Hi all.
HTC hero has 2 ways of showing homescreen - 'touchflo' and 'home' when using 'home', there are some wallpapers available that are not available when using 'touchflo'
Any ideas where these are?
If you use the 'locale' app and use it to change wallpaper - it lists this other gallery.
Cheers
Press the 'menu' key.
this only shows the touchflo wallpaper though....
I've always wondered about this.
It seems like the wallpaper gallery is seperate from the rest of the galleries you find in the album.
For some reason you can't set the lock screen to have an image from the wallpaper gallery that the home screen uses.
The Lockscreen wallpapers lie under /etc/lockscreen/port. Just copy them to the sdcard, and you should be able to pick those.
But I haven't found the standard Android wallpapers.. Could they be in an archive or something? Or on the sdcard, hidden in a temp folder?
edit: found out it's a pain in the ass-droid to copy those files to the sdcard, so I just uploaded them to the web: http://fluesoppen.com/android/lockscreens/
Is there any way for me to set my own wallpaper for my homescreen and lockscreen without using ICS's crappy cropping tool?
I know there's an app for your homescreen, but when it comes to lockscreen I can only go into the Themes app and set it from there. Even then, it is majorly zoomed in and blurry.
If it still like GB MIUI, go to lockscreen wallpaper in themes app and hit menu button, choose from gallery and there bam!

Click to collapse
OK, now it won't even show a crop tool. It just automatically does whatever it wants for the lockscreen wallpaper. When I try to change my homescreen wallpaper through this method it still uses ICS cropping.
Try the free app QuickPic- when you go to set your wallpaper, it should come up as an option alongside Gallery or whatever. It has its own cropping tool and recognizes your setting for wallpaper, i.e. non-scrolling (fixed) or scrolling (scaled across homescreens) and allows you to crop accordingly.
edit: I am on an AOKP-based ROM and the lockscreen option lets you choose which cropping tool to use- not sure if your ROM will allow this...
I've downloaded the new Pixel Livewallpapers and I was able to set it on my homescreen. But When I try to set it on my lockscreen, it doesnt show the livewallpapers. Only the normal wallpapers.
Set oxygen OS bootanimation as live wallpaper. Tested on Redmi 4x. Should work on any Android phone.
This is the first time I'm sharing something. And I'm not a native English speaker. So, pardon me for any mistake.

GIF Live Wallpaper Setting. Sets GIF to live wallpaper
How to set:
Download the GIF file from this link: Oxygen OS 3 GIF file Google Drive link
Download this GIF Live wallpaper Setting App (Aka Simple Wallpaper) from play store This app needs internet connection to work but sets high resolution wallpaper.
OR
Download this app It works without internet connection but compresses the gif therefore sets low resolution wallpaper.
Open the Simple Wallpaper App and tap on the icon labeled as "GIF" (as the first screenshot below).
Then tap on the upper right corner of the GIF file you downloaded to select it and tap on the tic mark (as shown on the second screenshot). It's necessary to tap on the corner , not in the middle.
Now change the "speed" option from Default to "Max" and tap on the zoom out button to have a better view. ( I prefer taping 4 times) Then select the tic mark at the bottom-right corner and confirm by taping on "OK".
And the wallpaper is ready on your Home screen.
To use the other app that works without internet connection see the last screenshot
