update? I keep receiving small 35 mb updates but no big updates.
Nobody knows when 6.0 will come out.
They rarely say anything to they are about to release it. ATT also takes the longest out of all 4 major carriers
