How are you unlocking? I never ticked "allow oem unlock" when I unlocked my device. I got it out of the box, booted into the bootloader and unlocked it

via fastboot, while ypu are connected to a computer and are in your bootloader, you type.. fastboot oem unlock. this will unlock your bootloader(and will wipe your whole phone.
and while you are in fastboot and connected to a computer while in your bootloader, type.. fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img. to flash a recovery.
AND.. welcome to xda
What he said ^^^^^
Or you can use one of the toolkits. Personally, I prefer the method via fastboot. You will learn more by doing it "the old fashioned" way. And yes, welcome to XDA!

One thing to add this, starting with the Nexus 6 and 9 you need to boot into the phone, unlock developer options, and flip the switch on "allow OEM Unlock." Otherwise the oem unlock command in fastboot will fail.

If you intent to flash a lot of roms keep "OEM unlocking" enabled in developer options!!! If will safe you from being locked out from your google account for 72 hours inn case google finds your login attempts suspicious

I haven't found a bad one. Chroma, Cataclysm, Pure Nexus, Xtra smooth, many others. Try different ones to get a feel for what they do. You will discover that each has its own focus and ways of doing things.

Hi i have problem ... successfull rooting but after reboot phone was FRP lock

Hello guys i would like to ask for a solution for this .. im using twrp recovery and super su to root my phone which it rooted successfully , but my problem is that after i turn off my phone and on again it says "Custom Binary Blocked By FRP Lock" and cannot do anything but to install new firmware..
i really want to root my phone but im afraid it will just turn the same thing frp lock and im tired installing another firmware.
is there another option to bypass the frp for example in Android Device Manager which there is a key to unlock it or in My Samsung Account? other than installing new firmware.
my phone info:
samsung sm-j106b
google account was active while rooting
samsung account was active while rooting

Did you enable oem unlocking? On most Samsung devices enabling oem unlocking removes frp lock.

LS991ZVC Has OEM bootloader unlock?

Is this normal? I checked my developer options today and I have that option... does that mean I can put a different bootloader on here and root it?
Thanks!

No Cannot downgrade to root Only thing oem unlock does is disable FRP and a couple other security features But No good on the root or anything.

Oem unlock issue

I have SAMSUNG j600f I wanted to root my device but boot loader is locked so I had to wait for a week. Then I got oem unlock option is developer mode but as I enable it says your device will erase all data and I continue after erase everything boot on again and there is no oem available again I mean it disappeared again. Plz tell me what should I do will I have to wait again for 7 days?

Some ROMs hide the OEM setting once the bootloader is unlocked, because this setting is now meaningless. If you were to relock your bootloader (not recommended unless you revert entirely to stock, system and recovery), you'd see the option again.
Edit: this should have been posted to your device's q&a thread instead of here.

I have no idea. I'd never buy a device that I cannot boot unlock or that makes me to through hoops to unlock.
