Okay, so I got tired of going from post to post looking for working apps on the Jide forum site. The following are a list of apps that Users claim to be working for them. Warning: they may necessarily work for every user, but on the other hand it may! So download and use at your own risk. If you find a problem using any app listed, but then find a way to fix it, that others may use, then please return and post it. Do not post the same solution twice folks! Please do not return and post it did not work for you or that the work around also failed. Like I stated before these apps and or their workaround may not work for everyone. Please do post additional apps not listed. I know some are repeats on my list, but I will try to clean it up as I go.
Good Luck., "Takes us out Mr. Zulu".

Time Warner App. Scrolling issues too, but once you start scrolling (see above on how), at least you get a scroll bar. The guide shows channel numbers as you scroll. It looks weird, but you get used to it and I see an advantage to it. On Demand plays great. I cannot figure out how to change the channel on Live TV. I am stuck watching A&E and Dog the Bounty Hunter. It looks like the live channel guide comes up quickly, then it disappears. Unlike On Demand, Live TV is not full screen. But it plays good.
Just switched my display from 720p to 1080p and it has made a big difference on some apps functionality.

TVMC works well except for
1. cursor alignment- Fix for cursor alignment and screen area in TVMC/KODI is: in appdrawer rightclick on TVMC/KODI and choose "open in fullscreen mode".
2. the app screen area seems to be larger than the screen area set in Remix OS display settings.
For those having mouse pointer misalignment issues in KODI, you may want to make sure when you first setup Remix Mini, your video screen area stays inside your TV/Monitor. Make sure you run KODI in full screen mode. Within the system setting of KODI , goto video calibration and again make sure the KODI screen area fit inside your TV/Monitor. That works for me!
Emby works pretty well, could use some dev on audio syncinc on certain videos.

I did a search for a master games thread but found nothing so I thought I would reply here. I just picked mine up yesterday and have been looking for some games for it. Besides Angry Birds ive found that Krazy Kart v1.2.7 works perfectly (full screen, looks great!) with the touch screen controls, but tilt controls are way off. Anyone know of any others that work? I wanted to buy NOVA HD but without a phone number on the Gameloft website it seems not possible.

Are you saying that angry birds does work? When I did a market fix it finally showed up but failed install on me. Is that full screen?
Both Angry Birds and Angry Birds seasons work on mine, running TNT-Lite 2.2.1.
Angry Birds and Pocket God both work fullscreen. Pocket God starts upside down, but just have to flip the tab over. Screen looks better from that side anyways
It wasn't working for me before, but as of 5 minutes ago I got it working on VEGAn
I now have

Hmm... It "works" for me, but doesn't draw correctly. The tower build stacks are drawn in the middle of the playfield, making it somewhat difficult to play.

Miren Browser and ES File Explorer
All the apps mentioned are great.
Have any of you checked Miren Browser out yet? I discovered it a few days ago for my Droid X, and once I got tntlite working on this (now) amazing tablet, I installed Miren. Once of the nice things about Miren is that it lets you change your user agent to ipad. I was actually looking for something to change the user agent to Android, because that is what I am used to, but with Miren and the default Browser, I now have some nice viewing options.
I also cannot say enough about the ES File Explorer. I had always used Astro, but ES is amazing, especially if you are a Windows Home Server (WHS) user.
I have all of my music, movies and software on my WHS, and now with ES File Explored, I can easily copy and move files back and forth, and even backup my whole GTab and Droid-X onto my WHS, which itself backs up nightly, and will soon carbonite. IT also makes sideloading a snap, because I can download from my PC straight to my WHS software folder, and then install directly from the WHS.
Thanks,
Johnny
Was interested in seeing what everyone does with their tablets as i feel im not using my to full potential.
I mainly use mine for searching net, reading websites, watching Youtube, check emails and twitter reading a paper or mag and maybe the odd game.
Thats about it for the most part.
what else can it be used for?
i use mine for:
- taking notes (asus super note)
- capturing my ideas (adobe collage)
- reading books (ezpdf reader, polaris office)
- learning french (about 13 different dictionaries and conjugation apps)
- searching and surfing the web (firefox, opera mini)
- checking forums (xda premium hd, tapatalk hd)
- reading Quran (Quran android)
- messaging
- email
- maps (i travel a lot these days)
- camera (don't judge me )
- watching movies and tv shows (mx video player)
- music (play music)
- games (cut the rope, angry birds, fruit ninja thd)
and just for the sake of using it to full potential i sometimes hit my sister with it or use it as a japanese hard pillow.
Is Asus Supernote the same as The Supernote that's already on the Tablet?
If not can you link me to it please.
Thanks
Pretty much everything! Moved from iPad to this and because of the extra openness I rarely use my Mac or PC when I'm not working now... Some things I use it for:
Portfolio - Displays my graphic design work
Perfect photo viewer
Kindle (Best e-Reader, you can give it it's own brightness etc.)
Social hub (Seriously, Samsung Social Hub is one of the best social network aggregators I've seen, works especially well in portrait)
Skype (Seriously try this, the future is here guys, Star Trek ain't got nothing on Android!!)
Magazines (Zinio lets you subscribe to magazines, save the paper etc.)
It has replaced my newspapers (I'm all digital now, I just read the news sites/apps)
Gaming (Makes a great little games console, never going to live up to an Xbox or PlayStation but it certainly gives portable stuff like PSP and DS a run for its money with the big screen and very affordable games!)
Games console emulators
Evernote
"Cracked!" Reader app (very magazine-ish in portrait mode)
Comic books
Radio & podcasts (Great broadband radio apps, good speakers, win!)
Route planning on Google Maps
TV/Movies when away from home (As long as there's wi-fi, Netflix works great, if not, I stock it up with some films)
Development (I am an iOS and Android developer)
Things I DON'T use it for:
Writing on this forum - the browser seems to have a tendency to just stop working if I try to send a relatively long post on this forum and some others, not sure if its my network, the browsers or the device.
Music - My iPhone does the music bit, and 16GB with no SD slot is pushing it a little with music.
Instant messaging - Mobile OS multitasking isn't ready for IM, it really needs to be something you keep present on the screen no matter what you're doing the way you can on a Mac or a Windows computer with a good sized screen. I'd use it for IM if Samsung had made a TouchWiz overlay IM program like they have with their calculator, calendar etc., but switching to and from IM+ just isn't versatile enough.
isnt adobe collage like 15$?
An interesting post as I think the tablet form factor is not being used to its full potential.
For me surfing and reading the two biggest uses as with everyone else.
Other uses for me:
- Home media player with HDTV connector. MK video player plays more formats than Xbox or PS3 and easier to connect than laptop. I use ES explorer to connect and stream to NAS.
- Microsoft Instant Messenger (try Office talk). Great when not in front of work laptop. Can use any IM really and saves you firing up computer.
- Have tried VNC and Teamviewer. Need to setup static IP but useful if in other room. Contemplating whether to leave work laptop on all day and just vnc.
- Highly recommend installing Overskreen Browser. Useful browser which acts as a separate window on top of what you are doing. Combine this with a web app and you have a second reference window. For example, check address while on Google maps.
- I have Documents to Go so can open all Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint via Dropbox account. Still won't replace working on desktop as not all features are enabled, like pivot tables in excel or transitions in PowerPoint. This is still for reference and look up.
I've tried note taking but quicker to write out notes. For this size, an active digitizer would be the killer app.
Interested in what other people do as well.
Sent from my GT-P7300 using xda premium
- Browsing mainly and reading news via Pulse. And Facebooking and IM'ing a lot.
- Sending links to my PC via 2SendTab when needed (music or videos from Youtube or stuff I need to look at the next morning)
- Remoting into my PC via PhoneMyPC (the best remote app out there) and doing pretty much everything from my bed. LOL.
When I'm not programming at home, I'm pretty much on the tablet all the time and my PC turns into my home cinema and that's it. I would gladly stop using it alltogether as long as Photoshop and other productivity tools were available on Android (which I hope soon).
i don't think you're supposed to have a supernote *already* on the tablet unless you have a transformer prime.
check this post, it's really useful:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1204931
and no. adobe touch apps are all less than 10 bucks.
i don't mind other apps. just adobe collage gave me the feeling that i would enjoy using it.
also adobe photoshop touch was good. but it's nothing compared to the pc version and i wouldn't use my tab for photo editing.
I keep noticing people referring to Tapatalk HD on this forum, but I can never find an HD version, just a nasty stretched out mobile app. I used to use the HD version on iPad so I'd love to have it on my tab... Where are you guys getting it??

using it as a car front end looks really awesome if you have 3g/4g
-General web/social uses
-Making small changes to websites I manage (Droid Edit Pro)
-Reading (kindle or ez pdf reader)
-Gaming (Android games and n64oid)
-Blogging (write in google docs then post from pc...blogger's app is terrible and the website is bad on mobile devices)
-Music (Google Music)
-GoogleTV remote
-Google+ Hangouts
-Netflix while laying in bed.
I use mine for the following:
- Ordering takeout (especially dominos making your own pie is great)
- Making online purchases like Ebay & Amazon. (Paypal is great)
- Reading (Magazines, XDA, Manga, Pulse)
- Watching videos (streaming media, anime, youtube)
- Location services (maps, train maps & timetables)
- Gaming
There is an increasing number of tablet friendly(customized) apps that make things very easy. I am sure i use it for more but can't think of them all.

I use my tab for a variety of purposes, most of which are mentioned in others' posts. Mainly it's a great tool for consuming the information & entertainment on the Internet. Although some strides are being made in productivity (e.g. Adobe touch apps), tablets still come nowhere close to the capability of a desktop for work.
Thought it would be nice to exchange recommendations on apps for the HD and HD+.
My favorites are:
- ES File Explorer (I use it mostly for file xfer between the Nook and PCs on my LAN or in the Cloud - Google Drive for me)
- Text+ (free texting to others on their cell phones or other Text+ users, they actually give you a phone number. Can do voice calls too but not free. I've only had it a short time but seems great so far)
- Ruzzle (a word game, free version is ad supported)
- Words With Friends (but I'm having to run an old version due to problems with the latest on CM 10.1, at least at CM's default of 240 PPI on the HD+)
- Titanium Backup (good for backing up restoring apps and data, needs root, so probably not as useful on Stock)
Sent from my Nook HD+ Running CM 10.1 from emmc
To name a few apps that get the most use are
Plants v Zombies
Broken Sword 2
Plasma Sky
The Bards Tale
FF III, IV
Pettsons Inventions Dlxe
Root Explorer
Andro Zip File Manager
BS Player
Nova Launcher
Here is my list:
Flipboard
Mantano reader
Diceplayer
Box
Root brower
TTpod
I forgot to mention Readability. Its a reader for articles you've marked in your browser to read later. You get a chance to read your articles with nice font and layout, and no ads.

My Favorites Android Apps
1Weather cause you need 1 good weather apps and has good widgets
AdAway speed up browsing by blocking ads (not on Playstore)
Amazon Appstore it installs to any device, unlike Google Play Store
Appy Geek stay current on news
Aviary great photo editor
CameraMX good layout, lots of features
CamScanner replaced my home scanner for email documents and saving receipts digitally
CifsManager download big files directly to you shared hard drive, useful if you don't have memory card slot (nexus 7)
HBO2Go, Netflix, A&E, History Channel, Fios Mobile- Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory, and a 7" tablet 7" from your face is like a 50" LCD TV
ES File Explorer I use back up feature for apps that the Play store won't let me install to my tablet, but will for my phone. BT transfer and install. And search feature to find shared LAN drives, and FTP works good also. This is my favorite app of all.
FBReader- reads almost all book formats, available on almost all device (winCE, Nokia N800, Symbian, Linux, Windows)
Folder Mount Jelly Bean 4.2 won't let me move App/Games to my microSD card, so this is the work around because Dark Knight Rises is 1.81GB
GrooVe IP- free VOIP calls. Verizon minutes run out fast if you are sharing, free calls over 4G, 3G and Wifi if you have data MB left over.
Instructables- the Man version of Pinterest
LCD Density- how tight can you get your DPI, helps minimize scrolling, like having high resolution monitor.
Micro CPU Monitor- system getting laggy? watch your CPU usage
Minecraft keeps family entertained for hours
MX Player hardware acceleration for almost any video and audio type. Like VLC but for Android
NZB Leecher+- download from newsgroups on the go?
Opera and Opera Mini right now its the fastest, has sync but switch to Chrome engine, have to wait and see

MediaBrowser is more than a media manager. It's a powerful open-source platform that you can use to manage, view, play and control your media on most mainstream hardware...
MediaBrowser consists of a server and any one or more of many clients to view and manage your multimedia collection. You are able to enjoy your TV, Movies, Music, E-Books, Games* and Emulators* around your house in a wonderful 10 foot interface. (*games and emulators can only be run on a machine on which it is installed)
The MediaBrowser Android, WindowsPhone 7/8 and Windows 8.1 clients connect to your MediaBrowser server and allow you to consume your media anywhere you are connected. (Playback not supported on WP7, only library and remote functions)
Don't have MediaBrowser? Visit http://www.mediabrowser3.com/
But wait!? You said open-source? but this is in the paid section?
Yes, while the MediaBrowser server and other clients are built on free open-source systems, the android, and windows phone, and windows 8 client applications are not. These 3 clients are the only of many pieces that require any type of purchase to use, if you choose to do so. Read on, and find out about the many other free open-source parts of MediaBrowser.
Developers:
MediaBrowser is an open source project and welcomes developers from all coding backgrounds. If you are a developer and wish to get involved head on over to our github repository and check it out. https://github.com/MediaBrowser
Our plugin store allows developers to make free, premium supporters only, and paid plugins available to users. While MediaBrowser is free, it does support itself on a supporter key system, where for a small donation, users have access to premium and paid plugins, in addition to the free plugins. **Plugins are currently only available for MB server, MB Classic and MB Theater, but you just may be the developer to change that!
And a Linux/OSx mono based server is under development. If you are an experienced Linux/osx dev, and would like to help out or join our team please feel free to stop by this thread here!

So what exactly is MediaBrowser?
Media Browser, beginning with version 3, is no longer a single program. It encompasses a large suite of applications all communicating with a central server that manages your library.
No longer locked inside Windows Media Center, Media Browser can now bring your entire media library to not only all of the computers on your network, but also many of your portable devices. Whether it's the Roku in the living room, or your tablet on the back porch, Media Browser will bring your media right to you.
And, we mean right to you as the user profile feature allows you to set up completely different views and options on your library based on who is accessing it. Keep different display styles, parental control levels and watched and favorite status' for all the different members of your household and all of that information travels with the user no matter what client or device they are using.
Start watching something at home on the HTPC and pick it back up where you left off on your phone or tablet on the train.

A little History on MediaBrowser?
Some of you may remember VideoBrowser which eventually matured into MediaBrowser and was solely a Windows Media Centre Plugin which allowed a user to display rich and detailed information about their media collections much like other available media front ends. The benefits of using MediaBrowser were having Live TV readily available and a large media collection in the same application. It then started allowing themeing and plugins to enhance the media experience?
MediaBrowser has come on leaps and bounds within the last year or so. Firstly, it’s no longer confined to Windows Media Centre, it’s undergone a complete overhaul, complete recoding and opened up a world of new beginnings for the HTPC world, where the community is always listening to improve the MediaBrowser experience as a whole to the end user.

So What’s Changed? Out with the old in with the new!
MediaBrowser now has a brain, a central nervous system which uses its Server Application and currently runs on your Windows based PC or even your server(Linux/Mono server is currently under development). The server is the hub of all things to do with your media collection, from Movies to Music Videos, Books to Games, MB has it all and allows the user to organise and categorize their collections as they deem fit for their use and application. Furthermore, it allows almost any device to connect to it from anywhere, such as Android, Windows Phone, iOS, Roku, Sky’s NowTV box, your favourite web browser, and standalone applications such as MediaBrowser Theatre, Windows 8 and still MediaBrowser Classic(WMC integration). These are all refered to as Apps/Clients within the MB world.

Collection Organization - Metadata Compatibility with Plex & XBMC
The Server and what it does for you?
The server runs on the PC where your media collection is or has fast access to, such as NAS drives, Everything is in place to automatically collect the right metadata information for your media collections including all the art that fanart.tv provides, it stores all this artwork in your item’s folder but can be edited from the metadata manager within the web dashboard. What’s beautiful about MB is that if you use MediaPortal, XBMC, Plex then MB is intelligent enough to understand the metadata structures for those front ends and also integrate with them. We now have many users using MB-Server and XBMC Front End. The server has the right amount of configuration available to not daunt a new comer to the HTPC world and can leave the settings at default, where as a power user can get stuck in and, tweak things the way they want their metadata scraped and saved.
The screen shots below show just how easy it is to edit images and the selection available that MB recognizes and uses.
At the moment, our server currently only runs on windows, however, a linux/OSx mono based server is under development. If you are an experienced Linux/osx dev, and would like to help out or join our team please feel free to stop by this thread here!

Apps and Accessing the Servers Content
Think about the Apps like shoppers in a mall, where the mall is the MB-Server and the MB-Apps are the customers, shopping around for things they like or want to see. It seems appropriate to call them these as that’s exactly what these MB-Apps do. Just about any handheld device, pad, laptop or pc can access the server using a dedicated app or access via a web browser, which in my eyes make life easy.
MBClassic (Original MB, WMC integration)
MBTheatre (Standalone PC based application)
Win 8 App (Windows Tablet or standalone PC based application for Windows 8)

WindowsPhone App (Available in the WindowsPhone Store)
iOS App (Available thru AppStore)
Roku (Available from Roku Store || NowTV box from Sky is available for side loading)
WebClient (Browse your collection from your favourite internet browser thru HTML5)

Fanart.tv and MediaBrowser
There has been a long standing partnership with MB and fanart.tv and MB would like to commend them on their hard work over the years and may it continue. I feel it’s only fair that there should be some screen shots to wet your appetite. These Screenshots have been taken from MB-Classic and show just how beautiful fanart has helped to make themes like Subdued(An MBClassic Theme) look beautiful.

Newly supported:
Live TV
We now support live tv through the use of a modular service provider system. You'll need to install a service provider plugin, and at launch we have one, ServerWMC. We'd like to thank krustyreturns for being a part of this.
A next pvr plugin is also in development, and we also have a few more on our wish list - Argus TV, DVBViewer and DVBLink. If you would like to get involved and help develop one of these plugins, please let us know.
So let's get down to live tv. You have the ability to view the guide, watch a channel, and full recording management capabilities. And the web client design is responsive so that you can use it on your smartphone to schedule a recording when you're not home.
Transcoding Engine Improvements
Perhaps just as exciting as live tv, we've made significant improvements to our transcoding service that will really help reduce server cpu usage.

update post 2
Only copy freely content available thru serverWMC just for clarity...
The mb3 server is fantastic and ALL the clients are great.
The dev has done a great job with the windows phone app. Open to suggestions for improvement too. ServerWMC support coming soon, best feature on that is remotely setting recordings in my opinion. That said i don't watch much media on the go...
The android app is cracking on a tablet and the dev is looking to support android media players in the future. Which with serverWMC should make for an impressive cheap mediacenter!!!

what speed of router are you using? B/G/N/AC? what type of content? avi, mkv, mpg?
what is the processor speed of the server machine? it has to transcode if the file bitrate exceeds your wifi speed.
the problem is not your phones, it is your server, network, or content.
it works wonderfully on my Bell S4 on a N network, playing all my files, from a AMD FX 8 core server machine (any dual core 2.5 GHz or better should suffice)
