Does anyone know if there are any USB ethernet adapters that work with these units? I have a couple of Joying 3188 units. I would like to use ethernet if possible on them so I can connect them to a hotspot I have that has an ethernet hub.
I was just going to buy a couple of try them, but perhaps someone can save me the time?

Do a search on my nick and you will find a hub that works. Or go here: Gigabit USB 2.0 ethernet adapter works 100%. I've only tested the two rear USB ports. http://plugable.com/products/usb2-e1000

any results for it??
OTG adapter fits, but the jump drive doesnt light up, indicating its not being powered, no recognition. but I am sure that there is an OTG chip on the device though. otherwise they would have a standard mini-a usb port.
where can i find an OTG adaptr??
Mine came with a set of usb adapters, for 20$ I can hook anything TO anything!!!
Although google is your best bet.
I also read that the chipset used in this PDA should have support for OTG USB, and that OTG is controlled by 1 pin on the USB connector, and that HTC might
have left it unconnected..
would be possible to connect it and have OTG functionalities?
Otherwise does it exist something like bluetooth hubs which transform usb devices into bluetooth?
I had an ASUS USB ethernet adapter sitting around and thought I'd see if it worked with the Z2. Plugged in a USB OTG cable and the ethernet adapter, turned off wi-fi, and surfed away on the LAN. Of course not a common need but I thought I'd share my results for those that might be somewhere with only a wired connection.

Nice one. But one question which asus adapter did you get I'm on ebay and I'm seeing several models. Can you post the model number on yours seems like some have different chipsets on them and I wanna make sure I order the right one. Thanks.
Any answer to this? I am looking at purchasing the Z2 and wired ethernet is a need for me.
Since there was no reply updating this I have ordered one off eBay and will report which one it is and if it works or not when I receive it.
The one I ordered off eBay worked fine for me. This is the eBay link -http://m.ebay.com/itm/261423773411?_mwBanner=1
It's an Original OEM Asus USB to RJ45 Ethernet Lan Adapter Part #90-XB3900CA00000 for those that find this after that eBay link is dead.
Just for reference, I initially purchased one off Amazon that was not an Asus brand and it didn't work... I believe it was made by CableMatters.
I recently bought an USB OTG cable and a USB 2.0 to Fast Ethernet Adapter off of eBay. The OTG cable works fine with my mouse and keyboard, but the ethernet adapter does not work with the OTG cable. Does the P7 support ethernet via USB, or maybe is it the ethernet adapter's problem? If it is, then can anyone recommend an adapter that's guaranteed to to work?
Thanks!
I only found this thread for the Asus Transformer, but of course it's not guaranteed to work on the P7 too.
Maybe you can borrow from someone else to try?
edit: should have added the link hehe http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1781618

Actually, yes you can! I just got my otg adapter today and it works perfectly. 100mbits ethernet is much better than my flaky 2.4ghz 54gbit connection. I have a lot of wifi ap's in my neighborhood, so there's a lot of interference.
Look over here for the parts/guide:
productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chromecast/xo_NDh5CZA8 :highfive:
Product USB VID/PID Link
Linksys USB300M
Linksys USB3GIG
Apple (A1227)
BobjGear USB to RJ45
D-Link DUB-E100 0b95:7720
Could you argue how you use such adapter? You mean that plugging it on a Chromecast (using the necessary adapters) it just works?

Actually I guess only using another WiFi Access Point which you would bridge to the current WiFi...or you may consider a Wireless Repeater/Extender with all the side effects.

If you follow the URL he provided you will see it requires a Powered OTG cable to supply power and plug in the USB to Ethernet adapter.
And I probably would be sure to buy only one of those adapters that are listed as others may not be recognized by the device correctly.

Thanks right, it just works.
To make sure it's only using the hardwire, I enabled a mac filter list on my wifi ap and blocked the chromecast's wireless mac address.
has same questions as yours, but now it already being solved.
It appears that the CC can connect via wired ethernet quite easily. A post today on the Australian Whilpool forum describes how it's done. Please see http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2418159&#bottom

A lot cheaper than the adapter Google is selling. Also, you'll only have to buy a Y USB cable other than the USB to Ethernet adapter.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/07/08/google-releases-a-15-ethernet-adapter-for-chromecast/
Here in Canada I can't acquire the official Google adapter for less than $50. Fortunately it turns out I already have a Linksys USB3GIG so I'm ordering the Y-cable from Amazon.ca. Decided to splurge on an $8 one that will ship in two days instead of the $3 that ships from Asia.
Very interesting thing ... I have a zone in the house with an old-ish TV and very very low WiFi ... I will try to Ethernet connection myself ... Thank you for the news I had no idea .

So I ended up ordering this AFUNTA cable:
http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00EAM8A5G?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00
It was CDN$8.97 compared to the Importer520 cable at CDN$2.31. But for a price difference cheaper than a sandwich, I was able to get two-day shipping instead of waiting weeks for it to ship from Hong Kong. Totally worth it because my apartment has such bad wi-fi interference that I wanted it solved immediately.
Combined it with my existing Linksys USB3GIG and it worked. Like magic. Once the Ethernet connection is established you'll notice the wi-fi network name no longer appears on the start screen.
I had a difficult time setting up my Chromecast Audio via wifi. Determined it didn't play well with my TP-Link AV500 power line extender. Bought the Chromecast Ethernet adapter and plugged it into the TP-Link Ethernet port. Now it's "set and forget ". Works great.

Hi,
Has anyone managed to get an Ethernet adapter to work with the 7 Plus?
I've had a search around and can't find anything.
Thanks
Verrier Roberts
Using Plugable USB-C ethernet adapter, worked first time, pluggable website suggested it would not.
Hope that helps,

Yes, I've done it. Bought a USB-C to USB-A OTA adapter and then plugged a USB-Ethernet adapter into that, and I got an Ethernet connection from that.
I tried connecting a USB-C to Ethernet adapter, but it didn't work for me. There was no sign (like you get for Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) displayed for Ethernet.
Also tried connecting that adapter to Pixel 2, and it started behaving erratically. A few notifications came in, but then it stopped working.
