Found Developer mode by accident. - Galaxy S6 Active

I was just playing around in the settings app trying to remember how to enable 5.1's easter egg. I opened the System tab, clicked About device, then tapped on the Build number section repeatedly and I saw a message briefly pop up saying Developer mode enabled.
Not sure if it's common knowledge or even what it does. Any insight would be helpful.
P.S. the Easter egg requires quickly repeatedly tapping Android version under Settings>System>About device

It's common knowlegde I must say

Yeah, it's been that way for years. you have to press it 5 or 7 times i believe. It will actually count down and tell you how many more times to press it. Anybody who has rooted a phone in the past couple years has probably needed dev options to get USB debugging.

Thanks for the info. The last Android device I rooted was in the 2.3 days I believe, so I'm a bit behind the times...

[Q] No developers option

Is it only me or others too finding that there is no developers mode in the new Xperia z1 purple?
Settings, About Phone, tap the build number 7 times and developer options will appear when you back out of the About Phone sub menu.

As in cm, you've to type 7 times on Build-No. in the settings > "about your phone" (or similar [I'm on german language]).
Thanks for that, and ive got issues, suddenly vibration stops working and when you tap the phone then it will start working then stops after 2-3hrs
Mine hasn't worked since fixing phone after bootloop, does anyone know if build.prop controls vibrator function or know how to get it working please?

I have never seen this extension pop-up, I would say its mostly likely spam or advert. I would download Airpush Detector from the android market and see what is says. I have included a link for you too. Hope this helps. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.brosmike.airpushdetector&feature=nav_result
I had this about a week ago too. I haven't seen it since...

Me too. Popped up a few weeks ago. Then went away.
Today its back
Can you both list the apps you have installed? I will download the same apps and try and troubleshoot for you. Thanks

Try and boot the phone in safe mode (switch the phone off, switch on normally but when the screen lights up, press and hold volume down until booted). This will prevent any 3rd party apps from starting. Then see if you get the notification still.

Not getting notifications

So prior to update i'm pretty sure i was not having this issue.
Now, i'm updated and have not been getting my notifications.
What i have done to see if the issue can be fixed
-reset my phone
-reset the watch
-factory reset watch
-re-install app
After i do some of the steps above it will work but then eventually goes back to the same ole crap of not working. I'm getting a little irritated....
Thoughts?
Nobody?

Try to uninstall any non Wear app, reset and see what it does "clean". I had similar problems any time I used none Wear stuff. It works OK now with only Instaweather and Battery Wear installed. Mini Wear Launcher seems particularly difficult [emoji19]
So are you saying that the mini wear launcher causes issues?
Possibly... Mine works fine without and other threads also mention that they have problems with it. With all the respect for the developers, everything before the 5.0.1 update were more or less hacks because Google never published a developer kit until a few days ago. They all have to update their apps now this kit is available.

Well, i think its a software issue so i am going to do process of elimination by starting to delete apps to see if one makes it stop.
Deleted:
-Rain Alarm: Still drops notifications
-Facer: Pending.......
I would proceed the other way around. Start clean to see if it's really a buggy apps that causes the fault. If yes then install one after the other to find the culprit...
I am now, nothing on it now. Gonna add something every 24 hours to see what happens.

Fingers crossed [emoji6]
Here should be the fix to this:
Go to your phone's settings, on my Nexus 6 there is a notification tab, you go to whatever your's is called, and find the checkbox to enable notifications to your android wear app. Hope this helps! Feel free to give me thanks.

Weird Problem

I kept noticing my touchwiz launcher redrawing it's self every time I went to home. So I downloaded nova which I noticed it told me that don't keep activities was on in developer options. It seems I can't disable it now. When I turn it off and go back its back on every time. Same for if I turn off developer options. It just turns back on. What a weird glitch. Can anyone help?

My phone vibrates for no 'reason'

Greetings all,
I have a new Note5 and overall I like it.
As you might expect I have been working feverishly to find up to date app solutions for my usage model and that will work on an unrooted device. I despise all that conspire to force this upon us! Anyway I have been testing loads of apps and somewhere along the way something has been set to vibrate to indicate something. It is happening at fairly random intervals and nothing shows on screen or in the pull down that accounts for it.
I have looked for events that are pending, past due, etc. I don't get many texts. So, it isn't that. I have even turned on airplane mode which should prevent any kind of updaes or pushes that might trigger an notice.I have checked all of the apps I am using and none are set to vibrate only. From the initial turn on of this phone I have run package disabler pro for Samsung. Using a basic list from this xda thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/note5/general/guide-bloating-touchwizzing-note-5-t3184563. I have restarted the phone several times as well
Can anyone suggest some kind of system monitor/logging app that I can load that will allow me to find out which application is triggering this? Is there some other way I can find out what is triggering this event? I expect that a logging app will eat battery more but on a temp basis that would be ok.
Thanks all and here's to someone finding a way for us to root our notes without messing up our warranty and secure payment...

If you are talking about how it vibrates when you first pick it up for seemingly no reason, then that's a feature. It's to let you know you have notifications. It's called smart alert, you can disable it in the gestures menu.
vibrate (and sound) for 'no reason'
Thanks _MetalHead_
But no. This happens when it is sitting undisturbed. I will check and turn off that feature if it isnt already so it isnt adding to the confusion.
If I didnt say, I find no idication of active alarms or notifications.
P
Do you have any Bluetooth devices connected? I had a smart watch with my S5. Every time it connected or disconnected, the phone would vibrate. This was especially annoying when I left the watch in the bedroom while sitting in the living room with my phone. Every few minutes it would connect/disconnect and the phone would vibrate.

Not clear if this is contributing. Will turn BT off to be certain.
Actually, I think I can say for certain no. This has happened in airplane mode.
That is why I am looking for a system logging application or some equivalent method.

Hi, Go to settings and go to S Pen Option, and turn off all S Pen alerts, including power saver one.

Yeah, I re-read your OP, and noticed you said it was happening in airplane mode.
The S-Pen suggestion above seems worth pursuing.
Good luck!
I have the same problem. It would just randomly vibrate. I think is something to do with Google notifications.
