[Help][Amazon Fire 7 5th] won't turn on!! - Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Fire OS 5.1.1 -> 5.0.1 try it. in use flashfire.
Since then it flashed and off the screen.
In the computer does not recognize and Power is not turned on.
Is this one of the Hard bricks?
How Can I fix this?

Sadly, it seems you did not take the time to research what you wanted to accomplish and how.
You cannot downgrade nor should use flashfire.. The topic has been mentioned tons of times on this forum.
Your best bet is to contact Amazon and get a replacement.
You can try this but doubt it will work:

And this has the answers and procedures for about everything in regards to the Fire 5th gen:

[Q] Any exploits identified yet to root 11.3.2?

Hi
I know the update just got pushed a couple of days back, but wanted to check if anyone had already identified how to root a Kindle Fire HD with 11.3.2?
I lost my root access after this update.
Thanks.

i'm not an expert with the 2013 kindles, but you shouldn't need one if adb is enabled, you should be able to run "adb reboot bootloader", unless for some reason you have no adb access.
no there isnt as of yet. adb reboot fastboot does not function on this device so you need the fact cable to get it into that mode to run the exploit
O well that sucks least I know this now. Can't believe they disabled the easy way to get into it.

Hello
I've had the same issue. My kindle was rooted fine but then a recent update has caused it to become unrooted. Version is 11.3.2
Does anyone know if there is a way for me to root this again?
Much appreciated

So anybody know how to root the kindle fire 7" 2013 running 11.3.2 without factory cable? Otherwise is there a way to downgrade to 11.3.1?
11.3.2.3.2
Hi, rooting noob here-literally just starting!
Can't find anything on rooting my Kindle Fire HD 2nd Gen which is running the 11.3.2.3.2 version. It was installed today (so I'm not suprised that I can't find anything).
Anyway, tried using the files above by downloading and running the runme batch filebut it kept getting stuck on "Waiting for device." You mentioned fixing it somehow...How?
Please be thorough, I'm new.

Same here, been scouring the web and have found nothing, looks like we may be stuck for a while. The thing that drives me NUTS is that I got this warranty replaced by Amazon, and the day I turned it on it updated from 11.x...if ONLY I'd left it in airplane mode!!

^^ Same here.
Even contacted Amazon Support to see if there's any way to downgrade or reset to complete stock.... and was told that due to my Kindle Fire 7" 2nd Gen "lagging" and "freezing up" (wasnt sure exactly WHY I was trying to revert pre-update lol) all he could recommend was sending it in for repair/replacement. Dang it.
Off I go to (attempt) a fastboot cable.... <wish me luck!>
Send it in and then restart rooting it again.

7.4.9 never been rooted ... how can I root it now?

I have a Kindle Fire HD that has never been rooted (although I tried like heck last night when it was 7.4.8) and today I see it is 7.4.9 and have been told this is unrootable? Is this correct?
If so, is there anyway to add the Google Play store without rooting. I bought this on eBay listed as unable to be registered but I didn't care because I didn't want the Fire OS, my plan was to make it a full fledged android tablet with a custom ROM.
What can I do now?

Fastboot with a fastboot cable or maybe a "adb reboot bootloader" if you get lucky, then downgrade the os with kindle fire first aid, proceed with the usual procedure.

Ok I ordered a fast boot factory cable today. Do I have to downgrade or can I just use the cable install a custom ROM?

Even though this says for the 2013 version of the Kindle Fire HD, it does work on the the HD 7 running 7.4.9. It is how I rooted mine. You will have to manually install SuperSu which you can get from Chainfire's site.

Im trying that tonight on a kfhd 8.9 with the 8.4.9 Hoping i can get in to go to fastboot. If i can not get this going soon i may fix it permanently using the microwave technique (as in putting the kinlde fire in a 1000watt microwave oven for 10 minutes and cooking it...)
If it comes down to this maybe ill record it for all to see haha.
Stupid amazon and their forcing us in to the x.4.9 update. This should not be legal for any company to do period. Would be like a auto maker sneaking in to your driveway and removing your performance enhancing upgrades and using a welding torch to put their factory garbage back on. And yes it is the same idea. We all root or kindles and other android devices (and apple products) to give us a better performing and or more feture rich device. Those who do this understand this voids the warranty and are not worried about that at all. Heck many of us own tablets etc that are long out of warranty so amazon etc will not even need to worry about that side of thing.
Sorry for the venting but yeesh this is irritating

No my device wasn't rooted and barely used at all at this point.
I did use a fastboot cable, yeah...
I also have 7.4.9 and rooted it with Root with Restore by Bin4ary, using Option 1, via ADB. Worked just as it did with previous OS.
KFFirstAide didn't root it.
What did you try to root it with?
Issue with rooting 7.4.9
I tried using the root with recovery binary to root my kindle fire hd, but it won't run fireflash, and busy box was not included when it rooted. Am I missing something here? It's a Kindle Fire HD 7", running 7.4.9.
Downgrade it with SRT or kffa, it will be pre-rooted. You may need a fastboot cable to do this though if "adb reboot bootloader" doesn't do the trick.

Need help on Kindle fire hd 8.9? model 3ht7g.

My kindle is stuck on the blue kindle fire screen and wont go into recovery mode. it also doesn't show in fastboot, computer won't recognize it, and no firmware. I just want to get it back to factory. I have no clue how to do any of it just need some step by step help.

Likely a permanent brick. What version of FireOS and what actions proceeded the behavior?

Installing custom rom with FireOS 5.3.1.0

I have FireOS 5.3.1.0 on my 5th gen Amazon tablet and I want to put Cyanogenmod on it. I understand that I need to first go back to 5.1.2 in order for TWRP to work but I'm also seeing reports that going back to an older version bricks the device. Is it possible to put a new rom on this device? If so, does anyone know where I can find a how-to?

- 5.1.3 can be successfully rolled back to 5.1.2
- 5.3.1 is new; consequences of a rollback attempt are unknown
- twrp is not an option (period); you'll need to use FlashFire for managing custom roms
I tried, despite the warnings, and with knowledge that it could be "fatal", to put 5.1.2 on a 5th gen Fire that had 5.3.1.0 on it. It's now bricked. Only comes up to the MediaTek MT65XX PreLoader, loops on that, never shows anything on the screen. Don't do what I did.

I bought two tablets during Prime Day, both came with 5.1.4. I mistakenly accepted the OTA system update for 5.31. on one of the tablets, and couldn't find a way to root or downgrade (I was only able to install google play/apps). After doing a factory reset, I exchanged it at Best Buy (no restock fee!) for a tablet with 5.1.4.
I have since successfully downgraded both tablets to 5.1.2 using RootJunky's tools (Search YouTube for a video by RootJunky titled "How to Firmware Restore or Unbrick your Amazon Fire 5th gen Tablet "), and then I followed the steps from talesofatech.com from the articles list below, to root and flash to an AOSP rom.

NOTE: the above statement refers to downgrading 5.1.3/5.1.4 -> 5.1.2. It does NOT apply to higher versions of FireOS. At this time there is no option to downgrade 5.3.1.x to a lower (rootable) version. Any attempt to do so will likely yield a brick.

Many people have done that (I am one). I think it's misleading to have 5.1.3/5.1.4 posts in the 5.3.1.x thread.
Read the warning too late about the 5.3.1.0 OS and now my Fire HD 8 tablet is bricked. Any one know how to get it back working again? It was 5.1.4 just the other day and I decided to downgrade today, but did not think of checking the OS version and end it up bricking it.

Suspect that was one if the first things tried as there is typically no risk associated with root attempts (the payload included with some rooting apps is another story). Beyond that several have analyzed the security 'fixes' incorporated into 5.3.1 and concluded previously leveraged exposures have been closed while others have yet to be exploited. You can bet Amazon will be working to close those too.
argh... received a 5.1.4, and red to late the downgrade option to root. Tried King root, it said a root option would be possible. So I upgraded the fire tablet to 5.3.1.0 in two steps und tried in both king root... nothing worked. So I also have to wait for a new freaky instruction to root a fire 5.3.1.0

Welcome to Amazon's world. First rule: never update FireOS if you care about root (there are exceptions; too many caveats to detail). Second rule: ask before acting as likely someone before you has fallen into the firery pit and has a helpful tale to share.
In your case FireOS 5.1.4 was just fine - could be rolled back and rooted. 5.3.x not so much. Live and learn.

Unbrick kindle fire os 5.3.1.0

Last night I got a kindle fire with os 5.1.4, I downgraded to 5.1.2 nd rooted it. While I was asleep it upgraded to 5.3.1, I just sideloaded 5.1.2
I decided to look online about 5.3.1, and just saw that I probably bricked it. I am still in the boot menu options. I don't want to turn it off yet, would I be able to re-sideload 5.3.1 and have everything be ok? I am still in the page to sideload, and can still sideload. I just don't know if I broke it yet.
ok
So I was afraid that my battery power may drain while waiting for a reply (I understand that I was unlikely to get one in that short of a time), so I re-sideloaded 5.3.1.0 (after sideloading 5.1.2 before powering off then on) and wiped cache/factory reset. Everything loaded (except the apps I had before the reset), it's fine.
So, amazon has the source code available on their page for 5.3.1.0
Is it possible to alter this and re-sideload the altered 5.3.1? I just want to remove a lot of garbage.
