[Q] StockROM?

Hello!
Im new to android story so please excuse my stupid questions.
I would like to install the barest version of gingerbread on my phone. Where to find it? Im not clear if stock mod is what i have on my phone now (original) or is it android without the preinstalled apps that i cant uninstall? I Would like the version without any preinstalled apps.
And since im meddling with my phone, what do you think is the best kernel to use with bare gingerbread?

Gingerbread is Android 2.3. The S Advance has Android 4.1.2 available for it (AKA Jellybean). Follow the above guide to upgrade to Jellybean, and if you want you can also install a custom kernel or ROM.
Stock ROM Gingerbread 2.3.6

Stock Rom is a System Rom which comes preinstalled in your particular android device when you buy it. Stock Rom is preinstalled by the manufacturer of that particular device such as Samsung, Nokia, Sony etc.
If you have Gingerbread 2.3.6 just do a factory reset and from Settings > Application Manager > force stop unwanted apps.
What you want is unclear in your post. What I could realize from your writing that you want a fresh Gingerbread to flash your device.
You can download official Gingerbread 2.3.6 from here. Choose OS version 2.3.6
where do u live? what is the official release for your device there?

Thank you for your replies people.
What I want is to install fresh gingerbread, but some kind of bare version, non samsungs version like i have now. Without preinstalled apps that i cant uninstall. Is that even possible?
What im asking is how is such bare version called and where to find it? and since im doing that i thought i could upgrade kernel but i m new to whole meddling with android thing so i thought i could ask which kernel is good to use with this version of gingerbread?
I live in croatia. There is no croatian version on the page above, besides, those are all samsung versions, like the original on my phone, right?
By bare version, I'm guessing you mean like stock android version like the nexus have. Unfortunately for this device, we don't have the stock android firmware. For GB, even the custom roms you found here is based on stock samsung firmware. So, there will be some samsung apps preinstalled in the custom rom.
If you upgrade to Jellybean 4.1.2, you can try the latest CM 10.1 nightlies (although it is not recommended for newbies, as it is still test builds but has gotten to a pretty stable version). Cyanogen (CM) roms are built from source and it is very similar to stock android interface.

Thanks. Thats what i wanted to know.
I ended up on this forum becouse i wanted to install new cyanogen, but after some reading here it seems that GB is still better option in terms of battery and performance. So i concluded that best bet would be gingerbread without the bloatware. Maybe ill try some GB based rom.
Anyway, i hope this information will be useful to someone else also. Or delete the thread if thats the practice on this forum.
One last question. Im pretty sure i know the answer but better be safe. If I root my phone, i will be able to unistall all the apps that were preinstalled that i cant uninstall now?

Yes, you can. You're granted with superuser access by rooting your phone. So you will be able to remove any app and play with your device anyway you want. :good:
Rooting Gingerbread is a bit tricky for newbies. Follow the guide in the following link

[Q] SGH-I537- aosp/google edition ROM? KK!

Im desperately in search of a way I can flash a GPE Rom onto the ATT (i537) variant s4active. I HATE the whole touchwiz UI. and I have tried removing it manually, by replacing stock TW apps with google apps and uninstalling TW apps. But I want the whole enchilada. The SystemUI and interface of the Google Play edition s4 active. I know they have roms for the international version. but is there anyone out there that knows how I can get a stock google android rom onto my device.
im running 4.4.2 NC9 rooted and with safestrap.
I know theres like a kernel difference in aosp roms so idk how it all works. I would just love to take off touchwiz completely. any help would be greatly appreciated.
sorry if I offend anyone on here. since it seems like everyones so touchy about things posted here... so if I put this question in the wrong place or something, sorry.

The short answer to your question is that you can't, you're stuck with TouchWiz until the bootloader is unlocked. The reason for this is that the bootloader checks files you try to flash to the phone to make sure they are signed by Samsung. In order to use something other than a TouchWiz rom on the i537, you need to flash a different kernel. And since other kernels aren't signed by Samsung it will fail to flash.
The GPE for 4.2.2 that you are referring to was able to use the existing Samsung stock kernel, so it seemed that you were using an AOSP ROM, but it was still using Samsung's kernel. The newer GPE roms (4.3 and 4.4.2) can no longer utilize the stock Samsung kernel so they are non-functional. Unfortunately since you're on 4.4.2 you have the new bootloader and there is no way to downgrade back to 4.2.2 and use the GPE rom. Your only option at this point is to use the stock rom or find a compatible rom that you can live with until somebody figures out how to unlock the bootloader (hopefully in August).

[Q] What ROM is ideal for minimalistic user

A while back I deleted my PlayStore app and I did custom recovery on stock rom. Correct me if ik wrong please, but if I flash a new ROM I can install gapps and thus clean installing Google applications including Play Store?
Another reason why I would want to flash a new ROM is because I am tired of TouchWiz and its bloatware.
I did some research on the ROMs category but it is incomprehensible to me as I am a n00b.
I know CYANOGEN is not compatible with my phone. Which sucks because its just what im looking for.
Is there any similar rom out there that has a minimalistic approach or perhaps stock Android OS?
I am on 4.4.2 (N900AUCUCNC2)

OTA Update and V10 camera question.

Wanting to goo ahead and update. But why pretty much having to lose all my data anyway to restore root street update I am wondering something else. As it is the device has a lot of bloatware and I am entertaining just installing a stock Android ROM. My question is though,: I know on a custom ROM you can't use the stock LG camera due to it lacking the correct certificates or something similar. However will a stock Android ROM have those and allow me to just aside load the camera as a system app?
If not something else I am curious about: had anyone had success changing camera shortcut volume key on the G4 to another app and have it unlock the screen properly like the stock camera? Closest I have seen is the G4tweaksbox but after launching you still have to unlock the phone which defeats the purpose all together.

you mean the framework. its not present in CM or AOSP roms. well it is its just missing stock Lg binaries i think... and wuality isnt the same..
for data you could try titanium if you root it..
custom roms thers 2 types.. the ones based on stock firmware they just add a few thing maybe debloated and mods.. its the same as stock rom but with goodies.. then we have cm13 MM and AOSP roms that do not have the stock framework. like for example MM 20i stock firmware it eill tell you 20i.. if aosp it will be mentioned in thread of rom...

stock debloated means some LG apps removed or from carrier.. maybe no you tube,no chrome ect.
not sure if it will work.. if camera says aosp or CM then it must be used . if it says stock based then stock firmware or any custom rom based on stock firmare..
not sure about camera if you have link i can take a look at it..
see pictures it tells you what kind of rom is it. some doesnt have it but it should say in title..
I'm not sure if you still need a bit of help with this, but if you're looking for a stock Android ROM, download an AOSP or CM ROM, install it, then if you're simply worried about camera quality, download this and install with TWRP... http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/themes-apps/app-snap-camera-lg-g4-t3286259 ... This will replace CM's camera and replace it with one that should be optimised for the G4. I used it and personally did not see any difference between this and the stock camera. I personally am not currently using CM on my G4 because I was having troubles with it managing my mobile data, but that may be fixed by now or it may have been on my end when it happened. Hope this helped!

[Q] Stock Rooted (prolly .. slimmed down ) ROM for the Nexus

Hey all
ssup ?
Well I tried searching the forum but somehow wasn't able to find any .....
Nougot based TWRP flash-able , Stock , Rooted Rom for the Nexus
Its nexus so there are no so called bloats in it but still if someone might have made a slimmer rom out of stock , i would love to have that along with proper flashing instructions.
Currently my phone has the latest nightly from Lineage , but i want to experience stock rooted
Thanks in advance
EDIT had another closer look and found that the this ROM has a nougot variant too
[ROM][Stock+][N6F26R-MOB31K]Prerooted-Debloated-Odex-Busybox-Fast & Stable
But still would appreciate if you folks could chip in with your suggestions as well
An easy way to have a slim stock rom is just use the Nexus toolkit, go back to stock rooted and use something like Titanium Backup to delete the apps you don't want/need. That's what I've done and use my N6 without a Sim card as an offline navigation and music player with Here Maps and Google Music. I use to build slim ROMs for the HTC Rezound back in the day... Maybe if I can get a few free minutes I could cook up a slim flashable stock rom. No promises though as I tend to work 6 days a week anymore.
