My fire is rooted and I don't want to use a custom Rom. I have tried to integrate updates to system on link2sd but it instead have me a boot loop.
So please anyone can suggest me a working way to integrate app updates to system as fire comes with very low inbuilt storage.
Thanks

Which stock apps and system files are safe to freeze or uninstall for nook hd+ ?
I want to use titanium backup to freeze some useless apps/service to release more usable memory
and is it possible to enable "full" setting menu ? It seem missing many setting on stock rom 2.1 (compare to my other android devices), such as change the hostname, force o enable GPU for all 2D app ...etc
the "shelf" function on stock rom home screen is nice, so i want to keep my stock rom.
thx
You cannot uninstall any system apps on the HD+. If you do the system will reset itself and erase all your data. It is part of the B&N lockdown features.
But you can go to settings and apps and "disable" a system app. It is similar to the freeze function in TB. I do not have a list of apps ok to disable.
And there is no way to expand the stock settings, what you see is what you get.

I should use CM10 on my nook hd+ to enable all setting since cm10.1 is working fine on my old nook color
I have tried to insert "device_hostname" to settings.db (secure) on PC, but nothing changed after reboot
btw, any replacement app can provide a "Shelf" on home screen which similar to stock Home screen ?
I've following problem: Everytime when I try to Integrate updates of system apps into ROM in Titanium Backup Pro, all these apps will be removed from launcher. I can't access them anymore. Like on uninstall. Any idea how to integrate updates to ROM?
Hi! Did you make restart after integration? For me it is working without problem...

Hi there,
simple question, how can i backup full kindle fire hd partitions? The reason is that i love to test other ROMs. So my idea is that i simply copy
every block device here -- > /dev/block/mmcblk* , and then installin other one ROM.
If i would like to resume to my previsous system, i should only copy all of these files back to kindle.
Am i true ?
The reason why is that i want to restore whole system with every installed apps + cachce + everything else i got. Titanium prog is not usefull for me, because i cannot restore a lot of apps created on STOCK or Kinology ROMs, on other ROM, like Chameleon, Paranoid ..etc.
Will be appreciate if somebody help, despite of broking my dreams about such simple restore method
Cheers

The most obvious and easiest way, in my opinion - nandroid backup. You have an option to make a reserve copy of your system in custom recovery.
I have my desire systemless rooted w/ twrp installed. I have tried several different ways of removing system apps but Everytime I restart EVERY Single app is back like they are an aggressive cancer that will not subdue to chemo. Is Anyone else experiencing this and if not please advise me on your method of removal. Thanks.
Also, Tidbit more info, when I attempt to flash ANY thing in TWRP, the phone stops the flash and IMMEDIATELY restarts into ROM.

Have you tried re flashing twrp ? You can use flashify or rashr from play store to flash the .IMG file
As far as system apps and bloat, I've also had issues removing them. When I use ROM toolbox pro's app manager, a lot of times the app will still be on the list of apps installed even after I've clicked uninstall. But usually the apps are gone once I reboot
I use /system/ app mover *root* from the play store. I covert the system apps to user apps and then uninstall them.
It also shows that in the latest update it might recognize sytemless root.

Why do you convert to user apps first? Could that be the reason why they aren't being removed? Due to some type of broken operation of an app that was meant to be system only?

I do that because I keep some of the apps and also because I haven't had any problems uninstalling apps that way. converting them to user apps also gives me the option to move them to the SD card.
I remember when I used "system app remover(root),"it would still show the app in the app drawer(even after reboot) and when I pressed on them they would say "unfortunately ...has stopped"
I used titanium backup to get rid of all the apps i didnt want, afterwords i went into TWRP and wiped the dalvik cache/ART cache and it rebuild upon first reboot, and all the apps i uninstalled were gone.try this method and let us know.
