Yesterday my wifi connection on the x98 Air III (M5C5) showed an exclamation mark and data was not transferred. I tried to switch wifi off and on again, but it will not turn on anymore. It either just shows the slider in off position and "Turning on wifi" text or sometimes the slider works, but nothing happens. I tried some soft and hard reboots, fully charging...
Probably similar to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxBRWFuc6-8
Is this a hardware failure or can it be fixed by reflashing the OS? Bluetoth seems to work.
Wifi error
I have the same problem.
Upgraded with a new ROM, but the wifi doesn't work either.
When I click to turn the wifi on, the table is turning wifi on .....but it doesn't finish to turn it on.
After turning off the tablet in airplane mode sometimes I can get the wifi to be on, but it doesn't finish to find any wifi net.
Any ideas about how to solve this problem? Thanks

When I reboot my Captivate, my Rosewill RNX-EasyN4 router reboots also. When the Captivate tries to connect to Wifi that is when the router reboots. This only happens after I reboot the phone. When I just turn off Wifi and then turn it back on, the router is fine. Even if I turn off the Wifi for a while and turn it back later, the router has no problems. Has anyone experienced this problem before? I am running Serendipity 6.3. I think it was happening when I was running stock also, but I am not 100% sure.
Sounds like your router is flakey. Rebooting the Captivate should not cause a reboot of your router. Check the Rosewill website and see if they have updated firmware for your router. That may solve the problem.
I have the latest firmware on the router dated 2010.07.15. I do not think it is a problem with the router because I have multiple notebooks, a PS3, and a wireless printer connected to it. Only the Captivate causes it to reboot.
Turn off wifi before you reboot.

Tried that already. Once I turn Wi-Fi back on, the router reboots.
Ok, try power cycling the router. 2) try the fxr wifi fix from the market.

Tried power cycling already. Installed and ran the FXR Wifi Fix, but that did not help. I went back to try your original suggestion, turn Wi-fi before reboot. Normally I have Flight mode turned on and Wi-fi enabled. When I reboot Wi-fi is disabled. So I assumed that rebooting with Flight mode on was the same as turning Wi-fi off. But I just tried it and they are not the same. When I manually turn off Wi-fi and reboot, it does not cause the router to reboot. The problem seems to be that when I reboot with Wi-fi on the phone is still in the router's WLAN Client Table. And when the phone tries to reconnect while the router thinks the phone is still connected, it causes it to reboot. At least now I can work around it. Thanks for your help.

Are you by any chance using a wireless N router? I've found that my Bionic will reboot my router every time I try to connect, not just on reboots. But if I turn off the wireless N and just use B+G on my router the phone works fine.
All of a sudden beginning yesterday my captivate can no longer connect to the wifi network at work. Other users can connect to the network fine and I'm able to see the network from my phone and connect to other networks just fine but when I try to connect to the work network it just shows connecting with the round circle containing 2 curved arrows and then disconnected, scanning, and connecting again.
I have stock 2.3.5 and have tried wifi fixing apps and power cycling without success... Basically I'm stuck at the point of a hard reset unless anyone has any other suggestions for why I'm unable to access one specific wifi channel all of a sudden...
Thanks!
I meet wifi problem like yours, cause of the poor network switcher. After switcher reboot, phone can connect it.
Try Airplane mode on the phone, or switching WiFi on and off. Rebooting router helps too - but probably not an option at work.
It's the router/access point. Reboot that and all is good.
My Gear Live auto-turns off WIFI when I turn off bluetooth on my phone. Does anyone experience this? When I select "Re-enable WIFI" the WIFI turns on, but auto turns off again. No WIFI problems when I turn on both bluetooth and wifi on my phone.
Edit: I discovered restarting the watch is the only way to keep WIFI connected when this happens. Touching "Re-enable WIFI" does nothing.

Honestly this is the first time I see this option screen. And I use wifi quite often. Try resetting your watch and see if that helps.
Gear Live 5.1.1 WIFI
Delete
Hi, I'm new here so forgive me if I do something wrong^^
First of all, I have a Moto G 2014, Dual Sim which is running on 5.1.1, to be more specific, this ROM. I was using this ROM for about 4 months already so that shouldn't be the issue. My problem is that after my phone connects to the internet, usually using H+. The connection to the internet is working perfectly fine, but after a while of not using the phone it loses the connection. It still tells me that it got a strong H+ connection, but nothing (browser, apps, anything) is able to connect to the internet. Enabling & disabling airplane mode usually fixes the problem. From time to time it also happens, usually when I lost some sort of wifi connection (regardless if I disabled wifi or I got out of range) it happens that it shows full connectivity but with an exclamation mark. This only goes away if I reboot or enable & disable airplane mode again.
Is this issue known/is there any solution to
I have been experiencing the exact same thing as of lately. I thought it was a byproduct of downgrading from (Stock) Marshmallow to (Stock) Lollipop (yes! it's happening even on stock ROM) where at times the WiFi losses connectivity when the phone had been sleeping for awhile...even though I have the "Keep WiFi on during sleep" option on under WiFi's advanced settings. I had no idea that it also happens with data connections ! ...as I don't use it (too expensive for me), now I'm uncertain what could be the cause. I can see how this would be an inconvenience if you use a lot of social media apps as I sometimes do not get my WhatsApp messages when this happens and sometimes I don't even receive my Hangouts messages until I open the app manually.
It's strange, at times when my phone sleeps for awhile and it losses connectivity and I wake it, it will reconnect just fine and other times it just goes into this state where it reconnects with full signal strength but with an exclamation mark next to the WiFi icon in the notification bar. When this happens, no matter what I try it stays in this state, I tried turning off WiFi and turning it back on, also forgetting the network and entering the info and reconnecting to it but none of that works. I didn't know that turning on and off airplane mode can help....I'll have to try that one, rebooting the phone was the only solution I found which is just inconvenient and somewhat annoying.
I too, am interested in a proper solution. I don't know why the phone ignores the "Keep WiFi on during sleep" option or why at times it connects but have not internet access! It should be noted that it's not a problem with the network, It's not due to an incorrect password or anything like that as I am the one that administers those things and when it happens other WiFi devices such as my Tablet PC, Laptop etc can connect and access the internet just fine and it only happens sometimes on the phone (Moto G 2014). This doesn't seem to happen in Marshmallow...but I hate Marshmallow and I can't remember having this issue on Lollipop post Marshmallow update (how I wish I had never tried out Marshmallow!!!), which is why I thought it was related to downgrading, .......did you downgrade ?
hi all. i am on android 6.0.1 build 23.5.A.1.291. My problem is that my wifi keeps resetting and searching. i am traveling so its not my personal router that is an issue. my tablet and laptop connect to the same routers here without issue but my phone tries to connect various open connections but immediately resets all connections and starts searching for them again. occasionally it connects for a second. the same issue occurs if is set my tablet as a hotspot so i doubt it is related to the available connections. also for some reason i don't seem to have any advanced options anymore to tell the phone to sop scanning. Any help would be much appreciated. so far I tried turning airplane mode on and off as it seems have started at the airport, reset all network connections , general powering down and up etc. nothing seems to work.
hey, i know this post is quite old yet i only found it now facing exactly the same issue. it all started at my parents when phone was suddenly not able to connect (exclamation mark on wifi icon in status bar). i restarted router but it did not help. when i came home i faced the same issue. both routers are different, different provider, etc. before the weekend all worked fine so not really sure what happened. not the phone (z3c) keeps searching for wifi, displays the list for a few secs and searches again.
i tried what was suggested in other topics, like here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/help/wifi-issues-z3c-marshmallow-fix-t3390859
or
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/help/wifi-randomly-disconnecting-575-t3435244
but nothing helped. now considering to re-flash the latest firmware. trying my luck here before i do so.
current sw on 23.5.A.1.291
update:
1) i tried to repair the phone using Sony Companion .. did not help
2) flashed it with the latest sw .. did not help
in both cases sw version was D5803_23.5.A.1.291_1288-5411_R12D. when phone starts for the first time it shows wifi networks. but just for a while, that it starts "searching for wifi networks..". when i select my wifi network, fill in the password and click connect it says "failed to connect to network". i can already see on the background that the phone is again searching for wifi networks. if i try to connect at the right moment network is saved. but then it does not connect. or sometimes it does but "checking connection" takes ages and wifi symbol in top bar keeps appearing and disappearing. at the end it shows error message "could not connect to internet".
what could be the problem?
