Haven't been able to find any other information on this, My phone works fine, I get fairly good battery life but until My battery gets to 25%. At 25% if I'm using the phone it goes to 15% in about 20-30sec. and gives me a low battery warning. The 20-30sec later it gives me the 5% warning and then shuts off and will not come back on until charging. The phone is completely stock, not rooted and still running lollipop. Any suggestions?

The battery drains very fast even when I'm not really using it, it uses about 20% of electricity just for 9 hours of idle.
Does anyone have the same problem?
I am also on 2.3.3 and constantly draining the battery completely and charging it several hours past the green light to make the most of the battery, but I still have to kill WIFI and 3G to even get it through ONE day, and that's only standby.
Donno if it was better b4 i upgraded 'cos I only had 2.1 the first day.
Thinking of getting the 3rd-party 1750mA battery, ASAP.
Also hoping the good guys can Root this phone soon, and warriorvibhu makes a swirling fast SUnAaBh-Sense-Rom for it. That would be fantastic!
I absolutly can't say that i have the same problem - actually, my experience is just the opposite.
Try to folow the steps in this post.
Yes there is an issue with the Incredible S dialer using a high amount of battery even while idling. This issue has cropped up after the 2.3.3 update.
The DHD is experiencing a similar issue. No fixes yet. Probably a bug in the ROM.
I just can't understand it. Why can't HTC make firmware that doesn't crave so much power? Don't they betatest at all?
I've tried the jkolner-trick vigorously and got a few hours more, but still not accepting i can't have it on standby for more than 24h. It truly SUCKS!
SO longing for S-Off so i can get the HD-Rom. Damn HTC!!!
Try airplane mode during the night, i went from 10-15% to about 3% overnight.
I had the same issue
Resetting Battery Stats solved my problem.

hello,
i've had my SGS for a little over a week now. from day one i noticed battery drain but i thought it was normal for a new device. i flashed darky's 10.1 extreme on the second day i got it because it was very slow and had a lot of bloatware ( i wasnt very patient and i flashed at 95% or 96% battery), the drain was still there. i let it go through a few recharge discharge cycles and no improvement, so i used an app from the market called "batterycalibration" by marosige, no improvement and it the reading would drop to 99% or 98% after taking it off the charger.
i did a little digging and discovered i had the android os bug (was over 50% usage usually) so i used titanium to wipe software update and samsung account, and froze the first, didnt help by much
i then flashed darky's again at 100%, and now it still reads full charge after removing charger and android os bug i gone (reads 4% system and 4% os), but drain was still there. i emptied it to the point it couldnt turn on anymore then charged it from wall charger while turned off to 100% while i slept
i woke up and tested it by playing a game (Blastmonkeys) for like 20 mins and the battery went down to 90%, that was less than 2 hours ago, and now its at 87% and it was completely idle
notes:
my brightness is turned all the way down with no animations but display reads 54%, wifi is usually on when im home but battery stats show 6% wifi so i dont think its a big problem
also, the device was bought locked in france by someone else and im in egypt, so i dont know anything about warranty..
im sorry for the long post but i tried to be as detailed as possible...
hello, when i upgraded my sgs to 2.3.3 i also got battery drain and android os was consuming hell lot of cpu about 70%,..,.,then i flashed 2.3.4 jvp i didnt get any battery drain in that firmware then i upgraded it to 2.3.4 jvq this also donot have ny battery drain..,,.i recommend u to flash it and try it once
will try, but isnt darky only compatible with JVH? what happens if i change to JVQ?

see jvp and jvq are bug fixing firmwares and i didnt use any custom rom ,..,i have stock firmware which i just rooted and didnt use any mod or rom.,,.,.jvp and jvq are stable roms diffrence between the both is that in jvq browser is improved gallery improvement,.,..,etc
As far as I know, the percentage not being 100% after unplugging is normal. To prevent wear on the battery, the phone cuts the charger after reaching 100%, and restarts charging when it reaches ~95%.
I don't think a 3% drop in battery over 2 hours is uncommon. Wifi and data connection will pull a lot of power if on, even in standby.

Normal, this phone drains about 20% battery per hour of screen use, slightly less when watching video.
2-3% drain over 2 hours is also pretty normal if you have wifi/sync on.

I just got my SIM card replaced today. The one I had used before was about 12 years old. So whenever you-re having battery issues, make sure your SIM card is not the cause for it .
So I've been having TERRIBLE battery life with practically every rom I run ever since everyone jumped shipped to Lollipop. I could obviously switch back to Kitkat and downgrade my firmware, but I'd rather stay on Lollipop.
Is there any fix for the poor battery life? Even everyone I know with unrooted M7's on AT&T have been experiencing awful battery life since the carrier pushed the update to all phones.
Clear battery cache and install any battery boosting app it may worke☺
I'm on Viper One and it's working great.
2-3% drain over night.
I can get about 5-8hrs of screen time.
about 2-3hrs to fully charge

If i can get those stats I will be super happy. Which version of VIperOne are you running? 9.0? The last Viper Rom I ran was 8.0 and it was ok at best on my phone.
if you solved you problem please give me some clue

Hello guys,
I recently got my refurbished htc m7 and updated to lollipop. Now when im on my phone my battery goes like 11% to 5% in 30 seconds or so. Is there any option to get a better batterylife? Im on stock at the moment.
I hope to see your sugestions and your help
It sometimes does mine as well. It shows there's 10-11% left and suddenly it goes down to 1-2% just put it on charge and charge it to 100%.
Battery calibration can do the trick. Idk if it works though because im too lazy to do it to my phone
And how about a custom rom? Can i have better batterylife with that? I want to stay with a sense ROM
Hi guys
My Redmi has experiencing a bit odd behaviour every time I charge his battery
I always do full charging cycles, from 0 to 100%, and than use it till it full drains.
I usually charge it with the phone off
The last couple of times a strange thing happened: I fully charge it from 0, with the phone off, but when I turn the phone on the battery level shows something in the 70% level, the last time it was 77% only., This time I connected it back to the charger, and it went to 100%
I already installed a battery calibrator, but this keeps happening now
I use the original Xiaomi charger, or a Sony charger.
My Redmi is running the stock Marshmallow ROM - that's another funny thing, my phone simply has no updates to Noughat or ahead, I'm in Portugal those updates should have already arrived
So, any suggestion from you?
Regards
Antonio
Most probably your device has fake MIUI vendor ROM. I am guessing this because there's no update you got on your phone.
Redmi 4X has been updated already to MIUI 10 based on nougat 7.1.2.
I would recommend you to backup your all data on phone and clean flash latest stable update and restore back everything.

I'm not very worried about using latest ROM's on my phone, the charging issue is the the thing that annoys me the most, I'll think about updating my phone if and when the other problem gets a solution.
Does anybody has a say on this matter?
You should try to keep your battery level above 50%. Lithium batteries need charge to keep their effectiveness.
Only do 0-100% maybe once a month. When you do, charge the phone when off to 100%. Boot phone, if it is below 100% at startup charge more until it reaches 100%, then restart. Continue this until you get stable 100% or consistently close to it.
Battery calibration apps are trash, don't even bother with it.

Okay here is my thought on your situation.
I charge my phone upto or around 90% to 95% and recharge it when it falls down to around 20% to 25%, due to my daily routine and usage i do get around 20% battery remaining almost everyday and in very rae case it goes below 10% till now for me it never went shutdown due to battery gone full zero.
I have Redmi 1S and i charge like this and i still do get around 2.5 hours of screen on time on it which is great considering it is 4 years old device. and i am still using same original battery came in the box which now shows some ageing signs since it has little bulge on it and sometimes phone shuts downs it self and after turning on it looses 10% to 15% of its charge.
it is recommended to keep some battery % left in phone for good battery health.
over time battery does loose its capacity.
you should consider changing how you charge your phone dont let it charge fully or let it drain fully. when battery drained out completely it does takes some time to hold some charge and when you charge you phone fully the battery does goes back to 99% and goes again to 100% since it is already on charge, this keep happening until stop charging which affects battery capacity and the charge it can hold.
i think in you case this issue happening due to the how you charge your phone.

That doesn't make much sense to me since I charge it almost every time with the phone off, so once its 100% the charging process stops, and there's no way the battery should start draining because the phone is off - and even if it was on, it shouldn't loose 25% at once . If it was hardware problem, with the battery getting worn, I would never have the chance to drain it to zero slowly (it would shut down at 10% or so) or get an 100% charge level - and once I turn the phone on, he does go to 100% without any problem, so the battery seems to be ok
I do the same process with my 5 years old Sony Z1, once I charge it 100% I turn it off, and once I turn the phone on again, the battery charging level shows 100%, even If I do it a month after last charging. This old guy's battery is showing first signs of age, nowadays I get half the time I used to, but not that dramatic thing of not be able to do a phone call with 10% battery level.
So, same charger, same process, why my Xiaomi is behaving differently than he used to?
Why the charge level indicates 100% and once I turn the phone on, it shows 70 something %, and than charges without any hesitation to 100% ?

The I am not sure why is that happening suddenly using same process.
I know you've said not interested in flashing ROM just yet but maybe consider changing ROM to official Global/china stable MIUI 8 or latest MIUI 10.
Possible reason for this hardware/battery or software issue.
Maybe get device checked at official xiaomi service center or contact them on customer care support. They should help you the best.
I'm trying to do the update route, but I'm not very confident on my tech skills - and the downloads are failing all the time.
What's the best/easiest way to update my 4x?

Hi
Thanks for your reply, I ended up finding there's a MIUI tool available on playstore with ready updates for most phones, so I just downloaded the updated ROM directly to my phone and installed it.
It even kept all my apps and files, I did some backups in the process but never had to use them
Thank you all guys
have you tried
1) power off the phone and then after few seconds power on
2) charge using a different charger + different cable when your battery level drops below 50%, just to check if the phone still charges to 76-77% or if it charges to 100%.
3) if the above fails you need try factory reset or flash latest MIUI rom
