I just wanted to know what commands you used in fastboot and in the exact same order that gave a successful output.
Because I couldn't ever flash stock KitKat using SP flash tools.
Thought this would help...

So basically the only thing working in fastboot
somehow i have managed to wipe everything off of my device so there is no rom installed what so ever...which means i am unable to turn on usb debugging to get adb working. I am also on 1.31 so the RUU method will not work. i am able to flash whatever recovery or Superuser i wish and root/unroot as i please.
the only solution i can think of would be to flash a signed stock zip using "fastboot update signedstock.zip" but the ones i found here -http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2368907 dont seem to work. i get errors like no "boot.img" or "does not contain android-info.txt"
any suggestions?
thanks for your time

Then oh well? There is no other way to fix it than using TWRP / CWM and adb / fastboot.

just a fyi you can use fastboot to flash a rom if you put it in the same folder as the platform tools folder of your sdk, All roms have a android-info.txt file that's how android knows how to flash what to the particular partition.
you can flash any zip file from fastboot as long as it has the android-info file
fastboot flash zip nameofzip.zip

you need adb drivers, usb 2.0 port...uknown sources and usb debug must be enabled and you need to grant SU permissions when asked. After that you can enter CWM by pressing vol - button several times after you turn it on
I cannot get it on my phone, I've followed the instructions perfectly yet it won't flash in flash mode. Doesn't flash in fastboot like it suggests either. When I try to flash in fastboot it says I need to be rooted first. I am.
Sent from Bat Country.
To install cwm you don't put phone-in flash mode.
You need phone switched on,connect phone to PC,run the bat file on PC,follow on screen prompts, grant root/su permission, reboot phone cwm installed.

Also with other devices i've had you were able to flash recovery back to stock manually then use and update.img to flash system back to stock but as our devices don't have a recovery that can flash an update.img manually because of the way it's hodden that method isn't available either so look like i'm going to need a computer either way. If i'm missing something please let me know though, thanks.

You are already on 6.0.1 Marshmallow. You said it yourself. You said you even still have stock recovery. So, seems like you don't need to do anything?
Maybe you wrote something wrong or left something out? Please clarify, and we'll be glad to help if we can.

OK, then you need to flash this via RSDLite or ADB.
[FXZ] Official Stock Firmware 6.0.1 MCG24.251-5-5
https://forum.xda-developers.com/dr...-official-stock-firmware-6-0-1-mcg24-t3569334
You can google how to download/use RSDLite or ADB. But that's the most recent stock firmware you need to flash with either of those tools.

As far as I know you need to be on the bootloader screen, not recovery screen. Maybe that was your problem? RSDLite just automates a bunch of stuff ADB does.
Also, sometimes you need to use msfastboot instead of fastboot commands. I sort of remember why, but I don't want to state anything incorrectly. But try msfastboot if fastboot doesn't work.
For ROMs I use TWRP, so I'm not an ADB expert -- but I have used it. However, it's been over two years since I've had to flash a full firmware image via ADB (but I have flashed individual elements since then like modems, boot logos, etc.), so I'm just going to say yes flash every partition manually.

thanks you're good man :good::laugh:
hello everyone
Buy a Chinese mi8, unlock it waiting for the days that xiaomi tells you.
I installed the global version, and everything works correctly, but I want to change the rom.
I've tried to install TWRP with adb and it's impossible, it tells me the ADB template that OKEY, but never restarts in recovery mode with TWRP, so I can not install magisk, or any rom that is not official.
Is there any way to install a ROM (.zip) without TWRP?, how do I do Root without magisk? Has it happened to anyone?
thanks!
First of all, you're in the wrong section.
Second you should install via fastboot as described a thousand times AND reboot directly to your TWRP image via fastboot command.
The you can flash another from and root it.
Third, I'd like to strongly advice you to do some research about android, flashing etc to make sure that you know what you are doing.... So many people are moaning about bricked devices....

It's not the first cell phone I've flashed that you're not smart.
I have followed the steps as they are, and as you can see in the image, everything seems to be installed correctly. But whenever I restart in recovery mode, I get the xiaomi no twrp.
Do you know why?

You are trying to be smart? Well...
Why didn't you post your exact steps with fastboot in the first post?
Now it's clear what you did wrong. I already expected it. And you did NOT read what I wrote:
You are rebooting your device with fastboot reboot. In this case your twrp is wiped out by the XIAOMI recovery. Use: fastboot boot yourimagename.
btw, why are you using such an old TWRP? You won't be able to flash actual roms.
So I'd like to come back to my advice in the first answer....

Thanks for the help.
But all the steps that indicate, I have passed them and I never install the TWRP correctly.
1. my mobile phone is unlocked (with the padlock open)
2. I have the official rom installed
3. I try to install twrp with all the commands you have told me, and I never restart the mobile with twrp. I've tried new, intermediate and older versions. and nothing
Is there any way to install an unofficial rom without TWRP?

You can't flash a ROM without TWRP and Magisk is the only way you can root your phone that I know of. If you don't even know these simple things/haven't done simple research you might risk to softbrick or even hardbrick your new and shiny phone. There are many guides on how to flash TWRP but you can PM me if you want more help.
Also you don't install TWRP with adb, you need to use fastboot...

5. Run CMD as Administrator then cd to the installed Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder. (Ex: cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot)
6. Use this command on your cmd: fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.2.3-0-dipper.img
7. Then: fastboot boot twrp-3.2.3-0-dipper
8. And: fastboot reboot recovery
9. You're now in twrp recovery mode
