The new firmware released http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...4g-xoom-galaxy-nexus-gms-and-lte-and-nexus-7/
According to JBQ, the most noteworthy change here is that the new binaries for the Nexus 7 "support GPS, and include a high-precision touchscreen firmware."
Question: If I'm using cyanogen nightlies, how should I update to this version?
P.S I hope this fixed deadspots and x/y axis problems

Weird, I had no issues whatsoever with touchscreen precision or gps. But since its a firmware issue I was hoping they would've fixed that vertical line across the screen thing...
Jog my memory here, it's been a while for me; ill lose root if I pull this OTA, right? Stock everything.
I just picked up a C90. My first tablet but not my first Nexus device. Funny enough I'm running JRO03S right out of the box...I would think this is newer yet then JRO03R.
So will this be in a future ota? These aren't for direct user consumption, rather components for ASOP.

Actually at some point they will be in an ota they are the binary bulbs tat make up some of the library files that aosp uses. But at this point if you want t use them you need to build aosp yourself to see the benefits.

JRO03R is available for AOSP. There is no OTA update for Nexus 7 yet, though many new ones ship with JRO03S and a dump is available here in the development section.
So i am getting this right as this is merely an update for the binaries and not a full update of the OS?
As i suffer from the usual Nexus 7 problems (Touchscreen Issue etc) i would like to install those binaries. Is this possible? I am on stock JRO03D 4.1.1 but rooted...
How could i manage (if it's possible) to install these binaries?

I believe on the last page somebody posted a link to a zip you can flash in Recovery.
The first (very mildly) customized ROM for NVIDIA SHIELD... Tweaker.
For those who tried SHIELD on launch day (or early on before the OTA was applied), it had a dashboard with bigger graphics that were easier to read. Now, it's just icons. I don't like the icons. So a little bit of hacking together pieces (and adding SuperUser while I was at it) resulted in TweakerRom.
Don't expect much difference, at least not until I get CM-10.2 done for SHIELD. But this has a nicer interface, in my opinion, and is based on the latest OTA 1.1 release (with the SHIELD UI from the original image)
You need to install a SuperUser app (I highly recommend SuperSU) but you don't need to use recovery to do it.

This is great! Will flash this tonight once I can get CWRM to flash properly in fastboot...
Awesome! I'm glad to see the first step being made, but I'm going to hold out until 10.2. I'm getting lazy in my old-ish age.:silly:
Sorry BUT:

I just finished Unlocking and Flashing your recovery when the download finished (YES I unlocked it just for this ROM). I have to say: I LOVE the interface, I never got to see it but it is SO much better! Thanks for pioneering the development over here, there isn't much at all... I plan to do some theming stuff once I get around to it XD

The SHIELD is a bit of an unusual exception here - most of their OTAs seem to be full system images, instead of delta patches.
While this makes the OTAs much larger, it also makes them much more robust.

I know this sounds dumb. What is the best way to install it. I have Twrp and my nexus is rooted. I know you wait you can install it from twrp, did you do it this way. and which build are you on with twrp, or should I go back to stock for the rom and the recovery first?
yeah., i did it this way using twrp 2.6.3.1 , to me it was the fastest way, since my windows 8 laptop is having some issues with the android files
3 more months of updates!
Yes! Google Nexus 7 getting KitKat. After this, we will have 3 more months of updates from Google before the tablet is considered to be at a dead end, like they did with the Galaxy Nexus. 18 months of updates from the date it was first released, then bye-bye.

The most interesting thing is the optimized ART runtime. It's enabled by default and works with much more apps now.

basically it's a mix between 4.4.3 and 4.5.
Google pushes core changes to master branch and hobby devs can use gerrit to merge changes into that branch.
The new features and UI changes are still closed source until google releases a new android update.

FAQ:
Will this fix my <non molly device>?
No, this rom is only for mollys, it will brick any other device.
Will OTAs work after flashing this?
Yes, that is the purpose of this
Do I need to be on a certain bootloader to use this?
No, it includes the original bootloader.
Do I need a custom recovery to flash this?
Yes, the stock recovery will not accept update zips that are not signed by google
Is this rooted?
No, the stock rom is not rooted, neither is this
My device won't finish booting after flashing.
If you were not originally on the same rom, you may need to do a factory reset to finish the process. Android does not like rom downgrades without a factory reset

Yes you need a usb keyboard to use CWM currently, there may be an update in the future to enable the dev button on the back to select in cwm like it does in fastboot. Until if/when that happens you either need a keyboard or to do everything manually via adb.
I don't have a keyboard however, I did all my work/testing with only adb.

Hello UD,
There isn't any custom roms for the ADT-1 (So yours would be the first)
I for one would love to see a more recent build than the last OTA (LPX13D - OCT 29th) There have been rumors that we'd get the final Android Lollipop but nothing has surfaced.
How much work is involved in rolling an AOSP+ADT-1 Binaries+Android TV dependencies?
Cheers Rob.

It's possible https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Og-GDeRhJno but I could not get all the apps correctly working the main one being playstore , but I will try again look at the android build number and build date. I basically made a google apps package based on the adt-1 this is before I had one so possibly now I can get us an aosp 5.0.2 base working the Mojo in terms of hardware is similar to the adt-1 and for me to boot 5.0 on the mojo I needed adt-1 updated tegra 4 binaries so this shouldn't be hard at all once I work out the playstore issues.
