N900A Wifi Antenna - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm experiencing issues with the signal of the wifi, it is weak and only work when I'm close to my router. Is there a way to replace the Wifi antenna? and where is located. (usb board?)

[Q] wifi antenna external?

was wondering if there was some kind of external wifi antenna that maybe uses the usb/mini usb. most of the ones in the local electronic stores are for windows plat forms and im pretty sure wont work.
Probably not because they would require drivers.
Smart repeater

Doesn't phyically connect to your tab, but, if your looking to extend your range/reception in your house you could use an amped Wireless Smart repeater http://www.ampedwireless.com/products/sr300.html. I actually chose the access point version http://www.ampedwireless.com/family/accesspoints.html for my house to improve the wireless signal on the second floor. Works great.
The difference between the access point & repeater is the a/p requires a phyical connection to the network & the repeater doesn't. Max throughput on a/p is 300mbps & repeater is 150mbps (since it has to transmit wirelessly to your existing router & wireless clients).
thanks, i definately didnt want to have anything hangin off my tablet, kinda defeats the purpose, i like the repeater, ill check it out
Cheap mode: any router that supports DD-WRT - just put it into 'bridge' mode.
Fancy: the new Cradlepoint CTR35 can work as wifi repeaters as well as a hotspot

Need Help Connecting to Extender

The Chromecast connects very easily to the wifi network from the Actiontec router. No problem here.
For the part of the house where I need the Chromecasr, however, I have an Amped Wireless extender (AP300) into which ethernet from the router is connected and all devices in this part of the house have a very strong wireless signal.
The problem is that I can't get the Chromecast to connect to the extender's network, It sees the Chromecast I get the attached message when it tries to add to the network.
I am not very versed in networking so help is appreciated. I did check in the AP300's settings for isolation but couldn't find anything.
Thanks!
Exact same issue here...unable to connect (usually) to the Amped wireless repeater, but connect just fine with the main AP.
I wonder if this is an issue with other repeaters also?

According to their document you need to turn off AP Isolation

---------
Yes. You will need to disable AP/Client isolation, also known as client isolation, on your router. Please refer to your router documentation to learn how to disable AP isolation.
If you do not have access to your router settings, or if you are attempting to connect through a guest, hotel or public network with AP/client isolation, you will be unable to set up your Chromecast.
If you are attempting to connect through a Wi-Fi extender, please check your extender settings. You will need to disable AP isolation on your Wi-Fi extender before setting up Chromecast to work with your Wi-Fi network.

Sounds like they expect it to work on an extender....

Just for anyone who comes across this thread looking for a solution...
I managed to get it working by going into my Amped Settings at setup.ampedwireless.com , then I disabled LAPP setting. Works like a charm! Could be screwing something up I really have no clue.

HSPA connects but the WiFi is not working, why?
If I unlock the network lte I can improve connection lte?
Thanks for your answers.
That connector is for one of the cell radio antenna, not the WiFi radio. You're also getting worse cellular "reception" as the WiFi antenna is not designed for cellular frequencies nor balanced or impedance matched.
The WiFi radio doesn't have an external connector, just the two pressure-pins on the left side that connect to the microstrip antenna adhered to the backside of the rear case. No antenna means you'll get nearly zero or poor WiFi reception.
Indeed. Notice the minus sign on those dBmW values. The higher the number part (when the sign is negative), the less the signal.

xtrons px5 and 4g dongle problem

I bought the radio pb78attrp with 4gb ram and px5 and the dolgle 4gdong001. the radio not recognize as device 3g but just as streaming WiFi. i enclose a Photo to understand what is the problem. how can I fix?
Hi, I have (what I think is) the same problem. My head unit is a te706pl and I've got the 4gdong001. The head unit shows 'No service' when the dongle is plugged in and shows the empty signal bar in the notification area like your screenshot. Did you find a solution ?
Er the name wifi modem kinda gives it away. It acts as wifi connection the wifi network name and password are on the back of the dongle.
There is no issue/problem with them. Your wifi is showing full signal in the pic !?!?!?!?!!......?my word is this for real!?!?!
And make sure it's plugged in to the 4g usb port should be labelled as such.
