*Recommended backup your files first !!
1-Download Zip.
2-Reboot in to recovery.
3- If you come from other roms Choose (clean to install new rom(wipe system, data, chache, dalvik)
4-Choose install zip from SDCard.
5-Choose the file to flash.
After flash finish Reboot.
After first boot reboot in to recovery again and flash Gapps 4.4.4 Micro
BUGS on Flyme OS 4.1.1R KK 4.4.4:
*External sd card formated as EXT-FAT not work, [we need help to try fix it]
*Other formats like FAT32, as recognized but only accessed via file manager, applications in that Rom not works with SD card
because the Meizu phone not have sdcard, and apps like music, photos, and others not read the info from sd only from internal memory.

i never tried several roms. nor doing backups.
ill pick wisely my future OS and then dont move.

Hahah nice comment. I'm running this android os at 2 days ago,and looking for android processes and not found any drain battery and strange process that i was under tracking!!! I can tell you that works great and i never tested this beautiful OS in any device before. Is like Miui style and have one of the greatest interface that i tested. If you not prefere test it you will never knows, how much this OS is superb.
Maybe one day we will have some more lovers of this OS and some developer try fix somes small Bugsl

I tried both your methods.
First i tried to flash the update.zip through mi recovery and i got the error that the package is not digitally signed.
Then i tried the fastboot method and i got TWRP, but afrer reboot it went back to mi recovery.
Am i missing something?

Can you show log after installation rom? I have twrp from http://en.miui.com/thread-156838-1-1.html , also I tested twrp from http://en.miui.com/thread-152550-1-1.html and so it looks (screen).

Hope it could be fixed soon. For now only recovery which reboots properly is http://en.miui.com/thread-156838-1-1.html, others I tried (didn't try this before link was removed) freezes on reboot and I have to remove battery. But that one should be flashed using PC.
BTW: should this still belongs to original development thread, it seams like unnoficial TWRP port, right?

Yes, it works

Thanks dude. I unzipped just the recovery image and usesd flashify to, um, flash it. That allowed me to make a nandroid backup before I started experimenting with an alternate ROM. I'm so glad I did that because it turned out that Xiaomi's internal backup app doesn't work properly. It didn't restore my contacts, my appointments and some other things. It was really great to use TWRP to return to the setup I had this morning before experimenting with so little hassle After I was done I just did a dirty flash of my current ROM over the top to restore the original recovery.

What about Redmi Note 2 opensource? We able to get kernel sources or even build device tree for any AOSP based ROM? Newer look into MTK before.
P.s. For now wait untill I get my device.

Instructions for installing in EDL mode:
- Install MiFlash. Driver will be installed automatically.
- Turn off your device. And make sure it doesn't connect to pc via usb cable.
- Plug your device to pc by pressing volume keys and power key at the same time.
- Your device should be enter EDL mode.
- Make sure you see to device as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008"
- Open MiFlash. Browse and choose folder you've downloaded.
- Click Refresh. You should see your device on list.
- Flash and wait until installation is done.
- You can turn on your device.

Some guys reported there is no sound making a call on Android 8 with nougat modem.
So I have modded new oreo modem and now it compatible with A2017G and A2017U models.
The zips are flashable, you can install over twrp or you can unpack related zip and replace NON-HLOS.bin file with EDL rom's one before installion.

if you install the FASTBOOT_UNLOCK_EDL_N. The message is deleted but it does not start.
it also encrypts the phone.
Nor can you listen to who calls you.

You have to press the power button when that corruption message appears; then plug the phone into your PC after the Linux Penguin is displayed and it should eventually start booting into the ROM. Credit to @WesTD for the solution.

Sure thing...too buggy.
It's only a too premature, " never had to be leaked " ROM.
There's only one guy who received this "update" imo and too risky (relative ofcourse) to continue on this ROM.
So imo better to be on a stable rom as MF5.0 then on unstable MF5.2 oreo i guess AND wait for a FULL WORKING release by ZTE itself.

This ROM is are unuseful for now. There are too many bugs. No sound on calling on my U model.
I'll wait for Oreo on U devices. I think it will be better on MiFavor 4.2

The rom doesn't contain any google apps
And you can't installed in any way .
How to install rom:
By stock recovery
copy the rom to sdcard after extract it to zip then installed.
Your data will be erased.
There's a bug's:
Like auto Bright not working.
Some time icons disappear on the status bar.
The data or 3g stop working if you restart the device, you need to remove access point then recreated every time you restart the device.
If any one can help with create costume rom from another brand.
Because it's stupid phone in the world
I backed to modified rom android 8.1.0.
Am sorry for long story.
I try Different costume roms and GSI roms but not working.
Bootloop or stuck on samsung logo or stuck on animation logo for ever.
I try all methods to solve those problem but nothing help me.
Now I come back to stupid modified rom.
Please help me.

you must install it with stock recovery.
download file to memory then from recovery choose install from memory card.

What is OxygenDust?
OxygenDust is a Operating System that simulates the feel of oxygenOS. But cleaner, and debloated. It uses LineageOS as a base for the system for fast and smooth performance.
The project originally was called PikaOS, And for the Samsung galaxy a3 2017. But this got cancelled as it was made in the schoolvacation and it was hard to make a rom full with feutures. Its easier to just port them over.

OxygenOS sounds (partially broken right now)
serveral pixel stuff built in
Pre-rooted
Oneplus wallpapers (more is coming)
No google apps (only files, alternative to the stock files app [still in the rom])
How do i install OxygenDust?
PLEASE. BACK UP UR IMEI!! THERE IS A CHANCE THE IMEI WILL DISSAPEAR. SERVERAL PEOPLE LOST THEIR IMEI BY BEING STUPID. DONT POINT UR FINGER AT ME FOR UR STUPIDITY.
The file is in a TWRP backup format. Im still figuring out how to make a zip installer.
Make sure you have these things ready or installed:
TWRP 3.7.0 or higher.
Atleast 4gb of internal storage memory free. Highly recommended to format internal storage.
Formatted these partitions: System, data, cache, dalvik
The backup ofc
INSTALLING THE ROM:
Extract the zip file
make sure u have the TWRP folder ready.
format internal storage
Remove the current TWRP folder (secure any other backups)
Place the TWRP folder in internal storage.
Reboot recovery
Go to restore
Select the oxygenOS backup.
restore.
reboot
enjoy!

I get the stock android bootup logo, what do i do?
This is normal. since it comes with magisk preloaded and some bugs on lineage some things break.
The animations are laggy.
theyre not laggy, theyre on 1.5x. go to developer options too turn them up or down.
My imei is gone.
U shoudve read the thread properly.
No partitions are selected for restore error.
Make sure u have copied the WHOLE TWRP FOLDER. not just the backup, THE WHOLE FOLDER.
My sdcard wont work properly.
This is a bug in lineageOS.

Well let's hope it has a proper install method from a zip file. Also, you need to take some responsibility by explaining in clear, precise instructions how to backup the IMEI if there is a danger your ROM may lose it.

Does anyone have the rom so we can for now test the rom
