I've searched all over, and can't find a solution to my problem.
Finally received my Gear VR, plugged in my phone, need to take it out to install VR apps, network error.
Some background:
- I'm from South Africa, mobile operator Vodacom. Vodacom has bloat, which sucks, so I install the UK BTU rom from sammobile.
- After I received the error, I reinstalled the Vodacom version from sammobile, no luck.
- Factory reset, no luck.
- No apps of any kind (facebook or otherwise) are disabled on the phone.
Any other suggestions?

Did you make sure it installed the correct CSC after updating the firmware to the BTU-version? You need to boot into recovery after flashing in order to properly install the CSC. Download Phone Info Samsung from the play store and check out which CSC you are using after flashing.

Right, so I did and found this.
Is the CSC on the second pic supposed to be blank?

So reflashed the ROM and the CSC, and seem to be back up and running. Thanks for the help.
If missing CSC is a problem
you don't need to reflash.
and if you have root, no need to add whole CSC
Don't even need to reboot the device.
just add one file
check my post here

edit: My phone is the SM-G800F
So I bought an S5 mini from ebay and verified it was all legit, legit packaging, tested via apps that check everything etc. Everything was saying all legitimate. It was defaulted to German region DBT. I thought everything was fine since during install I had set the phone up as UK English until it came to rebooting after encryption when the keyboard was not standard QWERTY, it was specifically German and since my password is more about pressing of certain on screen keys rather than the info being typed I could not get at my data. Well I downloaded the latest H3G firmware so that it should be in UK English on my own network most likely (My sim's network is 3)
This is what Odin shows:

Now, the only difference this time, compared to flashing my S4 mini as I have done lots of times, is when I extracted the zip file for the firmware, 7zip complained about extra data after the payload... I updated to the latest 7zip and so I am not sure what's going on but Odin did not complain about any md5 hash breakage so that should have been fine. Also it came from a different site than I usually get. I got the firmware from two places and it seems the same, no hash breakage. I am downloading one now from sammobile which I think is where I got my S4 mini firmwares from.
Can you think of anything that would make this happen and what I could do to fix it? I tried Kies 3 but it just doesn't work, says something like no compatible devices and then when I try and do the emergency firmware recovery, the device does not show up in the list to even attempt anything.
I would appreciate some guidance on this.
Ok, I flashed the original German firmware and it is siccessful and wants me to set it up again as brand new BUT I need to flash the English firmware.
Is there any way I can flash my UK firmware (H3G) on this German S5 mini? Any extra options I need to select on Odin?
So I have a sprint note 8 I am a Verizon customer I just got the phone and is not working only when roaming setting are on should I flash the Verizon stock firmware or try to fix the apn setting I been out the android game for a while would appreciate some help thanks

don't update this app!!
download Phone Info *Samsung* from playstore here : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo&hl=en
Go to the 3 hash mark on top left, go down to the Other Tools, then go to csc changer (root) and change to verizon csc.
Furthermore you could use shortcut master, you could search Devconfig and launch it and change csc that way.
Either way youll need root, so my suggestions, flash samfail v2 or 1 depending on ur bootloader version, then use the above app and set your csc and enjoy. @darkjoker11
You also could try ##72786# and let it reboot and clear the activation, if it was on sprint before then that may be the issue as well, this is a sprint shortcode to deactivate it and cause it to re-register.
Greetings,
I have an SM-G998B/DS, which was bought closed carrier unlocked, but with a firmware from Vodafone (Comes with 3 Vodafone apps which are easy to uninstall). Also the Active CSC code = ATL.
I am from Spain, so I wanted to flash the firmware with the one which says PHE, thi sone in particular
Download Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra SM-G998B PHE Spain G998BXXS3AUHD firmware
Fast download latest Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra firmware SM-G998B from Spain with G998BXXS3AUHD and Android version 11
www.sammobile.com
File downloaded:
G998BXXS3AUHD_G998BOXM3AUHB_PHE.zip
Thing is that I flashed without issues, but I still see that Vodafone apps gets installed and in the Phone Info APP still says ATL
My understanding is that by flashing with PHE, the firmware would not be tied to any carrier in particular? And it should show as PHE in the phone INFO app?
Also, I always have seen the CSC blank, even before flashing, except for the "Active CSC". Is that normal?
Thanks in advance!
Out of curiosity, Whats your software provider software version?
I.e. TGY/TGY,TGY/BRI
Greetings,
I am attaching a screenshot.
Thanks!

Hi
Changing the active CSC is not as easy as it use to be, before just flashing the correct firmware and booting the phone with the right SIM was enough
There are a couple of options using a dialer code , myself i used that method to change from GTO to PHE , I see you have the latest firmware I do not think they will work anymore , you can try if you want check here
If that does not work your only option without root is samkey ( pay)
Thanks for the reply!
I think I will just leave as it is. I can survive with 3 additional apps which I can uninstall.
Thanks again
So I've been stuck on November update since forever, I check every day for new updates but nothing.
Is anyone having the same issue?

Are you using a device which wasn't offered by your service provider? You may need to flash different firmware.
Did you flash your current FW, or did you receive it via OTA? What is your phone's CSC?
If you flashed it earlier, flash again. If not be patient....

I've never flashed anything, I'm using the phone as I bought it about a year ago. I travel a lot though, so I change sim cards quite frequently.
My CSC is G998BOXM3BUK8

Changing SIM-cards regularly could be the cause...
What is shown under software version under phone info - software details - software version provider? (Or similar menu names) See attached SS.
You could consider flashing latest FW. This threat provides all info...

Thanks I'll check the thread.
Here is the service provider info
According to overview on sammobile.com your firmware is indeed up to date for CSC TPA (Panama).
Be patient...

Thanks a lot for checking mate!
Panama! I was not expecting that lol
I guess I'll wait for a few days before I flash a new firmware.
I've bought this phone second hand online a year ago and I thought since it's not declared as stolen on IMEI it would be fine.
From what a guy told me it's from france so it's probably connected to a carrier from there, but I haven't figured out how to check myself.
I'd like to know if there any way to get the update without breaking functionality of the phone, like google pay, bluetooth or other issues i've usually had with rooted phones in the past.

It's worth mentioning I tried updating using smart switch and it didn't work.
you can download firmware suitable for your location and flash it with Odin all without triggering Knox, you can even keep your apps but with such a big jump your cache will need wiping afterward from recovery.
if you look in settings / about phone / software info / service provider software version. you should see 3 letters being listed there 3 times. that your (current) CSC code, googling that will tell which network or country the phone is from. you also need to find out the CSC version you want to download for your country. don't pick a CSC for your network, pick for your country.
Looks like your carrier tag is SFR, so if you search for firmware with model: SM-G781B and country: SFR, you will find firmware for it with Android version 13.
You can use:
sammobile (slow),
[TOOL] SamFirm - Samsung firmware downloader & checker
Note: This tool is deprecated. Please use fw.updato.com See also here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/updato-largest-online-firmware-archive-t3413785 Hello guys I have created a little tool to download and check latest Samsung...

I usually use: https://github.com/ivanmeler/SamFirm_Reborn/releases/tag/0.3.6.3
After you get firmware downloaded use Odin to install it. You can use this Medium article.
It is very simple to use tool. (In CSC field use HOME_CSC file to keep your data)
