Which version of Note 5 for the UK market? - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have a UK SIM supplied by Three and I want to upgrade to the Note 5 however not sure which version works the best is it the N920i or the N920C for proper 4G support?
Thanks in advance.
T

I have N920C and have full 4G support on Three UK in Manchester I found when looking for one that the C version was slightly cheaper than the i - I guess folk feeling more certain about that one for international use. I also wanted the Pink Gold version

Have the CD version also in three no issues at all

N920C/CD, are the recommend models for the UK. Though if N920I is available then that will work as well. Though I would still recommend N920C.

[Q] Thinking of buying UK NOTE 4 - advice please?

Hello
I am considering purchasing the Note 4 here in the UK, my question is will I be better off trying to source the exynos version or stay with snapdragon?
I am currently with Vodafone in UK - if I go with exynos will I be able to use 4G with this?
Has anyone else in the UK got the exnos version & is there an update to Lollipop yet?
Where did you buy the exynos version?
Thanks
910u taiwan is far superior to any other. works fine in the uk but probably not on 4G.
910F for O2 has the lollipop version. mine was bought off ebay from a taiwan seller
Exynos or Snapdragon

This really depends on what kind of user you are. If you like flashing custom ROMs etc the snapdragon will serve you better.
If you just want to go for stock the Exynos outperfoms the snapdragon. The difference is small though.

Looking to get an Unlocked Note 5...Model?

I am looking to get an Unlocked Note 5 in Silver (does anyone have this or have you seen it - does it look as good in person)
My question is:
There are many unlocked versions, but I believe there are several versions that may work in the US
But I am thinking it is one of: N920C or N9200 or N920I (I am thinking it is the N920I, with the "I" standing for International?)
Can anyone tell me which works on GSM in US, T-Mobile
Thanks

I would stay away from the N920C if you are going to use it in the US. I have the N920C and on ATT network it is getting only 3G and the signal is considerably weaker than on other phones compatible with ATT.
What does the N920C stand for. I think I need the "I" don't you.

They are designed for different continents. The N920I is for - Australia, New Zealand, Singapore. The N920C is for middle east, russia, africa, israel ...etc. If you can get the Unlocked T-mobile variant, you're good. Otherwise checkout the willmyphonework.net or the "The Ulimate Note 5 Band Guide."
Are you sure the I isnf for international.
That's what I wanna know. What one is able to be used. There is no such thing as a T-Mobile unlocked version. Yes there is one that works on T-Mobile, ATT etc. If you hear of the specific model I'd be grateful.

Thank you really ALot. I tried that and they got 2 blue checks and a yellow. So the same #frustrating
I bought the N920i version and work perfectly with ATT and TMOBILE. It have an amazing internet speed, i'm talking about more than 45MBPS.
Is a grate phone.
Thank you. I was thinking that was for International. Then I saw some sites (Expansys) who was selling the N9200 and was told they were the same.
thanks so much
Yes, N9200 is pretty much the same as N920i but dual sim card model. It should work in US. Be careful, this model can come from China and Google apps may be a problem.
I have ordered this model from Expansys and it should come from South Korea.
Spoke to Samsung via chat, NewEgg and Best Buy most will work to some degree here . BUT they said the one made for gsm carriers in US is the N920G. It can be had on NewEgg or Expansys but def eBay Amazon and Best Buy for $100 more than other places
just adding my 2 cents worth: i'm using a 64GB Silver SM-N9208 (Taiwan - CSC is BRI) dual SIM Note 5 on ATT & T-Mobile and it's working great. no network issues at all. 5 of the 10 people on my current project use Note 5's (including me); the other 4 Note 5 users are in awe of my device, especially the Silver color and the fact that i can make/receive calls from both SIMs at the same time.

There are so many threads dealing with this issue.
You should either use the above website or use pdadb.net to see which LTE bands a particular model uses and then compare that to the LTE bands your carrier uses (which is what the above website actually does)

Both N920C and N920I should work fine in US except one 3G band for T-Mobile....but when it comes to Software updates...what do you think is first to get official updates? N920I being the Australia model, would it be after N920C? I heard sometimes its after even US models...Thoughts?

Using an unlocked att device outside USA

I want to buy a galaxy note 5 from Amazon while I'm in America and use it in a different country where I live.
The device I am considering is the sm-n920a. I've checked the cellular bands and they Mach.
I'm have a few questions since it is not the international version or the sm-n920c that is sold in my country.
1. I heard people saying that it won't fully support my language since it is an att phone. It seemed odd to me because I thought that if the international version supports the language any module should.
2. Will there be a problem with OTA updates?
3. At the price point of 360$, is the note 5 really the best phone to buy?
Thanks

I have an unlocked AT&T Note 5 and an international one, both work perfectly even though I live outside America. And about updates I am not sure but you can always search for custom roms with the latest features for the device on the forum. And overall the n5 is a great phone in my opinion, has everything you need in a phone and more.

Note 9 SM-N960FD with UK Firmware?

Hi guys. I am looking to purchase the Note 9 from eglobalcentraluk. com/samsung-galaxy-note-9-n960fd-dual-sim-6gb-128gb-with-gerenic-0.3mm-3d-curved-premium-tempered-glass-screen-protector-midnight-black.html
This is an international version, and from what I can tell, it's the 5th one down on this list, techwalls. com/samsung-galaxy-note-9-sm-n960-model-number-differences/ the SM-N960FD Duos, for Asia, India, and Singapore.
I live in the UK, and am looking to flash this with UK firmware so I can use samsung pay, and to avoid other annoyances. Can someone tell me if this would work? When finding the firmware on sammobile, when it says type 'my model number,' will the SM-N960F work? It doesn't get anymore specific in terms of SM-N960F**** etc.
I use BT mobile which uses EE networks. Would it be best to flash the EE version?
Thanks for your help!
I paid £700 for a brand new condition (charged once) N960F on Ebay. For the tiny saving, I'd just get a proper UK phone.
Just get it, you don't need to flash anything, the N960f works in the UK no different to one bought from a UK retailer, there's already several threads about this. I've been using the N960f for over a week now, flashing any firmware to it isn't going to change anything, needlessly flashing anything on any device is only opening you up to more risks.
From what I gather, the N960F IS the UK version, if you look at all the variants there's no UK spwcific one at all, so I'm pretty certain the global variant is what is on sale in the UK, all other variants are USA and Asian.
Get it from Samsung UK, if ever you need warranty you wish you had. And you can get a good trade in. Pick up a cgwap note 3 and get £200 trade in value. Join the upgrade program get 24 months interest fee credit too

Currently I'm with three, but dual sim option is tempting since I travel a lot.
Do you know if version n960fd is free of career useless apps and if it will be working fine in Ireland? Lte vise it should be working to my knowledge but I wanted to ask for your advice.

i know 1800 mhz is Three LTE network, here in the UK as that's the band they purchased for 4G LTE i'm not sure about ireland. Also make sure you get the Exynos as it supports all LTE bands globally same for HSPDA, HSDPA+, 3G Etc,
Also im not sure about sim unlocked as i purchased my note direct from Samsung UK i have to make a full 5 min call in the UK/EU before i can use it in the asian region, or globally as there's a sticker on the box that warns me about that!
i aint sure if one would have to make the call in asia i.e Hong Kong for full 5 mins before it starts to work over here in the UK or in your case ireland,
as eGlobal is based in Hong Kong all is stock is for the Asian market...
i could be wrong i'm sure some XDA user will know the answer!
Hey, bump up on this thread.
I bought the model mentioned in the headline.
I did not try dual sim (or 2nd sim slot) in terms of LTE, but I have received a UK version of the phone from global central. It was 690 with shipping.
Everything works as intended and I'm happy with the device.
