AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Marshmallow. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
Full wipe, flash rom, flash gapps, boot
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
To update to M, you must flash the M modem and perform a full wipe
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source with custom additions.
Kernel has support for primary MultiROM ROM (includes kexec hardboot support)
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.

You beautiful, beautiful human! I'll be flashing immediately! Thank you sooooo much!
Downloading now will report back on how it is
Edit: Running amazingly right now smooth in general but like many ROMs recently there's a little bit of a notification area lag. I know Devs are working on a fix so overall great ROM.

Awesome, I hadn't tested this one personally ^_^
The only issue I've encountered since flashing last night is during one phone call, the screen did not light up when I moved it away from my face. I made another call right after that, and it worked fine, so perhaps it was just a fluke.
Loving the customizations. I've missed using a good non-stock ROM. Is there a dark mode built in or just CM themes for that?
CM theme engine
Rock on Superfes! Thanks man
First of, this is my favorite ROM yet! So many customizations! And that awesome boot screen! Thank you for building/sharing.
I gave this a go yesterday on the 3/8 nightly. Google now crashed after doing the ok Google thing consistently, and system ui crashed a couple times. I'm giving it another go today. This is too good not to keep playing with, I'm downloading the 3/9 right now, I'll leave some notes after a days use.
Thanks again!
How is the cell signal on this rom??? I want a cm rom with good signal strength. I'm tired of a lot of cm based roms having the cell drop issue

So after using this today, I get the same lag with notifications shade, recents, and lockscreen. Google now still crashing with ok Google commands using latest open gapps nano. Google now does the voice commands just fine, I wouldn't know if I didn't get the little sorry Google now crashed message.
Same story I had with AOKP pretty much.
Overall I love both the ROMs, I'm looking forward to improvements with the lag stuff. Being nightlies I hope that comes around.

Slightly worse than stock, but not by much. Maybe a 10-15db difference.

I've got the same issue. It only happens for me with Google on Tap. If I'm in the Google app, then it seems to work fine.
There's a little bit of lag, other than that, good rom
I've updated to the 09 March ROM. When I choose to "Hide sensitive notifications" on the Lockscreen, my notifications are also hidden while I'm unlocked. If I "Show all notifications" then it shows them again while unlocked. This did not happen on the 08 March ROM.
EDIT: After another short, 2 minute, phone call, the screen did not turn back on after moving it away from my face. I used the power button to turn it back on and end the call. I made another call after that, also under 2 minutes, and it worked fine.
I have one issue with this. The lock screen has a lot of lag. Not sure if I'm missing something but its super laggy and sometimes not responsive.

I have two thoughts for you. First, I would like to ask you to please make a post or something when you update the ROM, that way, those of us subscribed to this thread will get a notification about it. Secondly, I'm glad to see you drop dev-host from your mirrors. I will offer you the option to use my personal site for mirroring, if you'd like. It's a very fast server with no bandwidth or storage limit or ads. Let me know what you think.

Whipped this up in about 10 minutes. There's room for screenshots in the header. Download speed is pretty zippy right now.
EDIT: I can't check for a title change everyday. Either make a post or PM me when there's an update, and I'll add it to the mirror, or I'll update it whenever I notice it.

Thank you Fester! It's almost there with the lags, huge improvement. I'm going to hold off for a couple more builds, soon hopefully it will be as smooth as cm13

About Carbon
CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.
Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.
We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.
Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.
While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.
FeaturesSimply stated, we can't really list features here. There are too many and they change too frequently, and we now support a truly insane number of devices. Chances are, if you like a feature, we have it already. Seriously.

Both nightly and release builds are available. Please note that nightlies are for development purposes. Thanks for a good ROM. I always like the slim roms. Initial lollipop build, my experience : mobile data wont work, some random reboots, cannot sync google account(this one i am not sure, may be i did something wrong, gapps package may be). The rom is awesom. This is just a initial release, waiting eagerly for builds with issues fixed as much as possible. Devs take a bow :good:

Hi @xenon92,
I am one of the slimrom follower. Really looking into your build. But as I need to use my device as daily driver, in on blisspop now. But still keeping my hope on your slim build to get more stable, at least for daily use.
And I'm not gonna ask for any ETA's as all aware of the rule, but it's been a while since your last post here. So, I just wanna know, are we still building this rom? If we are, I'm happy to lend any help in my free time, if possible. I'm no dev, jut like to read a lot about android and "deving", just don't have right hardware to do so.
So, any help in need, let me know.
Good day.

What's Broken:
You tell me.
ROMS
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy L. Remember to download your Gapps from Basketbuild

Fixes for Common Issues
Fixes for Common issues
That roaming issue:
Some people get it, others don't. But the system will stay in roaming mode unless in an LTE area.
Fix: Set your mobile network mode to CDMA+LTE/EvDO, go to APN Settings > Menu > Reset, then restart the phone after it completes.

0.0 That was quick. Anyways, it really didn't take much to build it, minus the fact that I don't have the resources like the big guys.

I'm now tempted to set it up so I've got weeklys for a few ROMs on here. Would be nice to have a bit of variety.
I should probably keep an eye on download stats...

Adding screenshots right now! Also, if you have the current CyanogenMod 12 build, it should flash fine over it. I haven't had any issues. (Dirty flashing FTW!)
love AICP!! Thanks so much for bringing it!! Agreed, certainly great to have more variety here
When removing music fx apk there are two which one is linked to playing the audio(codec) when both removed music player or any audio player won't play only MX player with custom codec plays , I'm trying to get project era installed I have it installed perfectly on 5.0.1 I have already set selinux to permissive , what can I do? So far this ROM works great only one with more settings and customizations , only WiFi has a problem when reconnecting to already save connections

Just to verify, issue 1:
- You're trying to install Project Era (the soundmod)
- You've removed/disabled AudioFX
- No sound/audio of any sort unless using MX Player with a custom codec
Issue 2:
- WiFi won't connect to saved connections
General Questions:
- What firmware?
- What kernel (default/custom)?
- Did you do a dirty flash or a clean one?
Issue 1: By taking a look at it, it seems as though Project Era doesn't support CyanogenMod. MX Player works because it bypasses AudioFX and goes straight to the audio core (ALSA) to produce the sound. I don't even know where to start, but you should ask the author of the SoundMod to take a look. Have you tried using the Cyanogen Nightlies being posted? Does it work on that?
Issue 2: I don't even know where to begin. Try 'forgetting' the network and adding it back. Otherwise, I'm clueless as I don't have the issue on my m7spr.
The more specific info I can get the better! Hope I helped.

Mobile network needs to be set to CDMA+LTE
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Free mobile app
Yes I am trying to install project era on this aicp ROM , I have all up to date firmware ,I have had this successfully installed on lollipop and cm only thing that needs to be removed ( I used titanium backup which works well) is audiofx but in your ROM there is a audiofx and musicfx which basically are the same when removing them even one by one I lose sound (codec) can't play, also selinux needs to be set to permissive or su won't work , and the WiFi I have disconnected and forgot network , I have had this issue with sense Roms since they don't have a dedicated WiFi connect ability like aosp Roms, I'm thinking it has to do with avoid poor connection settings maybe there is a way to lower the standard

Going through the apps list should help, also to disable the mobile radio you can enable Airplane Mode and enable WiFi afterwards.
Also, can you please try to clean up your questions? The way you're currently formatting them makes it difficult to read and thus making it difficult to respond to.

I am checking out Textra. Does it store a backup? I don't see any backup/restore options. I like to make and restore SMS backups switching between ROMs. I've always had problems with SMS backups switching between Sense and CM ROMs.

(This is a Copy and Paste from a Official Tread)
Brief Discription and History of the Team:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first created based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean because of curiosity. In the early days, it was just a one man show on one device (EVO 3D). However, many others have joined the project since and it has grown a lot. We have seen a wide variety of talent contribute to this project of ours and many of our contributors have gone on to help other projects, and that is ultimately why we do what we do.
Once Jelly Bean was over, we decided in Kitkat to move to a new base, which was OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting because it challenged us to see what we could with something different.
With Lollipop, we have moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. With that said, it has been an awesome learning experience and it's still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward.
Few more things we will say is that we don't accept nor ask for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc.....
All we do ask is that you search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

I too installed DU, and liking it very much so far. Everything seems to work, and snappier than earlier versions of CM12.1
I'm not sure this has anything to do with your AdAway app problem, but FYI, this ROM has a built-in Ad Blocker. It's under settings, Dirty Tweaks, System.

hmm so whats wrong?
its happend in LuquidSmooth too...
but works well in cm12.
Guys this issue has been brought up on G+ and Alex replied back that the reason it is failing is to many people are trying to update at one time. Try again later and it will update. Adaway tries to apply the host files but yeah it don't stick because this ROM has its own. So if you use this feature use the built in one.

Kick ass ROM man. Thanks!
I'm having lockscreen issues that are making this barely usable. Whenever I turn the screen on to the lock screen, it is unresponsive. I can turn it off and back on and the lock screen is translucent, then off and back on again, and the lockscreen is responsive again. However, about every other time, the lockscreen will become unresponsive again, and will restart the system UI, which takes around 30-40 seconds. Other than that, the ROM is mostly good. It is a bit choppy on mine at times (I am on KKBL), but usable. Is there any future for incorporating kernel controls into this ROM? I have setCPU, which has allowed me to change some parameters that made it a bit smoother (it was VERY choppy at the beginning), but this is a very difficult daily driver for me at this point.

Thank you! Happy '17! I've always liked Carbon ROM.
Looks amazing! I was never crazy about the AOSP look but I've gotten more used to it since the pixel is so close to being stock. Time to root and install TWRP finally. Love all the customization options especially the menu bar at the bottom.
Just curious what the Gapps issues are exactly because I've seen some other people mention them but didn't really go into detail.
Thanks!

What's up with the Gapps thing. Do we flash after or are they built in.
@Myself5, may I have 2 questions:
1) Which gApps should I download for the Pixel sailfish? I tried all combinations of ARM and ARM64, but they all failed to install due to "gApps size too large, try smaller gApps".
2) The ROM seems to get installed to the inactive slot on its own. If I set slot A to be active, Carbon is installed to B. Then I turned around and made B active on a different Pixel, it installed to A, and booted into A.
Thanks!
This is rather nice to see. Thanks for your hard work.

They don't go into detail for a reason. The cause is, as far as I am informed, more or less unknown.
TWRP is suspected to be the cause at the moment, but I don't know much more either ATM. I'd, by guessing assume that it might be a mix of TWRP and the GApps installers that struggle with the AB system, but I don't know for sure.
I do know, that when installing a build with builtin GApps (we can't officially provide builds like this) its working, which is why I'll upload some unofficial builds with builtin Gapps until the issues are solved.

1) None ATM, even when hacking the Installer they seem to dissapear on boot. (See above for more Info).
2) The ROM installs to both slots, and then boots to one that wasnt selected previously, for whatever reason (might be TWRP related or Installer related (the pixel installer zips are really goofy) or even bootloader related, I can't tell for sure).
A Featurelist will be coming soon, please bear with us on that. We hard a very hard time even hitting our release deadline which was supposed to be the 31th of December 2016 but jenkins started to be very picky so all time to prepare threads on XDA and changelogs and stuff went down for jenkins. This thread for example is based on one of my old unofficial Note 10.1 threads, with very small changes. We will rework those later this week too. There was just no time at 4AM this morning to do so

So it installs to both slots does that mean it uses double storage space

It's the same setup you have now being stock. There are 2 of a few different folders including /system which is where the software is stored. No difference
It's good to see Carbon around!!!!
In anticipation of this becoming available for Marlin soon, I have a couple questions.
1) Does this have Slim Recents? I didn't see it listed on the features page.
2) I notice on the features webpage that it has light/dark theme options. Is it the one that can be set to automatically change? If so, does it have auto day/night Substratum support or does it only use the built in theme?

Pixel related info: Due to yet to be fixed issues, manually flashing GApps on the Pixel builds is not working on all ROMs. The GApps will be gone after booting. I'll might release an unofficial build with GApps included soon.

Yep, that's how DU and AOSiP are doing it for the moment.
Built-in. I didn't think it was possible to flash gapps at all, let alone have them install and then go away after reboot.

It's good to see Carbon around!!!!
In anticipation of this becoming available for Marlin soon, I have a couple questions.
1) Does this have Slim Recents? I didn't see it listed on the features page.

1) No.
2) The feature page is outdated, but will be updated later this day.
The ROM is having full substratum support, you only need to root and install substratum.

Will provide a build in the next days.
Flashing GApps "worked" after some dirty hacks to the installer Well... "working" as far as "it was there and then dissapeared after the boot" can be defined
Are there "legal" reasons Gapps can't be built in or something? Just curious because I've always wondered how it's OK to release some builds with them built in
