I want to use the Moto x with the T-Mobile 200mb tablet sim. Want to turn my moto x into a gym/running phone. Nexus 6 is too big to take with me on runs so by doing this I can still get calls via hangouts while being away from my primary phone

Now that we have root, is there any chance that we could see a working port of the NFC-enabled Google Wallet app that works on the Verizon Moto X? I'm sick of trying to use Isis for NFC payments, and I don't think that there are any hardware limitations that would prevent the app from working on the Verizon model. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.)
The latest wallet app works on a lot of devices, including verizon and devices without nfc. download it and try it. Are you saying that the nfc part of it doesnt work?
I downloaded Google Wallet on my non-root Moto X (Verizon) just the other day, and it seemed to log in and work fine. Haven't tried paying for anything with it though.
Tap to pay is disabled on Verizon.
Does the Moto X even have a secure element?

The Moto X on Sprint and US Cellular both support tap to pay, so all we have to do is trick the app into thinking that our phone os one of those, and we should be able to do it, right?

I think I remember reading that the secure element is being moved to the sim?
does your verizon wireless moto x have a crackling sound on the back cover when you press down on or near the verizon wireless logo? just curious as I am within my 14 days ...
Thanks
Unfortunately, Yes. Seems to be a quality issue with the ones made in the US (or something like that) But from what I've heard, the MotoMaker Moto X aren't having the problems.
I have on the micro sim slot
I have that sound in the 16gb vzw white moto x
Nope.

No. I have a vzw MotoMaker version that I received yesterday.
I just got the Moto X this week from Verizon and noticed this as well. Came across this thread, glad I'm not the only one. Not too happy about it. Did the OP go in and have the device replaced?
Also happening on my VZW developer edition. I'm annoyed about it but also learned to live with it now.

I've had a galaxy nexus on Verizon for awhile now
Its been rooted and has a custom rom
My question is how to I use my Moto x as a hot spot, without verizon getting wind of it?

root is required though...
Unless you have the unlimited data plan I don't believe they can stop you. For sure the Share Everything plans have tethering at no additional cost.
Please forgive me if this has been asked before!
I am really wanting to buy the sprint moto x but I'm looking to leave sprint in a few months. I was wondering if I can take the moto x with me to tmobile (I know you can with the nexus 5 but I don't want that)?
Does the moto x for sprint uses a sim card for sprint now like the others?

In short, no you cant
It doesn't have the LTE bands for T-Mobile, and the GSM frequencies are disabled by firmware and the SIM lock (LTE is SIM based, but it only works on Sprint's band 25 network).
Now my bootloader is unlocked, I am looking for Roms to flash. I have an xt1058 Att variant.
I've see a label ghost, moto-8960, and moto-8960dt. Which one works for my phone?

Roms that are stated to be compatible with your Moto X model? The ATT Moto X? XT1058?
That's easy enough, but I was wondering about these names. For example, the N5 is hammerhead, N4 is Mako, the N3 was maguro, Crespo, and Toro.
Does the X (gsm) have a name?
