wow thanks bro! I really apreciate it! can you please try this app too https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=troop.com.freedcam&hl=en and try to capture raw picture Im planning to get a new phone next week and this is one of my choices if it can capture raw
I guess mi5 doesn't shoot in raw :/
Try the raw cam for mi2/mi3 and see if it works, my mi3 failed the tests but did capture raw via that app
There is a permission issue with MIUI and the manual camera compatibility test app. I tested with Mi 3 and Mi Note, both of which support Manual controls with RAW file format and the app says otherwise. Even the Mi 5 supports all manual controls i tested on the review unit. But am not sure about RAW, but it should support.

Yes! I am, I did that app right in the beginning but I couldn't open the created .raw files.
I don't like to offer workarounds and so didn't add this information. You will have to wait for someone else to help you. Someone who knows more about this.

Do you have the latest MIUI Global Stable version installed? I was thinking maybe a software update could enable RAW functions in the Mi5.
I'm interested in buying a new phone after the death of my G4(RIP) and choices atm are Mate 8 vs P9 vs Mi5.
How is your 64GB Mi5 variant going? Is it fast and stable for daily usage?

Do you know the differences, if any, between the china rom and the international global rom in terms of performances? I can't seem to find any threads on the forum comparing these two....
I dont get it... OnePlus 3 comes with the same sensor AND it supports RAW output. Why doesn't Xiaomi offer the same?

I havent tried the global rom. Mine came with a china rom that was modified to have a google apps preinstalled, and others call it a FAKE rom or unofficial rom.
Anyway here are my thoughts about global, china, and xiaomi.eu(which I am using atm) in terms of performance:
China:
-lots of bloats causes memory hog
-frequent updates than global
-better battery life than global(really)
-has a different power saving approach than global(I think better, I would say)
Global:
-google apps causes battery life and drain problems as other's reported
-more fluid than china because of less bloats
-has the default Doze of MM working imo
Xiaomi.eu
-best of both china and global rom combined
-this rom is based on china rom thats why it has frequent updates
I hope that helps

The bigger issue is the camera in my opinion. Third-party-apps produce the same images on OOS and CM13.
But compared to the Oxygen OS camera app, they all look worse.
Unfortunately, without the stock camera app we will never get the superior postprocessing for photos on cm13.
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...roms-stock-camera-app-for-custom-roms.456213/
Let's just hope the ongoing port will be ready eventually.
I don't really believe that OnePlus might release the app so that custom-rom users can use it too.

Why don't you provide a convincing comparison with uncompressed full size images?
I've tried flashing it but it did not work. The files were missing.
edit: After testing this apk https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/htc-corporation/htc-camera-new/htc-camera-new-8-10-763406-release/
It does not even come. Also the dev is banned from XDA, so I guess I should rather pass on the flashable zip after one failure.

yeah, apart from the HDR+ from rear cam, the app is still far behind from the OOS camera app. Even the front cam quality is blurry and grainy compared to the OOS camera. I'd just use this app for the picture taking from the rear cam, rest all the functionalities would still be handled by the OOS camera. :silly:

Hey! In post https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a2/how-to/dual-camera-properly-phone-t3838935
I talked about double camera in MI A2 do not work like many people imagine. Can you check how it is in camera app from MIUI? Is photos in dark scenes looks better? Is second camera use more often to reduce noise? Is movie quality with HDR looks better (is there option with 60fps and HDR?)?
Most test/benchmarks don't focus that firmware between MIUI camera and Android one is different and they treat this phones like one. I think it's big propbility that MI 6x makes better photos than A2.
It will be great if someone will make little tests )
Does this installation of Mi 6x camera overwrites (replace) default one camera of Mi A2, or it just add another camera app ?
I do not want to mess with the system again, because I want OTA updates.
And people we need information from camera 2 probe of Mi 6x, to see if the Mi 6x has on default better Hardware level support category.
Mi A2 has last category - "Legacy"
Then there is:
-"Limited"
-"Full"
- "Level 3" (camera2 which google cam uses).
S9 Category level is "Full".
So, maybe Mi 6x has different category level then Mi A2, and in collaboration with Mi 6x camera app produce better photos.

Could you please put a screenshot from app "camera 2 probe", you can install it from gplay.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.weis.camera2probe
As you can see on the following screenshot, I do not have DV logo in Netflix. Only HDR logo. I thought mi 11 Ultra was supposed to be able to view content in Dolby Vision? Or am I incorrect?
Also it's not a problem with my subscription, I have the right one. On my Sony TV I do have Dolby Vision in Netflix app... Not sure what the issue is here. In DRM info app, Dolby Vision support is not detected either. Only HDR, HDR10+, HLG

Maybe Netflix needs to be updated to include the mi 11 ultra as well in the compatible device list.
Last time i checked they have a list somewhere and if the device is not there ( even tough it supports the standard ) it won't work

True for Netflix. But if the DRM Info app doesn't detect Dolby Vision on the device, then the problem must be with the phone, right? I tried playing some Dolby Vision content I happen to have in Kodi, and it doesn't play in DV either.
My guess is, Xiaomi needs to provide a software update that enables DV support.
Mine shows Dolby vision, the latest Netflix app and 12.5.6 firmware.
Update:
Dolby Vision support seems to be enabled on Xiaomi.EU ROM 12.5.7
Can't understand why you guys are trying to use the Chinese ROM outside china tbh

There are some option yes BUT, for my Chinese version eu "Stable" rom, its not that good option.
The miui 13 stable release, is not stable at all. So have to stay on miui 12.5.20, which is the most stable.
So for me, i have 1 option if i want my phone stable, or as stable i can get it, this includ i have to stay on A11... STILL.

The miui 13 stable release, is not stable at all. So have to stay on miui 12.5.20, which is the most stable.
So for me, i have 1 option if i want my phone stable, or as stable i can get it, this includ i have to stay on A11... STILL.

Hello
Does anyone know the well-functioning GCam for Xiaomi 12 Pro?
Good config is welcome.
(PL - Witam Czy ktoś zna dobrze działający GCam do Xiaomi 12 Pro? Dobra konfiguracja jest mile widziana.)
There is no dedicated app or config file for Xiaomi 12 Pro. We need to wait.
Try Gcam from BSG or any new version from other modder, it works but photos are not better than from Xiaomi app.
PL - nie ma i chuj xD
Really? Go, go developers ;-)
PL - Szkoda... Trzymaj się hehe.

Config attached (Ported base from 11U)
Thank you, I'll be testing soon.

Have you imported the config properly?
With this XML, i get 2x more detail and less noise compared to stock.

Selfie has improved a lot, thanks for the file, I was already extremely sad about the stock selfie.
Thanks for the config file i just installed Gcam and this file. I have to say this is night and day compared to the stock Xiaomi camera app.
There are far more small fine details on Gcam that are completly gone on stock Xiaomi camera app.
the only thing that disappoints me about Gcam is that you can't record in HEIC. But you can record in RAW. Does anyone know of an APP to convert RAW to HEIC?
Just some tests :
Low light condition, 2 photos taken with 2s interval only.
This is a screenshot that have been taken and cropped the same way on both pictures.

Try the Parrot's one (the up-to-date versions can be found in the Telegram chanel). From my experience, his mods are the most polished and well balanced.

One of the advantages of Parrot's mods is that they usually work well without model-specific configs.

Some people on the comments on Telegram are saying not working with Xiaomi i don't know why.
I actually downloaded and tested the latest version of the telegram chanel you have provided and i've got very bad results it's even worst than Xiaomi i got less details.
So i reinstalled the version that was provided at the start of this thread.

No i just properly uninstalled the MTSL version and manually deleted some remining folders before installing the Parrot version.
But i didn't change any settings with the Parrot version when i tried it.
If someone find a way to actually obtain good results with the Parrot version please let us know.
