Hey guys what the hell is this my phone died I powered it back up then it powered down I took it out of the otterbox to avoid overheating and this little green light I have never seen before popped up take a look someone please explain this
It's a "sign of life" indicator. Its supposed to indicate "I'm charging, but cannot power on, or display the battery charging icon."
I believe there's a Xposed module that makes use of it as a notification light, and RR (and maybe CM) has it built into the ROM. It doesn't flash/pulse though.

Thank you I've never seem that before so it scared me a bit xD and if you find the xposed module will you let me know I'm running cm and I've never seen that option but again thank you I feel a bit better lol
@ChazzMatt do you have any idea what xposed module he's talking about?
LPThemer is the Xposed module @baybutcher27 references in his RR threads. Personally, I've never used it.

Sadly this has nothing to do with that little light being used for notification from what I could see plus its for LP I'm on CM 13 and that module looks like its only for themes bummer

In RR, it can be turned on for notification, but it doesn't blink and it can't change colors. It's only green solid light.

I have it on mine, running CM13, I activated the notification myself but I can't find the setting. I dig deeper.

I've been testing some roms and so far none of them have a working active display.
Is there any decent ROM with a working active display?
Yea, i'm looking for one too. As close to stock\AOSP as possible would be great.
Pacman works decent IMO

Yep! Lesson learnt! Apparently, there's nothing like stock. I won't try another ROM ever again on my Moto X. Stock + XPosed is the sh*t !
The only thing missing are the themes, but i can live without those.
I recommend Acid + Acdisplay

Does XPosed allow you to dim the display by swiping across the notification bar? Honestly, that is the only setting I ever cared about with my previous ROMs and phones, which is why I always used something akin to PAC Roms.
Eclipse hands down.

get light flow paid and will work
Nope, you have to use Light Flow. Do note that Light Flow requests a lot of superuser requests and causes a large number of wakelocks which can contribute to additional battery drainage.

What kernels are you guys running that don't need direct mode? Franco supposedly doesn't but it won't work otherwise.

Hi
I just moved from LG-G3 to N6, and like it for the most part. There are a couple of things I liked, which I believe I can achieve by rooting my N6
- Notification light
- Knock Code.
The rub is, that my corporate requires me to use AirWatch agent which doesn't work on Rooted devices. Is it possible for me to Root, install the notification light/knock code changes and then unRoot again (and retain these modifications)?
I hope the answer is yes
BTW, my Android version: 6.0.1, Build MMB29K
Probably not. Almost definite not for the light as it requires writing to the kernel's virtual file system to turn the light on or off... But maybe someone can correct me with some other way.
no. once you unroot, your mods won't work anymore. anyways.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/attention-questions-t3228454
Well the tap thing is xposed right? Never tried but I have heard since xposed installs its own framework to run its programs that you can unroot and things may still work. Though I think a lot of things that look for root look for xposed too, so your still likely out of luck.
Thanks a lot for all your help. Next time I will post to the right (Q&A) sub-forum
Sad, that the notification light is in the HW, but not enabled in Nexus

I like that as well. I'm using PureNexus ROM that provides configurable LEDs(like I've it enabled only for battery charging) + double tap to wake and sleep out of box. It has many more customization options and very stable as its very very close to stock. Have been using it for a while now.

Root, install the mods you want, then use xposed to install root cloak to hide root from airwatch.

Is there any working Alert Slider App or Mod out there to date? It seems like only custom Rom's feature it and i found myself pretty happy with OOS, i am Bootloader Unlocked, rooted and with TWRP, so if there is any1 who has found a way to change the Alert Slider to "Ring - Vibrate - Silence" please let me know.
Also Great Community here, you guys are all so nice and work so hard, keep it up guys!

....also looking for one that works on Nougat without xposed.

OH! Missed that! Well worth a try then!
Been using RR on my S5 and loved it.
Possibly a stupid question, but here goes...
Are there any mods or roms out there that let you set one of the positions as a flashlight toggle? I don't have any use for vibrate mode. I can't feel it in my pocket, and when in its case, I won't hear my phone vibrating on anything.
Thanks in advance

I know this an old thread, but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere.
I have a 3T(OOS OB15, Android 7.1.1), rooted with Magisk.
Do I need Xposed for this to work? If yes, can you link me to a guide on how to install it?
If no, do I just install this app? And what is the SELinux mode?
AOSPA Extended has a customisable Alert Slider function in settings
I'm currently using Renovate ICE. I like it because of features like edge lighting and auto HBM. Plus a very responsive Dev team.
Renovate because it implements additional features to OOS, whereas others seem to focus more on optimizations and debloating, which I am not interested in.
Renovate makes stock OOS feel kind of like OOS+, or what OOS should be by default.
Was on renovate but it didn't really give me anything i absolutely needed so just running custom kernel and a few other magisk mods. Waiting for AOSP to get all the kinks out.

Hey,
Never tried this rom before. Could you please a picture of the Edge lighting feature and how it works comparing to the stock OOS?
Is it true that you have to pay subscription to use Renovate ? Or it is free version of it?

Kirisakura. Tried most of them. Obiously a kernel isn't going to change much on a huge scale but its just what i have found myself sticking with.

Currently it's like the horizon lighting. But the dev is working on getting it to light up like a led.
