Just checking if its like this in the US.
I am in Canada and where it should display the next road to turn on it just displays 'unnamed road.'
However, once I turn on said unnamed road, it then displays the name of it, so it isn't like google can't find the name of the road.
Just wondering if this is normal with anyone else, I couldn't find an answer to this in this forum.
Thanks.

This is a known issue on the International Nav hacks.
How did you get google nav to work in Canada? Mine keeps saying "No route found"

Thanks MYN
I have been a long time fan of Vlingo for Blackberry and I read that it is now available for Android. I can't seem to find it in the market and I even went to www.vlingo.com/getvlingo. When I pull up the link it opens the market and says that there are no results for my search? Has anyone been able to successfully install this on the N1 running Froyo? If so, please enlighten me on how to do so.
Also, does this new version support Bluetooth voice dial since 2.2 has the ability now? One more thing, I did the build.prop mod to show all protected apps in the Market. Maybe that has something to do with it? If so, how do I revert this as well?

Vlingo pulls up fine for me - stock 2.1 (search for vlingo pulls it right up)
I'm on Froyo and can't pull up vlingo either (also went through Market and the getvlingo links).
Can anyone throw it up on a mirror?
Thanks!

This is a paid app, I pulled it up on my old G1. I don't think anybody is gonna post it here. Sorry for everybody who would actually pay for it.

Geez, ten bucks? What is it supposed to do that the inbuilt voice command cannot?
I used Vlingo when I had a BB and I didn't like it, and it was free at that time.

This is what they've got on their blog.
well, considering that voice to text should be available in any field that you are using the stock keyboard (i use swype, so i only turn stock on when i'm in the car), seems like vlingo is worthless
maybe i'm wrong
Thats pretty deceiving, since you can use the built-in android VR to compose emails and txt messages. I've done it many times, and it works great. I also use it to update my facebook status. As far as i can tell, there's really nothing that you CAN'T do with the built in VR, since you can use it anywhere you can use the keyboard.
Just got a reply back from support.
I was asked if my phone is rooted and if so that's the issue because the Market blocks Dev and Rooted phones.
Errrrr, hmmmm.
Anybody going to dish out 10 bucks for it and give us a review?

I got the exact same email from them about 5 minutes ago. I was solely interested in BETTER Bluetooth voice dial which they DON'T support at this time... I'm over it!
I suspect it doesn't show up in the market on Froyo devices because Google changed their voice recognition API in Froyo. They'll have to make some changes to the code and compile it with the 2.2 sdk.
I bought the app on my 2.1 Droid. The voice recognition is a lot better than Google's. I can actually use this, talk naturally, and don't have to worry about making corrections after the fact. I've got it mapped to hold on search hardware button, I say "Send an email to John Doe subject look at this message I composed this entire email without using my keyboard". It will ask me to verify the contact and email address I want to send to, let me choose to send with gmail or my exchange account, and insert the subject line and text in the message automatically. It's very slick and makes voice recognition really useful on android.

Read my post above yours. This is what they were referring to.
As far as froyo support, I may be wrong: http://blog.vlingo.com/2010/05/android-22-froyo-support-for-vlingo.html
Bottom line is that as soon as Android Market flips the switch and recognizes the 2.2 OS as an officially released OS, Vlingo will show up as available for download. We'll certainly let you know once Android Market makes the change, and all you Froyo pioneers will be free to download Vlingo at your leisure.

So the only difference is that you can create and send an email without actually opening the Gmail app?
That's still false advertising as you can indeed Compose an email through voice.
If they made a distinction between "open apps using your voice", then it would be correct. But the way they are phrasing it is totally false.
I bought it, mapped it to long-press search button. The very first time I used it, it worked perfectly. "Text Google Weather [my zip code]" and sure enough, Handcent opened and the TXT was 100% correct. That was the only time it worked though. Everything else was close, but enough off I had to manually input something (find the correct contact or change the body of the message). Wasn't very impressed with it at all.

Sorry, wasn't sure inder which thread to post, however, does anyone know hoe to get the Netflix app? Zune software can't find it for me, marketplace does not have it either.
strange!!!!!!
because I got one from the marketplace, but its written as T-mobile netflix, so I guess it would only for t-mobile user, not sure though
i got it in marketplace also.
when you go to the market place click on apps> entertainment> free. its the second one there. i just downloaded mine on to my phone.
Is there a XAP available?
There was a .xap of Netflix I found on some other thread but I won't bother linking to it as when I had downloaded and sideloaded it before I had live activated, it wouldn't go past a Netflix splashscreen. You probably have to download legitly from marketplace cause it checks for a license :/

funny, before seeing this post the only thing i tested on netflix was Ip Man. But just tried something else and the audio seems fine for me. right on time.
netflix...
works on my hd2...the vid quality isn't as crisp as say "the transformers" that came on the phone, but it works...could be the connections, a setting or something...the audio is perfect...it does "acquire a license" prior to loading...i couldn't get this to load on android so this is a huge step forward...
i guess im the only one having this issue wonder why

Error streaming
I installed the T-Mobile netflix app and it loads and browses my account.
However, when I try to stream anything I get:
"Connection Problem
Error Code: P8156
A connection problem is preventing playback.
If your phone is connected to your computer, disconnect your phone or close Zune.
If the problem persists, please call Netflix at 866-579-7113"
I get the same error both under wifi and data connection. I have not actived live services. Could that be the problem?

I have this problem also & my phone is activated also.
There are several commands built straight into Moto Voice. "What's up" reads notifications, for example. 9/10 times it will work great.
Then there is the 1/10 where I'll say "What's up".. and Moto Voice will kick to Google Now. I think maybe that it misheard me.. but then I look at the search and it's exactly "What's up". Except in Google Now.. that brings up a google search of local establishments thinking I'm asking what "up" is and doesn't read my notifications.
Anyone else experience this? Why is this happening?
[edit] Crappy video of the problem, sorry the poor quality and cams-manship.. took a while to actually get it to happen then it happened multiple times in a minute.
http://youtu.be/MlieuryHouo
Every single thing I say gets kicked to Google Now. I don't get it... so far this "touchless control" is just a slower way to access Google Now.
Some commands use Google Now legitimately. I'm not referring to those. I mean the commands that are supposed to be handled by Motorola. What's up, Good Night, etc.
Video of the problem added to OP: http://youtu.be/MlieuryHouo
Sorry the poor quality and cams-manship.. took a while to actually get it to happen then it happened multiple times in a minute. Give it a sec if it is still processing
Having the same problem, turning off Google now doesn't help either
Yeah, that happened to me occasionally. I wonder if the option to go to Google now from the lock screen needs to be disabled from the Moto app

I have had it happen when the phone was unlocked too, so I don't think that would be a viable workaround.
Any ideas why this may be happening when the command is obviously recognized properly?
Seems like a glitch. A reboot fixes this temporarily.
I initially had the problem of the "What's Up" and other specific commands not getting processed correctly but I redid the setup for the voice launch phrase and it worked after that.

For what it's worth, you can use tasker and an xposed module to force the phone to jump straight to Google Now search. You need the module "OkGoogleNowTriggerIntent" and info from this reddit thread.

Appreciate it, but no root on Verizon Moto X. Yet..
I ran into a similar issue except it was for the command goodnight and speak to me. I found out that nearly all my moto apps needed an update, but google play wasn't reporting them needing one in the my apps section of the play store. Easiest way to find out is to go to Motorola's play store developer page on your phone, click on each app that is marked as installed and see if there is an update pending. If there is, update it.
Additionally after I updated everything I got a prompt for a firmware update, install that too, restart and everything should be working correctly. Hopefully this helps!
Still have the same issue after the recent Moto Voice update

THIS PEOPLE!!!! The apps need to be updated. When I got my phone, a solid amount of the commands just kicked it to Google Now. In order to fix it, go into the Play Store and do 2 searches: "Moto" and "Motorola" and install all of the apps that need an update. The reason you need to do 2 searches is because a few of the apps don't show up in the "Moto" search, and some of them don't show up in "Motorola" so you need to do 2 searches to update all the apps.
After that all the commands will work fine. I have not had it kick a "Talk to me", "Good Night", "Good Morning", or "What's Up?" to Google Now ever since updating. Give it a try and it might fix your problems.

Same problem, but i found a workaround
choose a video and press play
when the video is playing, quickly double tap the powerbutton (so the display will be turned off and directly turned on and you'll be on the lockscreen, but the video keeps playing in the background nice for hearing music
@tdoughone In order to use background play you need to have a YouTube Music Key Subscription. If you have that already it should work fine for you but I suspect that is your issue.
