Hello,
I recently installed the B609 update, but I didn't know that takes away the root acces... Now I can't root with RootGenius anymore.
So can anyone tell me how I can root my phone now? I know there are already some tutorials but they all use a fastboot flash file. I don't want to take that risk. That way I bricked my phone a mont ago.
Thanks in advance!
there is no other solution at the moment...

No, all you need to do is flash this zip with recovery.

Hello,
I'm trying to root my honor 5c/7 lite that is running android 7.0 and EMUI 5.0 on it and it runs very smooth , but when I flash TWRP 3.1.0.0, twrp never loads up, it's just stuck in "You device is booting now" when trying to enter recovery.
The method I use is the manual method via bootloader:
HTML:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot reboot
And yes my bootloader is obviously unlocked!
I did only have 20% battery left however, if that affects it at all?
Before I flashed Android 7.0 and EMUI 5.0 onto the device, I had no problem rooting it the same way with the same recovery.
UPDATE:
I'm now on android 6.0 / EMUI 4.1.2
I have flash TWRP 3.1.0.0 and rooted with superSu v2.79 SR3

You should be on EMUI 4 before flashing twrp.

Refer to the honor site for downgrade instruction. U need to flash a seperate update.app before flashing the full update.app. U will get these all in the downgrade instructions.

In the rollback instructions u will find a seperate update.app and a full update.app. U need to first flash the seperate update.app by putting it in dload folder. After flashing that reboot then replace that dload folder with the full update in dload. Flash that. Then u will be on EMUI 4.
Ok, I have successfully downgraded my phone now. Is it now possible to root my phone then flash android 7 onto it?

You can root it after flashing Emui 5, but u can't flash twrp as of now. Twrp for Emui 5 is not available right now.
I just flashed lineage OS 13 instead
So there is no way to root emui 5/android 7 without rolling back to 6?

same issue here. if twrp doesn't support emui 5 as of now, aren't there any other recoveries for it like cwm or anything else? tried kingroot etc with no luck.. and nougat update came with SO MUCH bloatware that needs to be uninstalled asap!

bloatware doesnt eat battey, unless you have 1 gb sdcard it should be fine. also you can delete all data and disable them.

In Huawei P9 lite thread there is a Twrp recovery for nougat, EMUI 5. Developer is oldDroid. He wants to support honor 5c with his twrp. Bt he needs testers. Just contact him if u want.

Ya, me too
Hi all,
My goal is to root my NEM-L51 and to have TWRP installed instead of Huawei eRecovery.
The problem with my "bootloader unlocked" NEM-L51 (EMUI 5.0 & ANDROID 7.0) :
last TWRP ( twrp-3.1.1-0-nemo.img 21.4M 2017-05-17 22:32:56 EDT ) seems to be written OK (?) but impossible to boot in (tried with previous nemo 3.1.0.0 same results).
In facts, it is still eRecovery that comes when I use the Huawei 3 option menu of the unlocked device to access the recovery or any other keys combinations.
When I try to go to recovery using adb reboot recovery from a PC, I get : "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" then the device is stucked on a message "Your device is booting now...". If I turn it off, it automatically turns on again to the same screen with "Your device is booting now...".
The fix to boot normally (on the 3 options menu) is to press : Button UP + DOWN + POWER for get out of the loop.
Done some searches but not found something more I could try.
Should I ask some help to NEM-L51 gurus ?
Thanks in advance.
A workaround that worked for me
WARNING, FOR ROOTING ONLY IT IS OK, FOR ANY OTHER TWRP USES, I DON'T KNOW, I WILL NOT TRY ANYTHING ELSE ( see thread below Zarou posts : https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/development/twrp-t3588356/page8 )

The TWRP that worked for rooting (only) my Honor 5C NEM-L51 :
https://github.com/OpenKirin/android_device_huawei_hi6250/releases/download/3.1.0-2/twrp-3.1.0-2-hi6250.img
The SuperSU installed on my NEM-L51 using the above TWRP :

Hope it will help Honor 5C NEM-L51 owners.

Hey man, do not flash 2.79, flash 2.81 only, it is better...
Sent from mine Huawei Honor 5C using XDA Labs, Unlocked and rooted with SuperSU Pro Version(2.81), using TWRP Recovery (twrp-3.1.0.2hi6250.img(It's the ONLY image, which works on EMUI 5.0 Honor 5C))

Are you using the correct twrp version and which superSu version you are flashing?
