Hello there,
I am looking for a solution to backup all settings from my current build ROM like touch, ringtone, disabling vibrate, settings edited in dev options, all of my accounts ....etc so that if i switch to a new ROM i can easily import all those settings and don't need to keep on changing all settings one by one manually(i can hardly remember what changes i made ).
Is there any script or app available to backup all settings?
Thanks for reading waiting for a reply..

Hi!
I have questions about more ROMs. I tested the last time nearly every ICS-ROM. I hope that someone can help me....GALAXY S I9000
-CM9: Why there aren`t some options that in other ROMs are still exist for example AOKP? For example the option to change the lockscreen is not there yet
-AOKP: Every time i go to the option to edit the Lockscreen i get a FC of Rom-Control......why?
-From were i can find the Rom-Control.apk? Can i install it on every AOKP-Rom?
Thank you for your help!
I can't answer CM9 queries I haven't been on it yet, that is more of a feature request that you need to take up with them..
AOKP: What do you mean edit the lockscreen? Do you mean the wallpaper? That is now fixed, download the latest from my sig below.
Rom control should already be on every AOKP rom, so you shouldn't have to install it.
However if you still want it, it's located at /system/app
Hi Talon,
thank you for your answer.
I mean generell the option "Locksreen"....When i want to enter this option on the AOKP-build31 i get an FC from Rom-Control....
I really don`t understand the thing with CM9. I love Cyanogenmod but i want more customizable options that are included in AOKP
I just re-read the lockscreen thing for CM9. Are you sure it isn't there settings/security/screen lock
I think you need to re-flash AOKP possibly with wipe. But use titanium backup (seems to be more through sometimes) or via manage apps, find rom control and clear data. Hopefully that works otherwise you will possibly have to reflash.
Im using the lockscreen options on my phone right now, so it must just be your phone.
Hiii
I have a Droid XT883 flashed with chinese ROM, already most of bloat & chinese are removed but having below issues :
1. In email it shows all chinese email providers like netease, shina etc, I want to remove them & put verizon default
2. Calander doesn't work
3. In my contact list 3 contacts are there in chinese can't remove them
4. In social nework there is no Icons to create any account
5. Don't want moto chinese input option, need english version. Anyway this also works same if i draw alphabets but will prefer english version
6. some other app issues
I have my phone rooted, & all original stock APK & ODEX files extracted from verizon original droid 3 ROM which I downloaded from internet.
Please someone guide me how i can reinstall them,
I tried copying apk & odex file to memory & installing but installation failed. SWYPE installed but if I go to swype setting it crashes & ask for force close.
Please guide me.
Just use a GB ROM based off of stock.

If you have the apks you want to install you jusy drop them in /system/app, might have to remount it rw first. Otherwise take the easy way an install a verizon rom on it like MrObvious suggested.
Flash Liberty or Maverick or a similar ROM.

Hii
First I would say sorry for my delayed response, actually i didn't get any notification of your responses on my mail. Now only i was going through my post & saw ur comment.
As you know it's XT 883 so haven't been able to backup it yet with safestrap.
so won't dare to flash another ROM rightnow as some radio issue may come. I am on a CDMA network & in india most of these imported handsets won't work easily with CDMA. This one i got from ebay with CDMA activated.
I have been able to solve my chinese email problem, removed them, removed chinese contacts as well, removed moto chinese input & instead of swype installed touchpal. Got calendar working too. But now I got some other issues, I will be grateful if u could suggest some solution.
In my social networking account setting there is no icon to add any account it's just a blank page where is says tap on icon to add social account.
No sticky note, In my calendar if i check to show solar holiday or lunar calendar then below date it shows some unreadable font box which I don't like.
But i am loving this phone since the first day, and thank u all for this support forum.
Hello peoples,
[hope i am in the right section now?]
I love android but hate having to restore widgets over and over again (i flash a lot of different kernels and roms). Up till now i have never found a way to backup and restore the widgets in there former glory (location/size/settings). I use Titanium backup/restore but i found that only a nandroid restore really restores everything (and that is not something i can use when trying out new kernels and roms)
Am i missing something? (an app for instance that will really save position and settings of a widget? Or is it just a know shortcoming in android? I have used almost every launcher around but none of them restore widget (position/size/setting)
Can someone link me to some wisdom?
ps: i understa...alvik VM that hosts the widget position/size?
66 views so far but no response...? Anybody?
Cause no one knows even me but I believe if you copy launcher data using tb and restore it although I didn't try but let me guess that it works

I think this because of the launcher. If you use Apex for example and you make a backup via the app all the settings will be saved on to SD card. If you want to use another launcher with the same widgets you'll need to replace them since the data cant be restored from apex etc. Some apps can import settings from others but this will be said by the app it self.
Like i said, it depens on the launcher. Perhaps to ask one of the developers of the launcher for more information.

Hello,
Sorry if I'm not supposed to make a new thread, but I didn't know where I should ask a question.
I just clean installed CM10.1 RC2 on my captivate because my phone was getting really buggy. Everything works great and smoothly again, but I can't seem to find how to change the number of rows on my homescreen anymore. I thought it used to be under Settings --> Launcher --> Homescreen, but I don't see any options for changing number of grids anywhere. Did they remove this from RC2, or did they move the location of these settings? Or is it possible the settings didn't make it on my phone when I flashed for some reason?
I was previously on RC1, so I'm not sure what they updated in RC2. Please help me if you can. Thank you very much.

You need a 3rd party launcher, like Nova.
Hello everyone,
I'm using Resurrection Remix rom which is based on CM13, and I don't know where it'd be more appropriate to post about this so I do it here. A while ago I applied a CM theme, which turned the single-column Android Settings show as 2-column. It was ok, but I want it back to single column, and changing back to the original theme doesn't bring back the single column layout. Changing DPI settings doesn't help either. Any other ideas, apart from reflashing etc.? Maybe a config file/entry I can edit?
Thanks!
